Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Blooming with Good Health

Hi Everyone,

My card today was made with my niece in mind.  She's been trying to recover after a bad infection in her inner ear, that's left her struggling with vertigo and balance issues :(  Poor thing....We're praying that her work with physical therapists who specialize in this sort of thing, will help her heal and feel better soon.

Anyway, I went a feminine route on this card using the Scroll Corner Tile stamp from DRS Designs in a deep purple ink on a light purple background paper.  I used the same ink for the Blooming with  Good Health Greeting that I die cut using my circle Spellbinders die.  I wanted to pair up some flowers with the sentiment, so I colored up the violets that are in the Violet Tea Cup stamp and fussy cut them, attaching them below the sentiment.

Using the colors from the flowers I cut some strips of card stock to place behind the greeting, adding some ribbon and gems to match the feminine theme of the card.

Thanks so much for dropping by today!

Golfer

Hi Everyone,

I have a monochromatic masculine birthday card made with stamps from DRS Designs to share with you today.   Since I have a hard time with card for men, I always like to have a couple in my stash for when I'm not inspired :)

Blue is always a safe guy color, so I chose that for my base and stamped the Splatter Background along with a strip using the Everything Golf Background, layering it with a black and blue border.  I felt that it need something to finish it off, so I stamped the small flourish from the Scroll Corner Tile stamp in the corners, colored it in and added a small grey dew drop.

The main image was stamped to match and I stamped the Par-Fect Golf Birthday greeting on top, die cutting it with a circle Spellbinders die and attaching it with some dimensional tape.
And, this card also serves as a reminder to join our Birthday Card Challenge on the DRS Designs  blog!  Hope to see you there!

Angel

Hi Everyone,

I have an inspirational card to share with you today.  I paired the new Strength and Dignity Greeting with an angel that I die cut using a die from Spellbinders.  I saved the negative piece and used it as a stencil, adding ink in the approximate places for the wings, face and dress.  After I removed the stencil, I placed the angel on top, and used a rectangle die to cut her out, making her match the sentiment panel.

I left my comfort zone as far as card shape and size.  To make all of my pieces fit, I used a 12x12 inch piece of card stock and ended up with a 6 inch square card.  For the background I used the new Scroll Corner Tile stamp, coloring in portions of the vines using a purple Copic marker.  I also added the small flourish in the corners of the sentiment for a bit of extra detail.  Before adhering the image and sentiment with dimensional tape, I added a strip of matching embossed card stock, punched border and a couple of matching gems.

Thanks for visiting!
