Hi Everyone,
I hope the weekend was good to you. We managed to squeeze in a little fun for ourselves in the form of the new Woody Allen movie, Midnight in Paris. I thought it was very charming and the best movie he's made in a while. Maybe my favorite movie I've seen so far this year. It's reminiscent of The Purple Rose of Cairo for me, and the fact that it was set in Paris in summer didn't hurt either. If you've never wanted to go there, you will after watching the gorgeous shots of the city :)
We then went out to the Winking Lizard to catch the running of the Belmont. I was looking forward to watching it out somewhere, in a group of people. We got a seat right by the TV and put an order in, and then the horses were off and running. So fun. I'm cheering, the jockeys/horses are making a run for the finish line....Who will it be? Who's that coming up from the back? Then....Nothing. Frozen screen. The satellite goes out. The race ends. The screen remains frozen. Sigh. So much for watching it in a crowd. Oh well, at least my portabella sandwich was very tasty :)
So this is my small attempt at flowers this year. The deer (chipmunks and rabbits too) eat everything. I hate marigolds, but they are in the deer resistant category so I give those a try every year. They last awhile, but always get sampled here and there by the wildlife. I'm also giving zinnias a go. So far so good.
This is on my deck.
More of the same in a planter off the deck on my brick walkway. That thing on the metal stake is some deer repellent gizmo. It was a new item at the garden supply store and unlike the spray, I don't have to reapply it. Fingers are crossed.
Here is my lounge chair. It's under a tree and my favorite spot to read in the summer.
And a shot of my herb garden.
This empty pot has mint seeds. My mint didn't come back this year, so I have to start from scratch.
This coming weekend is Jennifer's graduation party. I feel like I've been working on these favors for forever, so I even got Uncle Rod to help me. They are a triangle boxes filled with orange and white M&M's. School colors are a must have.
A close up...Only 22 more to go and I will be done. Whew!

A couple of months ago, I helped a friend make the favors for her son's graduation party. He's a golfer and the school mascot is a bee. Aren't they cute? I used the small bee stamp from Hambo Stamps.
I've also been working on anniversary invites and favors for someone, but I'm no where close to showing those off yet, so I guess I will end it here. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great crafty day friends :)
