Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Anything but a Card Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Today is the day for the "Anything but a Card" blog hop with Sparkle N Sprinkle!  You should have come here by way of Brigita, but if you didn't, start at the beginning, so you don't miss out on commenting along the way!  Lots of great prizes to be had :)

I've been seeing many projects around Pinterest that feature paint chips, (You know, those strips of paint samples from the store?) so I used those as a theme in today's projects. I just love the gradient colors on them :)

First off I have a bookmark to show you.  I simply cut off the paint numbers from the one side, punched a hole at the top for the ribbon and rounded the corners at the top Then I chose my stamps, Blossoms to Go (#444S) and stamped them in Versamark(#712353310018) and Black Detail Embossing Powder(#EP171)

I added a few gems to finish it off. Quick, easy and super cute. My kinda project :)

The next project is a scrapbook page using a photo from last October.  I love autumn and all the gorgeous colors that time of year.  It's what I think of when I see these beautiful colors in the Velvet Glitter line.  Specifically Tiger Orange (#GM2003), Goldenrod (#GM2006), and Luau Green (#GM2004).  I die cut these leaves from Sticker Paper (#99558), sprinkled them with glitter and then dry embossed.  It turned out even better than I dared to hope :)

Here is a look at the paint chip I used to embellish my page and I used the same glitters and sticker paper to spell out the word Autumn on my page.

The sentiment and flourish from the above photo both come from the stamp set Autumn Swirl (#410)and I used some Bronze Splendor (#G1012) glitter in my die cut layers.

As always, full details can be found in my card gallery.

Thanks for peeking in today.  This hop is a fun one, lots more surprises along the way.  Next up is Cammy!

Enjoy!

Inspiration Challenge Bookmark

*This is my second post today...Please scroll down for my Lindsay's Stamp Stuff post.*

Hi Everyone!

I'm posting my project for the current Inspiration Challenge that is going on at the InStyle Stamps blog this week.  I showed you the photo below yesterday...

Here is my project made using the new Tia and Cuddles stamp set.  I chose to make a bookmark, and I was able to use many of the images in the set for this one project.  Taking inspiration from the little circles in the photo, I used the kitty treat stamps on the tassel of my bookmark.
I used a 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punch and attached them with some Martha Stewart bakers twine.

The image was colored using the following Copic markers-R81, R85, RV23, RV29, E00, E31, E33, C1, BG10, and one Gelly Roll pen in Metallic Pink.

Link up your project at the InStyle Stamps Blog by February 15th 11:59pm (PST) and you could win an image from InStyle Stamps.  Remember to use code ISSIC01 when uploading to any online galleries.  For all this info and more details, visit the InStyle Stamps blog today!

The Challenge is Books

Hi Everyone!

Have you had a chance to participate in the "Books" challenge at the new Amber Ink Challenge blog???

My book club is starting up again this month, so I have had bookmarks on the brain. I made this one in a previous post.   Here are a couple more for the challenge :)

For this bookmark I used a piece of Snails and Pails iPaper and punched out the little cutie pie worms.  I then made the bookworm sentiment myself on the computer and finished it off with some dots and squiggles that I added free hand.  Doesn't get any easier that that.

For the second one, I used the little puffer fish from the set Can I Keep Him along with some matching iPaper.  I love the bright fun colors.

And I couldn't resist adding a corny pun...
It's ok, groan if you want :)  (Check out the little orange fish on the paper...LOVE!)

That's all for me today, if you live in the U.S.A, have a great long Labor Day weekend.  We have plans to squeeze out every last bit of summer fun that we can.

New Amber Ink Challenge Blog

Hi Again!

Did you know that Amber Ink has a new challenge blog?  The challenge started last week while I was away, but the good thing is, each challenge lasts 3 weeks... Phew!  Plenty of time left to join in the fun :) Now that I have passed along my torch, I am free to play along for prizes too! Yay!

The very first challenge issued is to make something pertaining to the theme of "Books".  Now to participate you are required to use one Amber Ink product...Not hard...Have you seen the affordable digis over there?
I chose to make a bookmark using some of her Wine Spots iPaper.  Now, I did use an image from my stash of Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, but once I put on my thinking cap (remember doing that in elementary school?) I was able to add the sentiment from the set Grow Green.  I feel all creative when I manage to think outside the box and it actually turns out like I hoped..lol!

The perfect thing to add to a teacher's thank you note, don't you think?

Unless you want me to win the prize, put on you thinking cap and join the challenge :)

Other challenges this project is linked to are as follows:
Bee Crafty-Ribbon
Aly's Sunday Challenge-Dots
Crafty Inspirations-Bookmark
Cutie Sunday-Anything But a Card
Stamping for the Weekend-Anything but a Card

Mark Twain Book Mark

Hi Everyone!

Last week was Vacation Bible School at my church and I was glad to be able to help out.  I'm kinda behind on my housework though, so this will be a quickie post.

I made this book mark using a wonderful stamp from Scrolls Work.  It's a quote by Mark Twain called Ideal Life and there is nothing I love more, than being right in the middle of a great book that I can't put down.
I always bring a book or two on vacation with me, and this would be the perfect thing to mark where I left off.
I just paired the quote with some great graphic paper, added a ribbon and I was good to go.

A new round of the question game is going on at the Scrolls Work blog.  Just click here to answer a question and you will be put in the drawing for free stamps!  Easy peasy :)

Thanks for dropping by!

Anything but a Card

Hi Eveyone!

Are you ready to join in the fun, new challenge at I Love Digi?  Let's get right to it...Anything But A Card!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Wink Wink Ink and the prize is three digis!

I chose to make one of my favoite things...A bookmark!  I love them and I think they are the perfect thing to pop into a card for someone as a thank you, or include as part of a gift if you are giving someone a book :)

However, I am slightly fearful that these may become obsolete, what with everyone downloading books onto their digital readers...LOL!
I knew I wanted to make a bookmark the minute I saw this stack of books from the set School Rules by Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  With that cute apple on the top, I think this would be perfect for a teacher as an end of the year thank you.

The rest of the I Love Digi design team has some fun things to show you.  Visit their blogs and and then link up your Anything but a Card creation at I Love Digi.  I can't wait to see what you make!

Have a great day!
