Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

After Christmas bits....

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a happy Christmas and that Santa was good to you.  We're always extremely blessed when it comes to receiving gifts, I feel almost shameful about our good fortune.  However on the crafty front, I only received a Michael's gift card and a new paper cutter, so I may have to do some shopping for myself in January...lol!

Anyway, if you didn't get as many craft supplies as you wanted either, I wanted to let you know that  my blogging friend Cheryl has some candy she's giving away.  The sign up is here, or by clicking the photo on the side bar :) Good Luck!

And, our Torn Paper challenge is continuing through to the new year at the DRS Designs blog.  Join us, and it's another way to win some crafty stuff.

Before I get to my card, here are a few photos from Christmas eve.

With Rod

My Dad & Charlotte.

With my cousin Alan.

And my table for Christmas day dinner.

I was bummed when I realized the die I bought, only cut the name card to be flat.  Some how I was thinking it would fold in half.  Then I remembered the cute little ornament place card holders I got as a gift from my cousin Cathy a couple of years ago.  Perfection.  Even ended up matching better than I hoped with my red, green & gold centerpiece.  Sadly I ran out of time to make favors, and everyone ended up only getting a chocolate Santa :(.

And finally, DRS Designs is the sponsor over at the 365 Cards blog this week and I made a card in support using the sketch for today.

Aren't those monkeys cute?  I thought they would look great with the new friendship sentiment stamp that is going to be released on January 5th.  Yes, new stamps = Yipee :)

The proper names for the stamps used on this card are as follows:
Life is Friendship (Released on Jan.5th)

Thanks for taking time to drop by....Have a safe and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone!

It's pretty obvious why I chose to post this card on the blog today :) If you are celebrating the holiday, I hope this finds you doing well and celebrating in a way that is most pleasing to you. Whether you are in the company of friends and loved ones, or furry friends or knee deep in crafts, I wish you all the hope this season brings.

It's an honor and a privilege to be able to share my love of stamping using the stamps from DRS Designs.  Here's my card share for today:

The stamps I used to make this card are:

I added some Stickles to the berries and the jingle bells were stamped on to pre glittered paper and then fussy cut and used as embellishments.

I'm keeping it short today, but here's wishing you all a Merry Christmas!

Popcorn Snowmen

Hi Everyone,

Every year I make a small something for all the people in my husband's area at work.  I've made boxes of covered Hershey Nuggets, handmade dish soap, Santa candy bars, stamped on candles, well you get the idea. Time was quickly running out, when I remembered an idea I saw last year.  Popcorn snowmen! That wrapper had a pre-printed face, but I decided to make mine with punches instead.

The eyes are 3/4" circle punch and the mouth is 1/2" punch. The carrot nose was just hand cut and all glued on using the Dimensional Glue (539) from Sparkle N Sprinkle. It comes in a bottle with a small pointed opening, which was perfect for all those little circles. It's also a little thicker, not runny and stays in place. It made completing these in front of the TV a snap :)

The hats are just a pair of stretchy gloves tied off with a bit of seam binding to make the fingers into fringe.

And there they are.  All 66 of them :)

Rod passed them out yesterday and said they were a big hit.  In fact, we were at a company function at the beginning of the month and I was introduced to one of his co workers.  She said, "Oh, so you're the one who makes the cute stuff for us every year."  When Rod promptly said, " Hey, what makes you think that it's not me?" lol.  Anyway, since the gifts are just small tokens, it really was sweet to think that the gesture is appreciated.

So, if you need a last minute gift-y, or an idea for next year...There ya go!

Merry Christmas!

Make Your Own Music

Hi Everyone,

I thought I would change things up a bit and share a non Christmas card with you today.  I was fortunate to work with a gorgeous set of stamps named Music Labels (424) from Sparkle N Sprinkle recently.

I stamped the butterflies once, and then again to give them a shadowy effect and I added a strip of 1/2" Tear-iffic Tape (SAT04) to the base and coated that in Black Ice (G1020) glitter.  It was then that I went ahead and dry embossed that piece of card stock.  I fell in love with the look.

The label was embossed and fussy cut and the sentiment was die cut and added with a pop dot for some dimension.  Lastly I had to add some rhinestone flourishes for a bit more elegance.

For step by step instructions, visit my gallery here.

Thanks for visiting today!

Merry Christmas

Good Morning Everyone,
As far as I'm concerned, the big countdown starts today, because Christmas is one week away! How's your holiday prep going? I'm somewhere between Yikes and Yipee :)

I'm showing off a card I made a while back with one of my favorite stamps from the DRS Designs catalog, Golf Ball Snowman. I sent a few of these cards out to the golfers in my family. Love that plaid hat and scarf combo on him :)

The green panel piece was created using the Open Plaid background stamp and the subtle look was made by stamping in Versamark. I added a matching ribbon and layered everything onto an embossed snowy background. The sentiment was taken from the Christmas Multi Greeting, by only inking the one phrase and punching it out. Lots of layers, and except for the ribbon knot, still relatively flat for mailing :) Speaking of ribbon, have you entered this weeks ribbon challenge? There's still time!
Peace & Love :)

Peppermint Bear

Hi Everyone,

I’m proudly showing off the sweet digi image named Peppermint Christmas Bear today. Isn’t he adorable? Michelle Perkett has a whole line of stamps and digis at Sparkle N Sprinkle, so if you haven’t had a chance to see them yet, I encourage you to take a peek at the shop.

For this card I began by making some glittery paper using Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter (GM2000) and some of my must have Sticker Paper (99558). I printed out my digi on card stock, then using some blue painters tape, I attached a piece of the glitter paper right over the bear. Then I sent it through my printer again and voila! A sparkly bear! After I colored his scarf, nose and paws, (Yes, you can color right over the glitter! Very cool indeed) I fussy cut him and attached him with some pop dots. See how cute?

I had some of the paper I made left over, so I added a couple of punched photo corners to the top, and a strip of Collegiate Garnet(G1114) glitter to match my holiday paper. Feel free to check out my gallery for all the step by step instructions.

Here’s wishing you a cheerful December!

Cupcake Challenge

Hi Everyone,

DRS Designs is sponsoring the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge this week.  Here is the adorable cupcake inspiration photo for this week:

And here is my card:

Since I needed another Christmas card for mailing to a friend, I kept it pretty flat and simple using the colors and the snowmen concept from the above photo for my card.  Tiny Snowman was the stamp, and the sentiment came from only inking that one phrase up from the Christmas Multi Greeting background stamp.

For another chance to win a DRS Designs prize, check out this weeks "Inspired by Religion" challenge right here

Not only is my card quick and simple, but so is this post.  Today Blogger has decided to kick me out every 90 seconds.  I cannot even tell you how long it took me to post this. ACK!  I'm gonna shut down and try to log in again.  All these crazy issues have really cramped my blogging style lately :(

Have a good one!

Snow Fun Challenge

Hi Everyone,

I feel like every time I write a blog post, I need to apologize for my lack of posting around here.  The holidays are super busy for most, and that includes me too, but last week my router/modem thing-y decided to give out.  Ugh.  Took me a bit to get back online, but here I am.

Our challenge at the DRS Designs blog is titled "Snow Fun", so if you need to do some holiday card making catch up, now is the time to create and link up!

I used the Penguin Snowball Blast for this card, along with the Interlocking Snowflakes and
Warm Wishes greeting. The middle strip was made with the Woven Plaid background stamp, a real favorite of mine this time of year.  A big thank you goes out to Jennifer, for letting me use her embossing folder for this card :)

I actually went and added some Stickles to the snowballs after I took this photo, so it looks a little less plain now.  In my eyes anyway.

Over the weekend I took my friends daughter to the Painted Penguin at the mall.  You pick out whatever you want from the stock on hand, they give you the paints and when you're done, they seal it for you.  We made a penguin, snowflake, ladybug and something for her "#1 DAD".

Then while we waited for them to dry, we grabbed some lunch, had a visit with Santa, and took this photo.

I probably could have saved myself a lot of $ and only taken her to Best Buy to get my new modem.  She was thrilled just trying out everything in the store :).

It was a great day and totally reminded me of when my nieces were young. Sigh. So wrong how time flies.  I loved feeling like I was 7 again, at least for a few hours :)

Well, that's it for now and you can check out all of the newest stamps from DRS Designs by clicking here!

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hi Everyone,

DRS Designs is the sponsor this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I'm playing along using some of the newly released Christmas stamps from DRS Designs.

Here is this weeks sketch:

I'm happy to say this sketch didn't terrify me :)  Here's my take on it:

The Ho, Ho Ho greeting and the Funky Christmas Tree are brand new, and I used the
Interlocking Snow Background and the Woven Plaid to make my custom papers.  In the photo below, you can see how I fussy cut the tree layers and attached them with pop dots.

I added rhinestones for the ornaments and I used a glitter pen to embellish the star on top.

Link up your card over at Tuesday Morning Sketches for your chance to win!

Thanks for stopping by!

Turkey Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Are you ready for the big turkey eating day?  I'm excited to have my family over for the big meal and I'm also looking forward to having leftovers :)  That's a highlight for me.

From the title of my post, and the lead in about how I love extra food, you would think I was entering some big eating challenge...Nope, I'm happy to say, it's calorie free :) In honor of Thanksgiving here in the U.S., the challenge at the DRS Designs blog is "Turkeys", and the good news is that the challenge is 2 weeks long.  Lots of time to play with us for a chance at a $10.00 voucher to the store...yay!

Let's just say, here's hoping my bird on Thanksgiving comes out looking as good as this

I also used the Checkerboard Background and the Beauty of an Autumn Day Greeting to complete my card.

To see the rest of the DT cards (cute and funny ones!) and to enter the challenge, just click here.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Thanksgiving!

Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Winter Wonderland Blog Hop! If you hopped here by way of Anne, then you are in the right place. Otherwise, you might like to start from the beginning at the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog, to become eligible for 6 fabulous prizes!

My card shares for the hop today were both made with digis.  Yep, Sparkle N Sprinkle has a whole line of digital images by Michelle Perkett now.  How cool is that?

This darling Snowman with Heart (100) was colored with Copic Markers and a layer of Blizzard Beach Mudd Puddles was added for a crunchy snowy embellishment.  I also added some Sparkling Snow Glitter (G1003) before the Mudd Puddles dried, and a bit of bling to the heart too.

My next card features Buddy the Christmas Pup (017) and he's just too sweet in his holiday sweater :)  He was fussy cut and layered onto an embossed cut out of Sticker Paper layered with more Sparkling Snow Glitter (G1003).  I also used Sticker Paper for the pine branches which were made with the Velvet Glitter in Luau Green (GM2004).  My punched button embellishment was made using Winterberry Embossing Powder (EP411) which was a perfect match for Buddy's sweater!  Sparkle N Sprinkle has colors to mach everything! lol!

As always, full details can be found in my gallery at Sparkle N Sprinkle.  Now, on to the talented Debi for more holiday inspiration!

Happy Holiday Hopping!
(Below is the full blog hop list in case there is a glitch along the way :) )

Fall Apples

Hi Everyone,

One of my favorite things about fall is definately the apples.  I love to get them from the orchard and make a pie or two.  One year my friend taught me how to can, and we put up more than a dozen jars of homemade applesauce.  It was that time spent in the kitchen at her home that inspired my card today.

I colored up my stamped Apple Trio image from DRS Designs with my Copic markers and cut it out with my Spellbinders dies.  I decided to use that same image for my background as well, so out came some of my Martha Stewart white embossing powder.  I think using that same silhouette image along the bottom of the card looks really cool.

The new Checkered Background stamp looks just like a tablecloth, so I thought it added to the whole  kitchen-y vibe of the card. A punched border, some over sized brads and the Happy Fall Y'all finished it off.

 Have a great day!

Holiday Card

Hi Everyone,

I'm back to posting for Sparkle N Sprinkle again, and I love that the holidays are almost upon us.  It's the best time of year for making cards :)

Due to hurricane Sandy, we postponed the blog hop until next week.  We want to make sure as many people as possible have their power back and can join in the fun of inspiration and prizes! So note that change and plan to hop with us.

Until then, let me whet your appetite with this cute snowman card made with the
Merry Crows (385) stamp set and some Velvet Glitter.  It's one of the new hot products here at Sparkle N Sprinkle.

I created the background papers using the Starry Believe (3045-385c) stamp from that same set and some Red Apple (EP276) embossing powder.  To try and keep things speedy when making multiple holiday cards, I chose to simply outline Slim (3051-385c) the snowman with a grey Copic (C1) and add some Gypsy Red (GM2005) Velvet Glitter to his scarf using dimensional glue.

The snowflake behind him was die cut from Sticker Paper (99558) and coated in that very fine glitter. It's so soft to the touch, it really feels like velvet, hence the name :) . Try it and you will be amazed!

I used a bit of ribbon, foam letters and a doily to add some interest, but still keep it flat and easy to mail for the holidays :)

Karin

P.S. I've been getting spammed on my blog like crazy lately.  I've tried sticking my head in the sand for the past week, hoping that it would simply go away.  That's always my first strategy, so I've not been visiting  or commenting anywhere either. So right now I've turned on comment moderation for old posts. I'll see if that helps for now and know that I'll be by to check on your blogs real soon.

Candy Corn Cards

Hi Everyone,
I'm popping in with a sentiment on my first card that can be paired with so many stamps. You're So Sweet was just the thing for these darling little Candy Corn Bees. Are they bees dressed as candy corn for Halloween, or are they candy corns disguised as bees so that no one will eat them? lol! Either way they have the most adorable little faces :)
I stamped them on the layered base, added those dashes myself for the fluttering trails and glittered up their wings.
While that was drying, I stamped those five bees on a separate sheet of paper, colored them up and fussy cut them out. Then I pieced them on top with a pop dot for a bit of dimension.

I couldn't resist using this little Candy Corn Buzz Bee stamp one more time before the season is through. :) :) :)
I took my color inspiration for the card from him and the newly released Candy Corn Border stamp. The two just paired so perfectly together. Both were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. The bee is up on a pop dot and so are a couple of the candy corns along the border, and if you look closely, there is also a bit of bling on the tips.

I used yellow dye ink on yellow paper for a tone on tone look, using Interlocking Circles and
Easy Dot Background stamps to create the pattern. And the sentiment is sheer perfection if you ask me...Who's favorite vegetable isn't candy corn at this time of year, right? lol!

Have a great day!

O Holy Hambo

Hi Everyone,

The challenge at the Hambo Hoedown this week is "neon colors."  I thought this card I made a while back, with its bright turquoise background fit the bill this week, so I'm happy to finally show it off.  At least I hope the background and my coloring of the bright swaddling clothes count...It's been too long since I've played along!

I like to make half "religious" and half winter themed cards for Christmas, so when I saw this darling Manger (4316) stamp from Hambo, I knew this was the one for this year.  Would you look at that baby Jesus? So stinkin' cute!    (Every time I read, or say "baby Jesus" I can't help but think about the grace scene in Talledega Nights...Is that bad? lol!:) )

I added a piece of burlap and roughed up the edges of the layered stamped image and the Adore Him (4313) sentiment, thinking that would compliment the humble, rustic manger.  But then I went and blinged up the sheep with Stickles anyway.  And then I went further by adding a punched star, glittered up with Evening Glow glitter (G1086) from Sparkle N Sprinkle. I can never seem to leave well enough alone.  At least I kept it flat and easy to mail.

I'm no where near done with my Christmas cards this year, and I make 75 gifts each year for my husband's co-workers.  This year I'm super freaked out about it, because I don't have any idea yet of what that will be. In years past I've done homemade dish soap, wrapped Hershey nuggets in a box, tile coasters, stamped candles,  mugs and cocoa, and last year was candy and hand sanitizers in a cute bag.  So, if you have any bright ideas that aren't those, I'm open to ANYTHING!  I told you I'm freaking :)

Thanks for stopping by this little blog of mine :)

May You Find Peace

Hi Everyone,

Another quickie post featuring some stamps from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  I made this a while back while working with the Religious Sympathy stamp set (#383).  I stamped the top half of the card and dry embossed the bottom portion.

The Find Peace sentiment stamp was layered onto a die cut that was made from Sticker Paper and Sassy Silver Glitter.  You can purchase the sentiment stamp separately here., and you can always view my card gallery for step by step instructions.

We are getting ready for our big holiday blog hop at Sparkle N Sprinkle on November 8th, so mark your calenders!  There will be tons of inspiration and we have a whole host of new designers that have recently joined the team.  Lots of excitement and gobs of prizes!  You won't want to miss the fun!

Enjoy the rest of you weekend :)

Shine On Harvest Moon ATC

Hi Everyone,

I have a bunch of quick posts coming the next couple of days.  Lots of facts and not so much chit chat I'm afraid.  I think I've been burning the candle at both ends for too long now, and it's finally caught up with me.  I was just sick in September and well, now the congestion is back again. Ugh.

Anyway, DRS Designs is the sponsor this week at Wicked Wednesday's ATC challenge blog, where the theme is Full Moon. By playing along you have a chance at a $10.00 voucher to the
DRS  Designs store.

I barely make any tags, let alone ATC's, so this was totally out of my comfort zone.  I think it's the small space that freaks me out.  However, I persevered and created something flat and simple that I can put on a card at a later date:

I made this by using white embossing powder and then paper piecing the moon on top of it.  These are the two stamps I used:

For more inspiration and to link up your ATC, check out the Wicked Wednesday challenge!

Have a great day :)

I Melt for You!

Hi Everyone,
What a week it's been since I last posted...Whew! It was exhausting and totally fun :) Before I share, let me show off a card that includes a couple of the latest stamps from DRS Designs. I think you'll agree, they are so super cute :)
The base was stamped with the Marshmallow Background, in a white pigment ink on a dark brown background. After stamping the Toasting Marshmallow and coloring it with my Copic markers, I die cut it with my Nestabilities Labels One die and added a bit of paper piercing around the layer for some interest.
The Mini Marshmallow was stamped multiple times to create that border piece and the I Melt for You greeting was layered in colors to match the card itself. Both of these stamps can be found in the new releases here. Looking back at this picture, I wish I had added a bit of glitter to the flames. How could I have let that go? Me and my love of bling...What was I thinking? Thank goodness the cuteness of the stamps make up for the lack there of :)

I mentioned in my post last week that DRS Designs was coming to a stamp show in the greater Cleveland area, and a couple of my design team mates and I were fortunate to be able to attend!
What a thrill it was to meet these talented ladies in person, as well as have the privilege of doing a demo with Jennifer our DT Coordinator at the DRS Designs booth.
Here is a photo of the booth (well, most of it anyway) and our demo/make n take area in the front.

It was so, so cool seeing my design team mates cards in person on that back wall. I know we all post them to the blogs, but there is nothing like seeing them up close. Wowza! So impressive!
And a close up of the Argyle Background and Argyle Diamond stamps that were our demo:

I love these stamps! I've used them so many times this year...I'm sure you recognize them from many of my recent cards.

And lastly, here is a photo of us. I think I promised Sue that I wouldn't put it on Facebook, but I don't remember promising not to put it on the blog...Ack! Please forgive me Sue ;)

I was lucky enough to have Shelia and Jennifer stay in the area Saturday, so after the show they both came to my house for a night of food and stamping. I was in heaven! So. Much. FUN! It was midnight before we knew it! I only wish we all lived around the corner from each other, so that this could happen on a regular basis :) Next time it needs to be all of us DT ladies...Hear that, Julie, Pam and Janett??! You were missed :)
Thanks so much for peeking in on the blog today and remember to join us for our challenges every Thursday at the DRS Designs blog!
Have a good one :)

Two Challenges

Hi Everyone,
Did you see the title to my post today? Yes, this week you have two chances to win yourself some DRS Designs stampy goodness. This first card is to remind you of the challenge at the blog...We have a challenge every Thursday, and you still have time to get in on our theme this week...Witches!

Now this card doesn't have the witch herself, but it does have her "Witchly" Accessories :) I made the background with the Spooky Eyes and Eeeek background stamped in purple and black. I dyed my own seam binding ribbon to match the card base and the In the Accessories greeting is one of my all time favorites from the current catalog. I finished it off with some rhinestone bats. You know me, I gotta have my bling!

This next card was made in support of the current challenge at the Cupcake Inspirations challenge blog. DRS Designs is the sponsor this week, so I encourage you to join in for a chance at at great prize.

Here is the inspiration photo:

And this is my take using Interlocking Stars, Starry Background and Love You to the Moon Greeting:

It was my hubby's birthday yesterday, so this was the card I gave him. I tried to keep it as clean and simple as possible and when he opened it he said, "I like it... It doesn't have a lot of 'stuff' on it." High praise...lol!

For those of you in the Cleveland Ohio area, DRS Designs will be coming to a stamp show in Strongsville. It's this Friday and Saturday at the Erhnfelt Event Center and I will be at the booth along with Sue, Jennifer and Shelia. I can't begin to tell you how excited we are to be there, so please stop by and say hello. We would love to meet you!

Hope you're having a great week!

Sew Glad We Are Friends

Hi Everyone,

I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things, and spent some time on World Card Making Day stamping cards for future shares on my blog using stamps from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  I can't wait to show off what I've been working on.  Did you know that Sparkle N Sprinkle now has digis by Michelle Perkett for sale in their shop?  Eek! So totally cute :) You can find them here, but you'll have to wait a bit to see my cards ;) .

Until then, I've got a friendship card made with the super cute and versatile Fill the Jar set.  Fussy cutting and paper piecing are what I used here for the lid, label, jar and contents.

I know it doesn't show up, but I added Crystal Ice glitter to my patterned paper behind the jar using Tear-iffic Tape. I think this card could have benefited from some actual sewing on it, but it was not to be the day I made this..lol! However, I did use real buttons, ribbon and twine.  Full details can be found by clicking here.

As always, thanks for stopping by and I will "see" you soon :)

Jumping into Leaves

Hi Everyone,

Today's card share was made for the current "Leaves" challenge at the DRS Designs blog.  I just love this adorable joyful image!  I use the Jumping into Autumn stamp and colored it with my Copics. However, after making it and adding the embossed die cut leaf, I decided to add some more dimension to the card by popping up that that little cutie pie.  I stamped and colored him a second time, fussy cut him, and up on some pop dots he went. Just what this card needed.

I just love cards with texture this time of year, so the ribbon is crushed velvet and I added a button threaded with twine.

While not nearly as fun as jumping in leaves, we did ride the Cuyahoga Valley National Railroad this weekend out to the Peddler's Festival in Peninsula and I nabbed this photo with my phone :)  Too much sky, not enough foliage, but still a great fall day.

Hope you are enjoying the autumn colors today!

Details not listed above-Paper: The Paper Company, Ink: Memento, Die: Provocraft, Ribbon, button and twine from my supplies.

Smell my Feet

Hi Everyone,

I'm alive, I'm alive!  I really thought this would be a quiet week, but things never work out as planned right? Oh well, with the rain on it's way, maybe that will give me some more time in my little craft area :)

DRS Designs released their new Halloween stamps last weekend and they are a great batch!  Some creepy, some funny....Something for everyone.

Today's card is made with the new Smell my Feet Greeting and what's better to eat at this time of year than a big old Candy Apple?  That glossy accent really makes it look so good, I can't help but think how long it's been since I've had one. I may have to remedy that this year.

The background was made by stamping the Accent Bats in black and the Easy Dot background in red.

Halloween Pumpkins

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for my absence, but I spent some time away in North Carolina visiting with old friends. I love how you can just pick up where you left off, and conversation just flows so easily.  This was at Marybeth's house (Mike's mom) and she cooked us a delicious meal of Chicken Parmesan.  She set a pretty table on top of cooking enough for an army :)

We also stopped off to visit my niece at Ohio University, but sadly we had to skip our intended trip to visit the Biltmore Estate.  Since the rain came down in biblical proportions on one of the days that we were planning to be there, it ended up being for the best.  Oh well.  It will be our vacation for next year :)

She's just so cute and the campus is tree laden and totally bucolic looking.  They should film a movie there, it looks that much like the perfect back drop to some coming of age film. After all, it's the #1 party school in America.  Yes, it literally has that reputation.  Maybe she can be a positive influence now that she's there.  wink :)

Rod and I also celebrated our 22nd anniversary over the weekend and we finally had dinner at
DC Pasta. It's been on our must eat there list forever.  Sorry no photo, but click on the link to see the menu. (We had the Carbonara, Gnocchetti, Strozzapreti, salads and a bunch of marinated veggies.)   Best pasta I've had since our trip to Italy in the spring. You can trust my tastebuds and my waistline!

Ok, finally on to the card for today.  The challenge beginning today at the DRS Designs blog is Pumpkins.  How easy is that for this time of year?  I haven't bought my real life pumpkins yet, in fact, I'm still hanging on to those summer flowers as long as I can ;)

Anyway, I couldn't resist inking up this Precious Pumpkin with his candy corn nose...Isn't he adorbs?

I used the following background stamps on my card base:

You can check out all of the cards from the DT right here, as well as link up your pumpkin card for a chance at a prize!  Hope to see you there....
