Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

The Beauty of Autumn

Hi All!
The leaves are starting to change colors here in Northeast Ohio, and the reports have been that they are on schedule to be extra vibrant this year. Our current challenge at the DRS Designs Blog celebrates this beautiful time of year, so I hope you can join us with your lovely, leafy creations!
My card today was made by stamping the Script Font Background on white card stock and using a square die to cut it out. Then I stamped the Medium Silhouette Leaf in Versamark and heat set it with clear embossing powder. Taking a few sponges, I inked over the leaf with bright fall colors and added the 1 Line Beauty of Autumn sentiment, adding the same sponging to match.

I layered the image and sentiment onto an embossed leaf background and added matching ribbons and metal leaf embellishment.
Thanks for stopping by and link up your leaf card here for a chance at a great prize!

Moonlight and Magic

Hi Everyone,

I have a simple DRS Designs Halloween card to share with you today. Nothing fancy, just a bit of sparkling embossing powder and some yellow glitter glue (scored in the sale bin for .25...Yay me!) to make it festive.

I stamped the Silhouette Spooky Village in Versamark and black ink, heat embossing it with the glittery powder. The stamp has a few bats flying around the houses, but I decided there needed to be more, so I used the Accent Bats and added them to the neighborhood.

After stamping the Moonlight and Magic Greeting, I die cut it with my Oval Spellbinders die, and highlighted the sentiment with some blue ink to match my night time scene. I attached it to my card using some dimensional foam tape.

To keep the card on the friendly side, I added Spencer The Not So Spooky Ghost which I cut out of vellum, and lastly came the yellow glitter glue. Spencer was added to the back of the sentiment, by only his right corner, to make him look like he's floating :)

Thanks for peeking in today!

Spooky Eyes

Hi Everyone,

I've mentioned before that I save pieces parts that I've stamped or colored, that for whatever reason never made it on a card. Well, I came across one of these Eyeballs from DRS Designs and went to toss it, but then I remembered this new Bump into Me Greeting. What if these spooky eyeballs belonged to some unknown creature of the night? Yep, I sure wouldn't want to bump into to it!

So crazy, right? You just never know where or when inspiration will hit! I just used some paper in Halloween colors, a drippy goo punch, distressed embossing folder, colored up another eyeball and added a strip of green glitter. Voila, a flat, easy to mail Halloween card was done as simple as that! A card inspired by an eyeball....Now that's a first for me!

Thanks for the visit!

If the shoe fits...

Hi Everyone,

Have you joined in our weekly challenge recently? It's a fun way to build up your stash of cards, as well as having a chance at winning a prize from DRS Designs. This week the challenge theme is "Hot Trends, Sequins and Gems". All the cards from the design team, as well as specific details, can be found on this post here, so be sure to check it out!

My card today features patterned papers made using the Woven Plaid stamp in Halloween colors. I decided to combine the new If the Shoe Fits Greeting with the Witchly Accessories stamp. I stamped my image first and then fit the sentiment in at an angle. After die cutting it with my Spellbinders rectangle die, I stamped in a few of the Tiny Bats to fill in the blank spots.

I attached the image panel with some dimensional dots and added a few lines of gems to fit the challenge theme.

Thanks for visiting us here on the blog...Hope to see you at the challenge!

Don't Bump Into Me

Hi Everyone,

The current challenge on the DRS Designs blog has the theme of "It's Give Me the Creeps!", so we're hoping you join us with your creepy, crawly and/or scary cards! You have a little more time to link up your card here, and the winner will be announced on Thursday, along with our next challenge theme.

I was getting tired of using the typical Halloween colors on my most recent cards, so I decided to mix things up and use neutral colors and a monochromatic color scheme.

On the background I stamped the Spooky Eyes in Versamark, and the new Spooky Tree Limb (136F) along the side in black ink. The new Bump Into Me Greeting (149G) was also stamped in black, and then I used the Accent Bats in Versamark on top. The sentiment was die cut and my Mummy was stamped and fussy cut and added to the card with some foam tape.

Of course I felt like I need something in my empty corner, so I fished a piece of twine behind my mummy and added a black button.

Hope to see you at the challenge!

Good Luck :)
