Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

CAS Thank U

Hi Everyone,

I have a clean and simple thank you card to share with you today.  It uses the Ruler stamp from the most recent release and I'm thinking it would be a great stamp for any sewing enthusiast or even a teacher.  I'm sure no one is ready to hear about back to $(#@@! yet, so notice I'm not mentioning it :) :) :)   Let's enjoy the summer while we can, right?

Anyway, I stamped the ruler on yellow card stock, heat embossed it using clear embossing powder, and did some easy peasy fussy cutting.  I dry embossed my white background and die cut a punny sentiment using alphabet dies.  The hardest part was trying to line up the letters.  I'd like to tell you I used that ruler to make sure the letters were straight, but I ended up just eyeballing it after I attached the ruler with dimensional foam tape.

Summer

Hi Everyone,

I love the Seaside Dock stamp, it's such a great scene that reminds me of my cruise up the New England coast :)  It didn't quite fulfill my dream of spending the summer on Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard, but my life isn't over yet, right?  Goals :)

Anyway, those were the thoughts going through my head while working on this card.  I used the World Map Background stamp and stamped it across the background and roughed up the edges. Since it looked like a fishing scene, I wrapped the panel with a piece of netting.  The scene was die cut and and layered on to a mat that I embellished with some brads, (Remember using those on everything way back when?) and I added that using some dimensional tape.

stamped colored and fussy cut the Sailboat adding that with dimensional tape as well.  To finish it off I stamped the word summer from the Summer Story Greeting stamp and used the Splatter Background stamp to add some color to it.

Congratulations

Hi Everyone,

I felt like I've been neglecting the dog lovers in the card making world because most of the animal cards that I've made as of late have featured cats. So after going to a 4th of July picnic at my cousin's house, which happens to be the home of their dog Cooper, I thought a card inspired by him was in order.

I colored up the Doggie Dilemma Dog with Fence stamp using my Copic markers and die cut the image using my Square Spellbinders dies.  I die cut a banner that was stamped and colored using the Dog Bone.  My background was dry embossed using a paw print folder and I added the new New Pet Congratulations Greeting.

I finished it off with a Small Dog Print  that I punched out for embellishment.

Summer

Hi Everyone,

Here's a card to remind you about our current "The Heat is On" challenge, on the DRS Designs blog.  The theme is summer, so I stamped up this tropical card to inspire you to play along!

I colored up the soon to be released Flamingo Palm Tree Scene (878L) stamp and then chose my base and background papers to match.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I stamped the background and green strip along the side using the 4 in 1 Seashells background stamp.  And because I wanted to tie my sentiment into the card, I also stamped one of the shells on top of my Summer Story Greeting (881C),

Lastly I stamped the Hula Pig, coloring and fussy cutting her so that she could be attached with some dimensional tape.

Thanks for visiting today, and I hope to see you join us for our Thursday challenges!
