Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Challenge Time!

Hi Everyone,

I have a couple of challenge cards to share with you today.  The first is for the challenge at the
DRS Designs blog, where the theme is "It Gives Me the Creeps!"  So join us with your creepy or scary cards and link them up for your chance at $10.00 voucher to the DRS Designs store.

My card features the soon to be released Halloween Stamps, The Raven and Spooky Tree Limb.  Both of these images were embossed, though I don't think it shows up in the photo.

The background was made using the Woven Plaid and I finished it with the Tiny Happy Halloween.

For a second chance at a 10.00 voucher to the DRS Designs store, join the Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge where DRS is the sponsor this week!

The challenge there is Beautiful Blooms...

Here I used the Dogwood Branch and then added the ATC to a card.

The patterned paper was made using the Large Original Plaid and I added the sentiment
Birthday Wishes to finish this second card off.

Thanks for visiting and hope to see you at the challenges!

The witch is always in!

Hi Everyone,

DRS Designs is getting ready to release some great stamps for the Halloween holiday and I'm featuring the new Witch Feet (140H) on my card today. A witch is such a classic Halloween costume, but I never dressed up as one when I went trick or treating as a child. Ragged black clothes and a green face, just wasn't my thing. And it's still not. See her orange dress and glittery, purple boots? Who says a witch can't be fashionable...lol.

The image was die cut and layered onto a background made by randomly stamping the Empty Spider Web in black ink. I added a die cut spider, a few orange half pearls and The Witch is Always In greeting to complete it.

Sadly, it's rare for me to dress up anymore. Maybe I need to consider getting an outfit like this :) What about you? Do you still dress up for Halloween?

Thanks for stopping by!

Autumn Leaves

Hi Everyone,

I'm really enjoying making fall themed cards lately, and due to the color combos, I think it's my favorite time of year for crafting :)

My card today is simple, and I think it can be used for an ordinary hello all the way to Thanksgiving itself. I love to have cards like this in my stash!

I began with a pumpkin colored base card, and and layered on a piece of patterned paper made using the Original Plaid stamp in green and brown ink. I added some die cut and embossed leaves in fall colors, along with the stamped and punched sentiment, Autumn Greetings.

Before attaching all my pieces, I tied on a pumpkin charm using a piece of rustic twine. All the goodness of fall, right on one card!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out birthday challenge on the DRS Designs blog!

Autumn Greetings

Hi All,

It's hard to believe that summer is winding down, the time always goes too fast for me! While I look forward to all the things that fall holds, (crisp air, pumpkins, apples, wearing sweaters, etc.) I think that it doesn't last long enough either :)

So to slowly usher in the thought of moving to another season, I'm sharing an autumnal card today, made with stamps from DRS Designs. I thought I'd feature a couple of those favorite things I mentioned above. Since it give a fabric like look when you stamp with it, I used the Woven Plaid stamp for my background, just to give a nod to those warm sweaters I love. And nothing says fall more than a juicy apple! The Apple Trio all colored up and fussy cut, looks good enough to eat!

I stamped a strip of Open Plaid and added it along one side, and the Small Autumn Greetings, which I circle punched, serves as my sentiment. I also added a metal tab to the corner for another bit of red embellishment on the card.

Hope you enjoy your day!

Holiday Cards

Hi Everyone,

My designs teammates here at DRS Designs have been hitting it out of the park with their creative card designs lately. Check them out here, because they have been wowing me big time!

We have been having so much fun with the Christmas stamps that make all sorts of wintry village scenes. I just love the Christmas Village Pond and Bridge on my card today. I stamped it first and then added some trees using the Pine Tree Snow Drifts stamp, and the Christmas Village Four in One Accessories. Not only does this stamp have trees, but it also includes the snowman, and the tiny skaters. Don't they look like they are practicing their routine for a pairs skating competition? So cute!

I stamped the Christmas Village Church and colored everything with Copic markers and added some glitter glue on the bridge and church and glossy effects to the ice. I die cut the edge of my card and stamped the base using the Snow Background stamp. I finished it with some twine and the Small Merry Christmas greeting which I also edged in glitter.

I also have a quick second card to share. DRS Designs is the sponsor at Send a Smile 4 Kids this week. It's a group that collects and sends cards to ill children. I know you won't be able to resist playing along with the easy theme of CAS for Kids! A worthy cause, and you will be in the running to win a DRS Designs prize.

Here's hoping these cards put a smile on your face today!
