Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Gnome One Like You

Hi Everyone,

How about a couple of cards featuring the adorable Peeking Gnome to brighten up the day?  I took inspiration for this card from this post here.

I loved the way Julie used the Stone Wall and Gate and house in the background, so I decided to make my own scene, using the Mushroom House instead.  The sky and grass were sponged first, and then I went in and stamped the house and Mushroom Line Background.

The fence and gnome were both fussy cut and attached, and there was enough room to fit the
Gnome One Like You Greeting right in the die cut scene.  I attached it to an embossed mushroom background and left enough room at the bottom to add a die cut fence. (Die and embossing folder both by Darice.)

This one was super easy.  I used the same stamps and embossing folder, just adding the
Tree Slice Woodgrain behind the little window I created for the gnome to peek out.

Thank you for visiting today and here's hoping all is well in your little corner of the world!

Happy Stamping,
Karin

Sympathy Cards

Hi Everyone,

My heart really goes out to those folks who have lost loved ones during these times.  I can't imagine the pain of not being able to put someone to rest, without the company and support of those you hold dear.  I've been keeping those close to me in my thoughts and prayers and wish you and yours health, safety and comfort too.  It's in that spirit, that I share these cards today.

I kept things simple, super simple when it comes to the first card.  I chose to use the first embossing folder I ever bought (an oldie, but goodie for sure!) and stamped and die cut the
Deco Deepest Sympathy for the sentiment.

The flower came from the Calla Lilly Sympathy Frame stamp, and I colored and fussy cut it out, adding it with some dimensional foam tape.

Keeping with the flower theme, I chose to use the Circle Lily stamp, which I colored and fussy cut as well.  I attached it to a die cut frame, and used the same sentiment.

After assembling the card, I added some glitter glue to finish it off.

Thank you for visiting the blog today.  All of these stamps can be found at the DRS Designs store.

Wishing you and yours, peace & health.

Fairy 2 Ways

Hi Everyone!

These magical little stamps in the form of fairies and gnomes sure have brightened my days at home. So much so, that I'm kind of inspired to maybe make a fairy garden outside, once things warm up around here.

Both my cards feature the new Fairy with Globe stamp, but in I've chosen to show her in two different ways.

Here I stamped the backgrounds using the Large Original Plaid and the Dandelion Puff in purple and pink ink.  Both the fairy and Toadstool were stamped, colored and fussy cut before attaching them to the die cut circles.  I also added a bit of glitter glue to the globe before choosing the sentiment, which came from the Birthday Candle Burst.

I wanted to make a second fairy card, so I used the same stamps, but colored everything black, so she looks like she's in silhouette.

I attached everything to a dry embossed panel (Darice) and used the 1 Lined Blessed Day for my greeting.

If you haven't checked out the new stamps a DRS Designs, be sure to pop on over to the store!

Have a Blessed Day!

Gnome

Hi Everyone!

I've been waiting for this day, the day I could give you a peek at some of the new stamps being released at DRS Designs.  AHHH! I'm so giddy and I know that you will be too.  The design team will be showing them off all week and then you will be able to order them yourself starting on April 11th.

I think my favorite of the release is the Peeking Gnome (994) because his little face is so sweet!

Using blue ink, a sponge and a scalloped circle punch, I created the background for this card.  I then used the Brick Wall stamp to create the wall and I attached it to the bottom of the panel.  The gnome was stamped, colored, fussy cut and attached.

It looked a little plain, so I die cut some grass (Darice) and attached it on top of the brick wall.

For the greeting, I used the new Gnome Smile Greeting (997) and the Mushroom Line Background (983), simply coloring it up, adding a few white dots with a gel pen to get that effect.

Remember the release date is April 11th at the DRS Designs store!

Happy Stamping!

Happy Easter

Hi Everyone,

I'm sending you all thoughts and prayers for health, physical and mental, during these times.  Unless things change dramatically soon, it looks like my Easter celebration dinner will have to wait until next year.  On the bright side, everyone liked the invites and here are the last two that celebrate the message of hope that Easter brings to us.

I made the bottom background paper using the Open Plaid and Large Original Plaid background stamps.  I stamped one vertically and one horizontally to get that effect.  After adding an embossed flower background, I covered the seam of the papers by fussy cutting and coloring up the Flower Border to match.  I then stamped and die cut the Blessed with Gifts Easter Greeting and attached  a few more flowers for embellishment.

My second card is more simple.  I embossed the bottom portion in a lavender to match the Small Easter Cross, and added a strip of patterned ribbon. The die cut Celebrate Easter Celebrate Christ Greeting and a few gems finished it off.

If you find yourself with extra time, be sure to stop by the DRS Designs store and pick up some new stamps to jump start your cardmaking mojo!

Wishing you all the best...

Everybunny

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you are safe and well and can use seeing this cute face on my card today!

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the Big Bunny Face.  I decided to put him in a frame, so I die cut two, one in pink and one in white.  I swapped out the inside of the pink for the white and stamped the  Happy Easter Everybunny and attached the bunny himself.

For the background I chose a flower embossing folder and stamped two green strips using the

As always, you can find lots of spring and Easter stamps at the DRS Designs online store!

Here's hoping my favorite hobby is your favorite hobby and that you stay safe and well!

Happy Stamping....

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hi Everyone,

Like the title of my post today says, Happy St. Patrick's Day! Rather than show you another of my Easter invitations, I thought I would make a shamrock laden card to celebrate the day.  One positive about being encouraged to stay at home is more stamping time!

When I made this card here, I stamped and die cut an additional Love and Laughter Friends  Greeting, so rather than wait to use it next year (and probably lose it in that time anyway...lol) I made this here card.

To change it up from the last card, I added the Four Leaf Clover on top of the greeting in a light green shade of ink.  I stamped the Silhouette Shamrock Field on the top and the bottom of the background, and I stamped the Celtic Knot on the white border.  I simply colored it up and attached it at an angle.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Easter Eggs

Hi Everyone!

It's another post about my Easter invitation making odyssey.  This batch, along with a few I will show in the coming weeks, complete my task. Yay!  Now to stamp and mail them out.

I challenged my self to choose a stamp and make a group of cards, so what's more iconic than a good old Easter egg, right?

Here are my offerings made using the Easter Egg with Bow stamp:

I used the same 1 Line Happy Easter on all of the cards and the stamps I used to create the background paper on this last one are as follows:

Hippy Hoppity, Easter's on its way!

Thanks for peeking in...

Happy Easter

Hi Everyone!

I'm still on my Easter invitation making quest, so here is my latest offering.  It's not elaborate, but with a great image a simple card can be something more.  And this image just screams SPRING to me!

I colored up the Daffodil Frame from DRS Designs and fussy cut it.  I played off of the butterfly in the image and used one of my embossing folders (Darice) to make the background.

I added some die cut butterflies (Stampin' Up!) and the 1 Line Happy Easter Greeting to finish it off.

Have you started on your Easter and or springtime cards yet?  Stamping with cheery images is sure to chase away the late winter blues!

Thanks for stopping by!

May there be gold...

Hi Everyone!

It was glorious this past weekend for me; loads of sunshine and temperatures in the low 50's.  A true gift this time of year and I'm counting down the days until spring!  Until then...

I'm still ushering in St. Patrick's Day with my card share today.  It's pretty self explanatory.  Here are the stamps I used:

I had the sentiment already die cut, from a project that I didn't finish last year.  I added some sponging to it and then played off the word rainbow, and added a row of rainbow colored clovers.

Be sure to order your new stamp catalog today!

Happy Crafting :)
