Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Bling in the Holidays

Hi Everyone,

Happy Christmas Eve! I have one last Christmas/holiday card to share with you today. It was one that I made for last minute sending, so it's not too fussy.

I stamped the Filigree Christmas Ornaments from DRS Designs using Versamark and then some green dye ink. This gave the ink some body, so that I could then emboss the ornaments using a rainbow embossing powder. It just gave them that added touch of sparkle. I colored in the ornament tops and added a "string" using a ruler and a green pen.

I stamped, die cut and matted the Bling in the Holidays greeting and added a few gems for that needed flair :)
Thanks for the visit today and have a safe holiday!

Snow Doubt About It...

Hi Everyone,
I have a card to share with you made using the Snow Doubt Birthday Greeting from DRS Designs, which is tailor made for someone with a winter birthday.

I began with a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white card base, making the blue and white layers each 1/4" smaller than the base. I stamped the Pine Tree Snowdrifts & the birthday sentiment in navy ink, and then layered the Snow Background right on top using a light blue ink.

I used the Winter Tree Postage Frame stamp with the added Tiny Happy Birthday stamped in the frame, for my focal image. It was simply die cut and embellished with a bit of chalk shading and added with a dimensional dot to my card front. I even refrained from adding glitter, in an attempt to keep it gender neutral.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope your holiday season is a happy one so far!

Ho, Ho Ho!

Hi Everyone,
I have light hearted holiday card to share with you today. DRS Designs has a new sentiment stamp being released. It's the Ho, Ho, Ho Rum greeting, and I could imagine Santa wanting to spike his eggnog with a bit of rum after his trek around the globe :)
After stamping and coloring the sentiment, I set it aside and created the card base using the
Open Plaid background stamp in Versamark. I then made some paper using the
Jingle Bells Background stamp in green ink, and then wrapped it with a sweet red ribbon. I also colored and fussy cut the Santa Hat, adding it with a pop dot after assembling the card.

I finished it off with a couple of rows of gems and some Stickles on Santa's Hat!

Hope your holidays are off to a fun start!

A Little Wish

Hi Everyone,
I have another DRS Designs Christmas card to share with you today. The focus of the card is the new Tree Shape Christmas greeting that I stamped in green ink, die cut and layered onto a couple of larger die cut ovals. I embellished the scallop with a few gems, and then set it aside while I stamped my base layers.

I used the Snow Background stamp on the bottom card base and the Christmas Lights Edger on the embossed layer. I stamped and colored the lights first, and then dry embossed above and below that image. Finally I rounded the two bottom corners and assembled the card as shown.
Thank for stopping by the blog today!
