Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

True Friends

Hi Everyone,

Today's card is inspired by the card I made for the current challenge at the DRS Designs blog. It's a color challenge, and you can check out all of the gorgeous creations from the team here, and check out my original card too. I liked the layout so much, that this really is the same card, only with a different greeting stamp.

I used the Splatter Background stamp to make my first piece of patterned paper, and the Shamrock Background to make the second. I cut it down slightly smaller than the first and added another mat.

I wrapped the layers in a matching polka dot ribbon and added the new Four Leaf Clover Friends Greeting which was stamped in the same green ink, die cut and adhered with some dimensional foam tape.

I considered adding some other embellishment, to change it up, but I really liked the clean monochromatic look :)

Hope to see you join in the challenge!

Lucky Ducks

Hi Everyone,

Are you as ready for spring as I am? Even though it's nowhere in sight outside my window, it's all over my card today!

I was trying to think outside the box when using the new Lucky to Have You Greeting and there were a number of stamps in the DRS Designs catalog that matched up, but I settled on these adorable ducks from the Ducks Decoration stamp. I thought it would make a sweet friendship card for spring or even Easter. I colored the image with my Copic markers and since it looked like the one duck came to the other one's rescue with a flower umbrella, I chose to use the Raindrop Background stamp for making my patterned paper.

The only other thing I added was a punched scalloped border and a row of gems :)

Thank you for peeking in today and I'm wishing you sunshine in your day!

Have a Shamrockin' Day

Hi Everyone,

I had so much fun using the new stamps that were released here at DRS Designs, that I couldn't stop stamping.  I made six, yes, six cards this past weekend.  It's been a long time since I've been in a stamping groove like that!  The St. Patrick's Day, Easter and spring stamps were just what I needed to cure the winter blahs :)  Pop on over to the store and check out all the new designs by clicking here.

I began by stamping Leonard the Pig Billboard and coloring him with my Copic markers.  I used the Open Shamrock on his blank sign and again to make the matching background.  He seemed too plain, so made him a hat, using the one from the Patty Bear.  Doesn't he look like he's ready to march in a parade?!

The bottom of my card was made with the Woven Plaid background stamp and I used the new
Shamrockin' Day Greeting , that I colored, die cut and layered.   Before that was adhered to the card, I also added a punched border, large brad and a few random sequins.

He's just too cute.  I'm gonna have a hard time parting with this card!

Thanks for stopping by, and you still have time to enter this weeks challenge.  The theme is "White Out".

Hope your day is "rockin"!

Bee Mine

Hi Everyone,

I'm sharing what might be my last Valentine card of the season made using stamps from
DRS Designs.  It's less than two weeks away, and that means we're that much closer to spring and warm weather.  So if the winter blues have grabbed hold of you, here's a cheerful card to put you in the pink :)

Red and pink are traditional colors for Valentine's day, so I went with those even though I used the  Happy Bee  stamp for my image.  She's a valentine bee, so why can't she be pink & red, right?  I colored her with a Copic marker and added some glitter to the wings.

The background was embossed with a honeycomb embossing folder and I used the Interlocking Hearts stamp on the bottom portion, which was divided by a strip of glitter coated tape.  Finally I added some die cut letters to complete my "punny" greeting.

Thanks for stopping by today!
