Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Coffee Cards

Hi Everyone,

I'm happy to share these cards today, because they celebrate my favorite hot beverage...Coffee!

This first card features some new stamps from DRS Designs, and I couldn't wait to pair them up with this Paper Coffee Cup image that we've all been so eager to stamp with.  Paper piecing works great on this stamp, so I decorated it using the Shamrock Scroll (550F), and attached it to a die cut rectangle that was stamped using the new Better Irish Blessings Greeting (555G).

I made my background by stamping a white piece of cardstock with the new Silhouette Shamrock Field (558K) stamp and covering it in a gold glitter with green tints.  While I drink my coffee black every morning, adding little Irish Cream to a cup after dinner, is a delicious treat for sure :)

I thought this little Ladybug Stack would be perfect, because part of this card sentiment mentions friends.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut it out and attached them to a die cut panel.  I also die cut some cups and decorated them using some background stamps, echoing the bug image by stacking them too.

Adding some sponging to the greeting, I attached it in between the two images and added some gems before adhering it all to a dry embossed heart background.  What friend wouldn't want to receive this as a coffee date invite around Valentine's Day :)

Here is the list of stamps used on this card:

Cupig

Hi Everyone,

This Hugs, Kisses and Valentine Wishes Greeting is one of the newer stamps that DRS Designs has recently released, and as a sentiment, there's just none better!  It's perfect for your kids, friends or even your sweetheart :)  Make all your Valentine's at once, and it doesn't get any easier!

I paired it with the Cupig stamp, because it's one of my favorites.  So chubby and adorable, he totally makes me feel guilty for loving bacon so much...lol! I stamped, colored him with Copic markers and die cut him to match my sentiment.  I went ahead and added some glitter glue to his wings, and set him aside to dry.

I dry embossed the background with a candy heart folder and made some patterned paper using the Scattered Hearts.  I stamped them in red ink and used some pink markers to color them in.  After gluing the paper together, I added a ribbon and attached the image and greeting with some dimensional foam tape.  All it needed was a few gems to finish it off!

Thanks for stopping by to visit today!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi Everyone!

Now that the new year is in full swing, I'm looking forward to another year of stamping.  It really is the only hobby that I've ever been able to stick with for such a long period of time.  There are always new products coming out, so I'm never bored, and my goal is to be more creative in my use of stamps.
So, with that being said, I have a couple of cards to share with you today.  I thought this would be a fun card to make for a crafty friend.  Maybe a stamper or someone who likes to draw :)

This newly released Hand Colored By Pencil stamp from DRS Designs is actually one of those signature type stamps for the back of your cards, but I stamped only the bottom portion without the words along the top and colored them in using a rainbow color theme.  I grabbed my watercolor pen and my ink pads to create the squiggle line and punched out a mini heart in the corresponding colors for the ends.

I added the Small Happy Valentine's Day Greeting that I stamped with the Small Silhouette Heart and used my circle punches to add that sentiment.

I have a couple of January birthdays coming up, so here is one of the cards I created for those.

I colored up and die cut the Penguin Snowball Blast stamp,  adding it onto a panel that was stamped using the snowflake stamp, and edged with a punched snowflake border.  The Snow Doubt Birthday Greeting was used on the front...

and the second portion of it was added to the inside, along with Percy Penguin.

Here is a peek at that Pencil stamp on the back of my hand colored card:

Here's hoping your dry, warm and have time to get your fingers inky today!

Coffee

Hi Everyone,

I'm just in love with this new stamp Paper Coffee Cup stamp that was just released  from DRS Designs! I can think of a bunch of coffee lovers that I will be using it for, all throughout the year.

I did some paper piecing when it came to this main image.  I stamped it on white cardstock, cutting out the lid and cup, coloring it in red to look like the cup from that popular coffee chain.  No names. They don't need any help from me in the advertising department...lol!  I stamped the cup again on kraft paper, cutting out the gripper portion only and sending it through my paper crimper.  Did you read that?!  Paper crimper!  I had to dig through the bowels of my crafting supplies to pull out that neglected tool :)  So if you want a reason to dust off yours too, you HAVE to get this stamp!

I stamped the cup using the Scroll Corner Tile stamp and colored it in using my white gel pen, before assembling it and attaching it onto some oval die cuts.

The background was created to look like coffee rings.  I spritzed the red cardstock with water and took a round container (any will do, but mine had embossing powder in it.  It was just the right size) inked in brown ink and stamped it randomly.  The water made the circles bleed to look like spilled coffee.

I crimped another piece of kraft cardstock and added a ribbon for embellishment, finishing it off with the new Coffee and Friends Greeting.

Also, here's a photo of the favors I whipped up for New Year's Eve.  It was a last minute decision, so they're super simple.  A pillow box, some washi tape and DRS Designs to the rescue with their Happy New Year Circle stamp!

I filled them with a lip balm, chocolates and scratch off lottery ticket :)

Here's hoping one of your resolutions for the new year is to stamp more!

Have a great day!
