Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Eat, Drink & Be Married

Hi Everyone,

This card would be perfect for a wine loving couple, don't you think? I remember being on a vacation to the Napa Valley in California a few years ago, and all I could think was how beautiful and romantic it would be to have a wedding and reception, looking out onto the vineyards...sigh.

Anyway, these are the thoughts that inspired today's card using stamps from DRS Designs :) It's fairly simple and monochromatic, because I wanted it to be on the elegant side of things.

I used the Bunch of Grapes to make my patterned strip of paper, to which I added a couple of rows of pearls and gems. I used the Pour Me Bottle & Glass stamp on the background, and stamped, die cut the
Eat, Drink & Be Married Greeting. To that, I added a bit of chalk shading and attached it with some pop dots.

Dream Big

Hi Everyone,

The current challenge at DRS Designs is to make a graduation card using your school colors.

While this is a graduation card, I'm pretty sure there isn't a school where fuchsia & cream are the team colors...lol! I was thinking more of making a card for a girl, and that's what inspired my color combo :)

I stamped the background paper with the Brush Motarboard stamp and highlighted the tassels with a Copic marker to match. The bottom portion was stamped using the Large Original Plaid background stamp and I wrapped it with a piece of matching ribbon.

I decided to emboss the Dream Big with some holographic embossing powder for some extra sparkle and after layering the sentiment, I attached it with a pop dot.

I hope that you get a chance to play along in the challenge. The prize is a $10.00 voucher to the

Wine!

Hi Everyone,

I've really loved the new wine themed stamps that were released at DRS Designs recently. The sentiments are so funny, and today my card features the Wine/You Improve with Age greeting. It was stamped, die cut and then I used the new Bunch of Grapes stamp right on top in a light purple.

One of my favorite things to do in late spring and early summer (before the bees go crazy and drive me crazy...lol!) is eat outside, so I inked up the Picnic Basket stamp and colored it using my Copic markers. I fussy cut it and attached it to my card that has a simple dry embossed background.

I added a ribbon and a row of black gems to balance out the card.

Thanks for peeking in on the blog today!

Cheers to you!

A Toast to You...

Hi Everyone,

I was thinking of my niece while I was stamping this card that I'm sharing today. She celebrated her milestone 21st birthday this past weekend, so making this card with the new sentiment from DRS Designs, "A Toast to You", seemed very appropriate.

I chose a purple background because it reminds me of grapes and wine, along with being a girlie color. I stamped the top portion using the Peacock Feather, (hard to see, even in person it's very faint) along with the Easy Dot Background. I used a couple of different shades of purple ink, and the look came out bubbly and festive!

To go along with the sentiment, I stamped the wine glass, (from the Pour Me...Bottle and Glass stamp) colored and fussy cut it and adhered it to the card. After adding the die cut border embellished with gems, the wine needed a little sparkle too, so I enhanced it with some glitter glue :)

Cheers!
