Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Winter Cards

Hi Everyone,

Since it's still January, I have a couple of simple winter cards to share today, using stamps from DRS Designs.

For the first one, I paired the new It's Freezin' Season Greeting with a couple of my favorite snowmen in my stamp collection, Stretch the Round Button Snowman and Simply Snowman. I was going to stamp the greeting at the same time, and make a flat card, but changed my mind and made a medallion using my punches instead, attaching it when it was complete. After stamping and coloring the snowmen, I dry embossed on top, to add some snowy texture.

This is one of my holiday thank you cards that I mass produced this year. Since I was making a half a dozen, I went with a simple stamped background (Snow Background) and a large die cut snowflake.

The Blizzard of Thanks Greeting was stamped and heat embossed, with a touch of blue sponging around the edge.  I attached it with some dimensional foam tape and added a big half pearl to finish it off.

Inside I stamped the same snowflakes in a light blue.

And here is a close up of the glittery embossing :)

Thanks for stopping by...

  Happy Stamping :)

Valentines

  Hi Everyone,

Working on some Valentine's day cards this past week is something that brought me and abundance of joy...Pink, red, hearts, new stamps...What's not to love?  If your in a funk, I highly recommend inking up some stamps and focusing in on those you love.

For the first card I stamped Jungle Jim the Elephant twice, colored and fussy cut them out.  I added a bow from 4 in 1 Fashion Accessories and made a girlfriend our of one, attaching it inside a die cut heart.  I cut apart the new I'm Wild About You Greeting and attached everything to and embossed background.  I stamped fussy cut the Small Silhouette Heart and added it to the bottom elephant and added a few random pearls for embellishment.

For this card, I created a background using the Silhouette Love Heart as a base to show off the die cut greeting, Valentine Drop Hearts.

Before attaching the greeting, I tied on some wrinkle ribbon and added some die cut hearts to finish it off.

Thanks for visiting the blog today!

Valentines

  Hi Everyone,

I love making Valentine cards each year.  They always make me smile due to the fact that they're usually fun, or punny or cute or all three!  I sure could use any and all lightheartedness during these times :)

I celebrated my 30th wedding anniversary last September, so I definitely think I'm lucky in love.  I'm usually the one who wins when playing cards too, so I paired the new sentiment up with a few card related stamps.

I embossed the background and made a border strip using the 4 Suite Vertical stamp and a punch. I stamped a fussy cut a couple of the 5 Cards and attached them using some dimensional foam tape.

This next card is so me.  I love pink.  I love puns.  I love bees.  I love sparkle!  Can I give a valentine to myself?

I started by stamping the background by using the Flower Hearts stamp.  I then stamped it again for the focal image, die cut and colored it in.  I knew I was going to pair it with the new Bee my Valentine Greeting, so that of course meant adding some bees, using the Happy Bee and Bitsy Bumble Bee stamps.

I finished it off by adding some glitter to the bee wings.  Be sure to stop by the new releases page to see all of the new stamps!

Time to get inky for Valentine's day!

Freezin' Season

  Hi Everyone,

Have you been enjoying seeing some of the new stamps that are being released here at DRS Designs?  These stamps I'm showing today are perfect for the month of January!  If you get them now, you can use them to get a jump on your holiday cards too :)

This first card uses the Silhouette Skating Snowman.  I inked up the stamp once, and stamped it on the right side of my panel.  Using that same stamp again, without reinking it, I stamped it a couple more time to give the effect of movement.  I then sprayed the panel with adhesive and sprinkled it with iridescent, snowy glitter.

After framing it in red, I attached a strip along the side, embellishing it with a punched snowflake and the new greeting, It's Freezin' Season.  Which is crazy cute in my humble opinion!  I then attached it to a grey card base that was stamped using the Snow Background stamp and the same blue ink.

Here I used the new Skating Snowman and colored him up to match the Woven Plaid Background I made for him. I used green and blue ink for the pattern and added a strip of embossed snowflakes to the bottom.

I stamped and die cut the same sentiment, and added some twine and a snowflake button for embellishment..
