Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Fall Fun

Good Morning!

It sure is fall like around here, but we have had some sunshine the past day or so...Hurray!

I made this card for the challenge over at Digital-Ink Co. (Make a fall themed card) and One Day At A Time where we were to use something from the mail in our creation. I was saving junk for a couple of days, so sure I was going to have some great plan and be super creative, but instead I wimped out and used a picture of some grapevine pumpkins from the Crate and Barrel catalogue. I couldn't help it....they were calling to me! A bit predictable, but very festive none the less. I liked the distressed stripes from the Cuttlebug folder for a background; just adds a great texture. I had a bunch of leaf brads I purchased last year at Target that I had not used yet, so I thought they fit the theme of this card well.

Thanks for peeking in today...

PTI's WCMD Challenge #4-Australia

Final challenge...I did them all! The country is Australia and I chose to use a rugged, brown color theme along with accenting my main image with white dots (See bottom middle picture here). The flower has a dotted theme itself, so I thought it would also pair well with the paisley embossing folder which has flowers embedded in it. I like the feminine bow mixed with the rough edges on the card too.

And the close up...

Thanks for taking a card making trip around the world with me!

Make Your Season Bright

Hello!

These are a couple of cards I made for challenges out in blog-o- land...This first one is for Artful Inkables...Specifically the requirments were:

1 image, 2 different ribbons, 3 layers, and some kind of scallops.

The card is one layer sent through the Cuttlebug, but the image has three layers so I hope it qualifies :) The image was cut out with Nesties and is up on pop dots.

I made this card for the blog Encourage Joy, where the challenge was to use two triangles on the card being made. I cheated slightly in that the Cuttlebug die I used for the trees has a stump. Still...they are mostly only a triangle!

This is a square 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" card which worked out perfectly using the Square Scalloped Nesties.

Below is a closer look...

Love ya all for dropping by...

Chocolate Chip Friends

Hey everyone!

I am going to apologize in advance for the sub par photographs! It was 10:00 pm before I finished these, and well, you know what that means when it comes to proper lighting...(Note to self: Work on that light box ya keep meaning to get!)

Anyway, I mentioned yesterday that my ladies Bible study was starting again (on a break for the summer) and I wanted to give everyone a welcome back treat. I made chocolate chunk cookies and packaged them up in a bag with a topper. If you scroll down you can see the sentiment in the next photo...

Isn't that cute?
The sentiment is from Inkadinkado and also came with this crazy little cartoon image. So, I also gave everyone a blank card that they could pass on to someone else...

Here's a slightly better view...

It was a simple layout I've used before, but I figure whoever receives it, hasn't seen it, so it will be new to them, right? lol!

Hope you are having a great week and I will see you on the Internet!

Double Challenge Post

Hi Everyone!

My card today fulfills the requirements for two challenges... The Cinema Saturday Challenge was the movie School of Rock and the requirement was to use cork in the creation.
The second is the Mojo Monday challenge and this is the sketch to follow...

And finally, my card! I decided to use the cork in the traditional sense...as a cork board. The sentiment is adhered on and accented with a metal sticker, meant to imitate a tack. The corner is curled up to give the card a grunge look. The white back ground was sent through my "Bug" for texture and like I said, the layout is from this weeks Mojo Challenge.

I never know how much to write on this blog about personal stuff. Do people care that much about my life...or do they just want to see the cards??? Well, if you just want paper craft info that's it, you can stop reading and go to the next blog.

This week is a "Stay-cation" week at our house so I've been busy doing fun stuff. (Baseball game, Outlet mall, Farmers Market, bonfire w/toasted marshmellows, sushi for dinner....Well, stuff I consider fun... :D )I'm not sure how much time I will have to post things this week. I do start my ladies Bible study today, and I made something cute for everyone in the group. That I can show you tomorrow, but after that...well, I guess I'll just wing it! I'm trying to squeeze every last drop out of summer!

Once again, I appreciate everyone that stops by and your comments always make the day a little brighter...

Happy Crafting!

Upsy Daisy

Happy Weekend!

This is the sketch from the challenge over at Jessica Lynn Originals... I decided to use the Upsy Daisy set from Stampin Up and a simple black and white color scheme.

The background is embossed in the "Bug" using the Swiss dot folder, and the ribbons are my take on the background grid of the sketch. I decided to fancy up the corners to match the scalloped circle in the center.

That's it folks, nothing fancy or too funny... but thanks for visiting today!

Another Sunflower

Can you stand another sunflower??? This is a great late summer/early fall card with the sunflower as a focal point. I popped up the "face" of the flower to give it more dimension and used pencils to color the image. They always give a nice, soft look to a project. The sunflower is from Stampin Up and the background is the same cuttlebug folder in the post yesterday... Thanks for dropping in and have a wonderful weekend!
