Thinkin' of You

Hi Everyone,

I was in a vintage-y mood this week...I was finishing up reading Emma by Jane Austen.  This is our book club pick for this month, and the meeting is tonight.  I'm looking forward to it, since this is one of the best reads for me in a while.  Last year there was a great mini series version on Masterpiece Classic and it's so worth the time if you love the book.  Ahhh, romance.  Sigh.  (Tonight we also vote on our next 4 book picks...woo-hoo!)

Anyway, here is a general card that I made using some digital paper from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  What?  You've never tried digital paper?  Well, today is you lucky day.  THIS beautiful Vintage Sheet Music Paper is F-R-E-E!  No lie. 

It made the perfect back drop for my vintage parlor chair that was a rub on from the dollar bin at Michael's.  I just love the crisp black and white look.

Vintage Friendship

Hi Friends!

Today's card features a couple of stamps from Scrolls Work.  I wanted to used this fantastic watchface image, but I didn't want to make a masculine card.  I decided to use some vintage looking papers with a yellow and grey color scheme and played off of that when stamping the images.  I used various shades of yellow for the watches, and then stamped the friendship sentiment "We Have" right over them.

I finished it off with some rhinestones and a matching layered flower.  The result?  Definitely not masculine.

Vintage Thank You

Before I get to my card, I just wanted to give you a little FYI...Cheryl has some awsome Stampin' Up blog candy!  Go to her blog to enter...It's super easy :)

This card today has a lot of texture to it.  I decided to make a vintage looking thank you card using some  stamps from Scrolls Work.  I made a tag using the stamp Ruffled Feathers #4071.  She is stamped in  Onyx Black Versafine ink and then distressed with some Antique brown ink along the edges.The backgound paper was embossed and sanded to bring out the color underneath (I purchased it at a local scrapbook store, but there was no company name on it...It's very unique because the color underneath the black is metallic.)  I added a bit of real lace and paper with a lace pattern.  The layered flower embellishment I assembled myself using prima flowers, beads, text from an old book and a pearl brad.  The thank you sentiment comes from the stamp Personal Holidays #1601.
