Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

October 31st

Hi Everyone,

I have a quick card made using one of the new Halloween stamps that was released at DRS Designs! I love it when a stamp can be used as a greeting and an image all in one.

This was stamped and embossed with some glittery embossing powder, before I fussy cut it and layered it onto die cut squares. It's borderline wrong how excited I get when I realize I can use my Martha Stewart drippy goo punch...lol!  It's one of my favorite Halloween card making tools, so I added it to a border made using the Splatter Background and Starry Background stamps.

I simply added these elements to dry embossed background that matched the October 31 image.

Thanks for peeking in today!

My Favorite Time of Year

Hi Everyone,

Fall is definitely a favorite time of year in my house.  As a kid I loved summer, but since I'm a grown up and I don't have to go back to school, I'm all for cooler temperatures, all things pumpkin and the gorgeous colors of the autumn leaves.  Also, with all the holidays looming ahead, it's the best time for card making!  You'll want to get your ink pads ready, because DRS Designs has some fun Halloween stamps coming your way at the end of this week, and I've got a quick peek of one today.

I love this festive new greeting stamp in the shape of a witch's hat (310F)! I stamped it on black cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I then fussy cut it, and placed it on the jack-o-lantern part of the Fancy Pumpkin stamp that was colored and fussy cut as well, attaching it to a die cut oval and some matting.

The background was dry embossed using a pumpkin embossing folder and I made some patterned paper using one of my favorite background stamps, the Splatter Background.  I stamped in orange and yellow ink to match my background paper and then I used my square punches to create the pieces. I attached them to the background and added a strip of black embellished with gemstone brads before adhering the image with dimensional tape.

If you want to know why all the good candy is already gone right before Halloween, the photo is right here:

Yes, I snapped this picture at my local grocery store back in July. JULY!

The struggle is real!

Buy it now, and I'll just have to keep buying more because I will have eaten it.  Or wait too long to buy, and I'm afraid I'll be the one house giving out weird hard candy, like peppermint and butterscotch,,,lol!

Hope you all are having a sweet week!

Life is better in Cowboy Boots

Hi Everyone,

It's been way too long since this cute little Saddle Up Cowboy stamp from DRS Designs saw any ink at my house, so I decided it was high time I make a card using him.  He matched up perfectly with the Better in Cowboy Boots Greeting,  so I stamped, die cut and matted both.  I then colored up that adorable little guy and went to work on my background.

I chose to play off of the the stars on his hat and embossed my papers with 2 different star embossing folders, covering up the seam with a piece of tape that looks like cork.  I dove into my stash of brads and found these little stars. They were however, a bit too small to use by themselves, so I punched out a small circle from a piece of white scrap paper and embellished my embellishments :)

Thanks for visiting today!
