Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Smile...

Hi Everyone,

I have a tropical card to share with you today.  If' you haven't had a chance to go on vacation (that would be me!) this card will take you on a virtual one.

I colored up Pretty Bird Odie Parrot and the flowers from Three Flowers and Butterfly , fussy cut them and set everything aside to work on the background.

Sponging up a piece of cardstock with pink, orange and yellow ink, I then misted it with water to get the effect that you see.  I stamped the sunset with the Silhouette Palm Tree Line and also the Palm Tree stamp, cutting it to fit inside a die cut photo frame.  It had a die cut sentiment already, so I placed a piece of black paper behind to make it pop.

I attached a die cut border to an embossed flower background, and then finished the card by adding the photo frame, along with the bird and popped up flowers.

Thanks for checking in on the blog today!

Boots and Bling

Hi Everyone,

This new Lasso Cowgirl stamp from DRS Designs  is super adorable!  I just love the little smile on her face, she's super girly, and  I made this with my 8 year old self in mind :)  Purple was my favorite color, until pink took over as the new favorite, so that's how they ended up on this card together.

I colored her up using my Copic markers, die cut and matted her, along with the Boots and Bling Cowgirl Greeting too.  The background was dry embossed and I added a lace doily and border on top of that, since lace is good and girl like as well.

The sentiment pretty much makes it a requirement to add lots of gems, so out of my drawer and onto the card they flew in a flash!

Here's hoping your week is going well!

Life is not measured....

Hi Everyone,

I've mentioned in the past that I have so many more cat lovers in my life, than dog lovers, that I'm always looking to add to my cat card ideas.  This kitty was made using the old owl punch from Stampin' Up.  I had jotted down in to my idea notebook awhile back, waiting for the perfect time to put it to use.  And then DRS Designs released this this Brick Wall Background stamp and I knew the moment was right.

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the wall, attaching it to a blue sky background that was stamped using the Starry Background stamp.  If you have that punch, the cats are the owl's body and I hand cut the tails, adding whiskers with a fine tip marker.

I stamped the new Life is Measured Greeting and die cut it using a rectangle die, adding a punched moon that I embellished with glitter glue.

Thanks for visiting today!

Cowboy Boots

Hi Everyone and Happy Independence Day American friends!

While I don't have a red, white and blue patriotic card to share today, what is more American than Cowboys?!  DRS Designs has some fun new western themed stamps being released tomorrow...yay!

My card features the new Better in Cowboy Boots Greeting (236D), which I stamped and die cut.  I chose to pair it  up with the Cowboy Garb stamp, which I colored with Copic markers and die cut as well.

The background was made by inking up one side of my embossing folder and running the cardstock through the machine.  I added a strip of paper that I embellished with brads and attached a piece of twine to resemble a lasso, or at the very least, match the rope in the image :)

Be sure to visit DRS Designs tomorrow to purchase all of the new stamps!
