Lots of Penguins

Hi Everyone!

My cards today showcase the new releases from DRS Designs.  These super cute stamps I'm using, all highlight the season that we are currently in...Winter.

I paired this new stamp Let it Snow Penguins with one of my go to favorites, 4 in 1 Snowflakes.  The image and sentiment are all in one, so all I did was create a band in the background using the snowflake stamp. 

The image was colored with Copics and cut out using my Nesties.  The Snowflake punch was a gift this past Christmas...Yay!

Since it's Tuesday today, I'm also posting at the DRS Designs blog today.  So here is only a small peek of the second card.  You will want to head on over there to see it...It was made with the very cool Woven Plaid Stamp...LOVE it SO much! (It also features another Penguin ;))

Artist Brushes

Hi Everyone,

I have a CAS (Clean & Simple) card for you today.  It uses the image Artist Tools from the I Brake for Digis shop, paired with a traditional sentiment from my supplies. 

I always felt the sentiment needed the perfect image, and at last I found it :)

Take a look...

I colored it with my Copic markers and mounted it simply on red card stock.  Here is a close up...

Hi Everyone,

With things being so crazy around here all week, I'm finally getting the chance to post this card I made for my sister-in-law.  She has a milestone birthday this weekend, and I thought this would be an awesome card, without having to reference the actual number of her new decade ;)  What woman wants her number plastered on the front of a card, right?

Just click here if you want to know more about what is going on with the image of this darling little fridge...There are many things in the works behind the scenes, so be sure to check it out ;)  This lovely gal is from the set Hope, Popcorn and Wine by Amber Ink and the card came into being when I was cleaning my little stamping area.  That's when I came across some epoxy stickers from who knows where and the idea was born.  Happy accident? Divine intervention?  I will let you decide.  I love it when stuff works out just so...

Music Saves My Soul Saturday

Hi Everyone,

I'm playing along with Music Saves My Soul Saturday this week.  I'm having problems uploading the little icon picture for this linky party, but Marcea hosts this on her blog.  However, not every week.  I'm not sure if it is happening today, but I really wanted to share this.

I'm Here for You

Hi Everyone!

My card today uses the umbrella image from the set Puddle Fun from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  This set will be retired from the shop at My Grafico, so it is on sale for only $1.00!  How cool of a bargain is that?  Hurry though, the sale only lasts until Sunday. 

I did a bit of paper piecing on the image and added a caring sentiment that I thought was fitting for the shelter of an umbrella.

An Update and an InStyle Stamps Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for all you sweet comments earlier regarding my cryptic post about the health of a family member.  Frankly, I'm still a little exhausted from the drama of three days of doctors, tests, waiting in the ER and nervously waiting the outcome from a procedure for my mother in law, to give you anymore details. Other than, at the moment everything seems to be OK.  She is in the hospital and recovering.

I try not to ramble about tons of personal downers here on the blog o roonie, but I was feeling SO BAD about not getting around to seeing and commenting on  all of your fun cards and various" makes", that I needed you to know that something was up.  Have I said lately that you all are awesome?  If not, consider yourself just that.

On to a bit of card stuff :)

Hi Everyone,

This is a quick post to update everyone that is kind enough to visit me here in blog land.  We have had some unexpected health issues in my immediate family come to light since the new year, so I haven't been around to visit you for that reason. I just a bit overwhelmed at the moment, and that has kept me away from the computer. That's about all I can say right now, and I will be more specific when I have the time. 

To all my new followers and commenters, I so appreciate that you have been by, and I will return the favor as soon as humanly possible.  Take care of yourselves and those that you love.

It's Official

Hi Everyone,

I can finally make the announcement that I have been named to the Design Team for InSyle Stamps.  Thank you so much to Taylor for inviting me, and I know you will love seeing the cute things us "Chicks" will be making with their adorable line of stamps!

Music Saves My Soul Saturday

Hi Everyone!

My pick this week for Music Saves My Soul on Marcea's Blog is a song from Jill Sobule.  She is probably most well know for her song, I Kissed A Girl (Yes, she came before Katy Perry ;) or SuperModel from back in the 90's. And those are probably my least favorites of hers, but she is someone I really *heart*. Her songs are folk inspired, story driven and have satrical lyrics.  Basically smart and funny, just how I like it.

I chose this because it is a live recording, so if you don't know her, you at least get a sense of her stage presence and how much fun it is seeing her in person.
