Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Men are like a fine wine...

Hi Everyone,

There's a great new batch of stamps soon to being released in the beginning of May, and I have to say that I just adore them all. Lots of great stuff just in time for graduations and even some funny ones that DRS Designs is famous for :)

Which brings me to the card for my post today! It's hilarious, if I do say so myself :)
See?

When I got done laughing at the Men Are Like Wine Greeting (049F), I knew that it would pair up perfectly with the Josephine the Bold stamp. I have no doubt that she could whip a guy into shape :)

I used the new Bunch of Grapes (061D) for the background, as well as the embellishment, which I attached with a pop dot.

Thanks for stopping by and remember we have challenges on the DRS Designs blog every Thursday. We'd love to have you play along!

Quotes & Words

Hi Everyone,

This week DRS Designs is the sponsor over at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge blog and the theme is Quotes & Words.  If you play along and link up your card, you will be in the running for a $10.00 voucher to the DRS Designs store!

I made a simple ATC using the Back Nine Birthday greeting and then stamped on top using the
Easy Grass Background to simulate a golf green.  I added a strip of washi tape to the top and bottom to finish it off.

Since I don't really swap ATC's with anyone, I decided to use mine on a simple card.  I added a couple of layers to my ATC, and adhered it to a card base stamped using the Splatter background stamp. (This was done to represent the sand traps...lol!) I then stamped, colored and fussy cut the Golf Bag and adhered it to the card with pop dots.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck playing along!

From Our House to Yours

Hi Everyone,
Now that the Easter holiday is behind us, I really feel like spring is finally here, and that means warmer sunny days for sure :)
This card today just makes me think of sunshine filled days outside. While real bees are crazy around the end of summer time in August, this Bitsy Bumble Bee from DRS Designs on my card is nothing but sweet!
While I would like to say this card was all planned out, it's really made up of pieces parts from a failed card attempt. I smeared on my first image panel that contained the Beehive, Bee and From Our House to Yours greeting, so I ended up cutting them up separately.
I originally had the card going horizontally, but somehow the placement of my Honeycomb border (that I already glued down!) on this new one, wasn't working with my hive, so by default it became vertical.

After getting the pieces in a place that made me happy, I added the little Bee Trails along with some twine and a button embellishment.
I've heard that stamping mess ups, are just a chance for embellishment, so I would have to agree. Don't trash your mistakes people! Be creative :)
Thanks for visiting!

Wedding Card

Hi Everyone,

I have another wedding card share for you today using stamps from DRS Designs.  I chose a simple design that begins with the Kraft base being stamped by the Script Font Background in a white craft ink. If you use this type of ink, please take a moment to let it dry, so that you don't have any smearing ;)

Then I stamped the Wedding Ring Ensemble and the To Have and Hold sentiment in a brown dye ink, which gave the card a soft, less harsh look were I to have used a black ink. I colored and die cut the image and added a mat and matching die cut flower.

A few gems were added, because that's what I seem to do, and voila! I called it done :)
I love that this card is preserved on the blog in this photo...It was a hard to part with! lol!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you love & sunny skies!

Baby Card

Hi Everyone,

Today I have an easy card to share, one that I made it for a friend who had a little baby boy. I wanted to get it into the mail pronto, so I took the monochromatic approach. Which is a fancy way of saying, "I didn't have time to color my image!" It's nice when you realize that and image that is made up of open lines, can look just as wonderful simply stamped.

After stamping and die cutting Jenny Giraffe, I kept my die in place and did a bit of sponging in the same blue ink that I used when stamping the background. For that I used the Argyle Background and Diamond stamps.

I added a bit of twine and button after stamping the One Line Welcome sentiment, and I attached the image with a couple of pop dots.

Here's hoping you like my simply stamped card!

Wedding Card

Hi Everyone,

DRS Designs is getting ready to release a great new group of stamps this month, and I cannot begin to tell you how much I've LOVED working with them. These recent cards I've made using these newbies have been some of my favorites. I feel like they've boosted my crafting mojo and gotten me out of a long slump :) Hooray for stamps with spring and summer themes!

DRS Designs is also the sponsor this week at The Shabby Tea Room. The theme is Pretty in Pink and the inspriation photo is here:

My card features the lovely Silhouette Bride & Groom (026G) and the perfectly paired To Have and To Hold (1071G) greeting. Both were stamped in brown dye ink, die cut and some light pink chalk shading was added to match the card base.

I dry embossed the background and added some lace, pearls and a flower to keep with the elegant wedding theme.

Sigh. This card makes me want to GO to a wedding. After my husband saw this card, he said, "Wow, that's nice. Hey, when's the last time we went to a wedding?" (And I consider 'That's nice' high praise, by the way...lol.) That's when I realized it's been 9 years. So, let me take this moment to say, "Someone invite to their wedding! I love to dance AND I give a good gift..." Hint, hint ;)

I'll also take this moment to say, that since the lace was a scrap, this card qualifies for our current challenge here on the blog. Check it out and join us!

Happy April Fool's Day! I have no joke, so I will just make this a public service announcement to remind you to watch your back...lol!
