Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Heroes and Hearts

Hi Everyone,

I thought I would try a heart theme to go along with the You are my Hero Greeting on my today.

Beginning by stamping, coloring and fussy cutting the Wooden Frame Collection, I then went about choosing things to fill them with. Some pink and red punched hearts in one, the sentiment in another, and Bandages (heart embellished of course) and a butterfly (from the Three Butterflies) in the last.

I attached them to an embossed heart background and I made a heart border for the bottom using the Scattered Hearts stamp.

Care Giver Cards

Hi Everyone,

I have a couple of cards in honor of care givers, specifically nurses and doctors.
I used the
A Nurse Brings...Greeting, and attached it to a background made using the Bandage stamp, and a strip embossed with hearts.  I decided to go all in with the heart theme, and added the
Small Silhouette Heart to the center of the greeting.  For an image I stamped, colored and fussy cut  the Boo Boo Bear image, to which I added a glitter embellished heart.

This was originally a nurse card, but once I made it, I realized nurses don't wear white coats, so a doctor card it is!  I cut a piece of cardstock in half, and folded down the inside corners for the coat. The shirt was a scrap of blue that I added behind the "V" and I glued on real buttons down the front.  I used my tag punch to make a pocket and the doctor items were stamped and fussy cut from the Medical Bag stamp.  In place of the name tag, I used the thank you that came from the

The inside uses the sentiment, I just cut off the top part that mentions nurses, and added a punched heart to the bottom.

You can find all of these stamps and many more at DRS Designs!

Have a nice day!

Tough Times

I've been enjoying stamping with the new images and greeting stamps that DRS Designs has recently released.  I made two cards using the same sentiment.

Here I stamped and die cut Guide Dog Assisted Woman and paired that with the Tough Times Don't Last Greeting.  Using the colors from the image I made the backgrounds by stamping half with the Splatter Background stamp and half with the Argyle Background, filling it in with the matching Argyle Diamond.  I covered up the seam with a piece of printed ribbon and added a photo corner punch up top.

Here I made a quick and easy card using the same sentiment.  My mother-in-law broke her hip, and she has been one tough cookie during her recovery process, so this was made with her in mind.  I used a wet paintbrush and washed on some pink, yellow and blue ink.  One it was dry, I stamped and heat embossed Josephine the Bold right on top and only gave her some "lipstick".

To make it a little girlie, I added some pink gems to the corners. I love how perfect the image and sentiment are together...Just the ticket for a little light hearted inspiration!

If there ever was a perfect sentiment for these times, I'd say this is it!

Pop on over to DRS Designs to get one too...

Sending you and yours stamping hugs!

Summer Cards

Hi Everyone,

We had a good heat spell last week, and since that really put me in a summer time mood, I'm celebrating the upcoming warm season with these two cards.

This underwater scene was inspired by Shelia's card with all of her colorful fish! I stamped, colored and fussy cut a few fish, along with some shells and seaweed for the bottom of the ocean floor.  Speaking of the floor, that was created with some sandy colored glitter flock, and I attached it to a background that was sponged with various blue inks.  Along with the die cut greeting, I added some punched greenery to the ocean floor.

Stamps used are as follows:

This card celebrates my favorite summer holiday, and this year we can all use a little sparkle in our lives, don't you think?

My background was created using the new Star Streamers and the sentiment is the new
4th of July Sparkle Greeting, which I embellished with a few gems to match the strip of silver glitter.

Wishing you lots of sparkle and sunshine in the months to come!

Have a great day :)
