Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Ducks in a Row

Hi Everyone!

Today I'm sharing a baby card I made for my stash of cards.  I used the cute Ducks in a Row image from I Brake for Digis and colored it with my Copics.  The music notes are a piece of Tim Holtz paper tape and the image is a stamp from my supplies.

Digi stamps work so well with that supplies I have on hand, if you've never tried them I encourage you to check out the images at I Brake for Digis.  Remember to use the code SAVE10KARIN and you will save 10% off your purchase.

Thanks for visiting today :)

I'm a Bacon Bit!

Hi Everyone,

I'm so happy to announce that I am a Bacon Bit!  I can hear you asking, "What on earth is that?"  Well, it's none other than the very cleverly named Design Team for Hambo Stamps.

Are you familiar with their adorable stamps?  I'm working with their super cute rubber stamps, but did you know they offer a line of digis too? I've been lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the some of the samples you will be seeing from the design team, and I'm BLOWN AWAY by their creativity!  (How was I able to sneak into this group...lol!)

When I applied, they sent me a couple of digis to make cards with, so here is a sample to peak your interest. This is the Wee Henry Hockey digi.  So perfect for those boy birthdays!

You will want to keep up with all the fun activities that have been planned, so become a follower of the blog, Talk to the Ham, (Go there to see every one's great Pig Pics!) and check out the new challenge blog, Hambo Hoedown.  Rumor has it that there are prizes to be had...Woo Hoo!

The first challenge starts February 2nd, so be sure to mark your calender for this fun event!

Music Saves My Soul Saturday

Hi Everyone,

I missed not playing along with Music Saves My Soul last Saturday over on Marcea's blog.  I'm back this week with an old song that I have been humming non stop.
My hubby got us a puzzle for Christmas this year, something different to keep us from watching too much stupid TV.  We did one a number of years back one winter, and we really enjoyed talking and laughing while putting it together.  However, it was not THIS BIG!  Sheesh, 2000 pieces of Van Gogh's Starry, Starry Night painting.  It will take me longer to piece this together than it took him to paint the original...lol.

Yep, only 1,950 to go!  Did I mention it needs to be done before Easter?  I host dinner here, and I need the dining room table :)

So, for this reason, here is Starry, Starry Night by Don McLean.

Chocolate...

Hi Everyone,

I have a little something different today, a card made with some clip art from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  I don't usually use clip art for my cards, but when you have something as cute as these ice cream cones, why not?  If you need a fast project, clip art is great for that because there is no coloring involved. I know some stampy folks don't feel comfortable with having a lot to color, so this is perfect for you as well ;)

I copied the image from the set A Little Lovin' three times and cut that out with my Nestie.  I added some chalk to the image and stamped sentiment, and then layered it on some cute Valentine paper.  I bought that paper over a year ago on sale, so I couldn't wait to finally get a chance to use it.

Of course I had to add my stickles and gems for bling.

Here is a look at the entire set:

Check out what the rest of the design team has for their blog post today and Lindsay will have her usual freebie too!

Happy Valenswine's Day

Hi Everyone!

I'm thrilled to be showing off this Valentine's Day card I made using a couple of the new stamps from DRS Designs.  This has to be my favorite stamp from this new group...See?

Isn't this little Cupig (don't ya just love the name too?) the cutest thing?  And the sentiment, Happy Valenswines Day that pairs with it, just the BEST!

I used the Interlocking Hearts stamp to create the background and added a few die cut hearts for embellishment.

I colored the stamp with Copics and went ahead and popped up the wings and snout, adding a bit of glitter which seemed appropriate for a Valentine's day card.

DRS Designs has many stamps for all your Valentine's day projects, so be sure to stop by the store and check them out!

Time to Relax

Good Morning Everyone,

I don't know about you, but with all the dark, dreary days we have had here in Ohio, I sure could use something colorful and cheerful.  That's where the inspiration for my card came from today.  It looks like my little Sun Bathing Bee from I Brake For Digis is on vacation.  Exactly where I wish I was, this very minute :)

The image is colored with Copics and the background and sentiment were created with traditional stamps to echo the flowers on the bee's beach towel.

Here is a close up of the Stickles I added to the wings and the Glossy Effects on the sunglasses for some shine.

Remember to use the code SAVE10KARIN at the I Brake For Digis Store and you will save 10% off your purchase!

Have a great day!

Popping By to say "Hi"!

Hi Everyone!

I'm so glad it's Friday today...I love the weekend, but it's going to be super cold in Cleveland. For once however, I don't care. Tomorrow night I have friends coming over for dinner and old movies, and I couldn't be happier about not going outside :)  Should we watch, "It Happened One Night, or The Philadelphia Story"?  Either way it's a win win;)

Well, a couple more cards before this week comes to an end.  I made another card using the new Mod Kitch Kitch set from Amber Ink.  I went plain and graphic with this card and I love the black and Turquoise color combo for this too.
The sentiment is from the companion set "Say it Like it's 1959"

This next card is in honor of Amber's Birthday...It's a big one, and they are celebrating at the Amber Ink Blog today... Woo-Hoo :)

I used the image of the group of presents from the Tis the Season set and made a Flip Flop card.

Here you can kind of see the the way it folds.  For instructions, just click here.

And a shot of the little cake I added to the inside.  It's from the Hostess with the Mostess set.

Once again, hope your birthday is the happiest of happys Amber.  And to all of you, my fab blog friends,  "Thanks for popping by to say hi"!

One more post today...

*This is my THIRD, yes THIRD post today...Scroll down to see the other loveliness from InStyle Stamps and Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.*

Hi Everyone,

Because I had so many other post commitments today, I really wanted to wait until tomorrow to post my AMBER INK project, but the excitement would not be contained!

Why? Well, today marks the release of the Mod Kitchen set of stamps that Amber so generously designed using my baby speck of an idea after I won the challenge at AmberINK's INKcredible 21 Day Challenge.  Seriously, she took what was a mere amoeba, germ, teeny tiny microbe of a million blatherings on my part,  and made made them into FANTASTIC sets of stamps! Yes, that is plural.  There is a set of great kitchy, kitchen items that match my favorite Hostess with the Mostess set, AND an awesome set of retro greetings, named Say it like it's 1959,  that pair up with these cutie appliances.  Do you like digi? Yes, they come in digi.  Do you like clear stamps? Yes, they come in clear too!   You MUST look now! Go ahead, I'll wait.

See why I'm excited? Ok, on to my first card.  I knew I wanted to make this the moment I saw the image of the cute little fan.  When I mentioned to Amber how much I loved it,  and wanted to pair it with the image of the mailbox from the set  Hope, Popcorn and Wine, she even included the the Fan Mail sentiment in the new Say it Like It's 1959!

TA-DA!

Here is a close up of the sentiment and the little envelopes that I made as embellishments.  They are just tiny rectangles topped with a tiny triangle and a bit of highlighting from a gray Copic marker.

So, I think this will be a swell Valentine for someone that I think highly of...Right now Amber and Pam (Yes, there is a team at Amber Ink) are pretty much at the top of my list; For many, many reasons too numerous to mention and way beyond these fabulous stamps.

Stop by the Amber Ink blog to read more, and get the list of the fantastic design team (aka Torch Bearers) who have also made grand creations with the new releases this month...

Aloha Everyone ;)

Hi Everyone!

I'm posting my project for the current Inspiration Challenge that is going on at the InStyle Stamps blog this week.  I showed you the photo below yesterday...

Here is my project made using the new Tia and Cuddles stamp set.  I chose to make a bookmark, and I was able to use many of the images in the set for this one project.  Taking inspiration from the little circles in the photo, I used the kitty treat stamps on the tassel of my bookmark.
I used a 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punch and attached them with some Martha Stewart bakers twine.

The image was colored using the following Copic markers-R81, R85, RV23, RV29, E00, E31, E33, C1, BG10, and one Gelly Roll pen in Metallic Pink.

Link up your project at the InStyle Stamps Blog by February 15th 11:59pm (PST) and you could win an image from InStyle Stamps.  Remember to use code ISSIC01 when uploading to any online galleries.  For all this info and more details, visit the InStyle Stamps blog today!

You're How Old?

Hi Everyone,

The minute I laid my eyes on this Laughing Hyena digi, from I Brake for Digis, this sentiment popped into my mind. I knew it would make a funny age related card for the right person...aka, someone with a sense of humor :)  I didn't have this sentiment in my stash, so I just made it myself in Word on my computer and printed it out right along with the image.

I decided this would be a guy card, so I roughed up the edges of the patterned card stock and added a felt border behind the image, which was cut out using my Nesties. The Laughing Hyena was colored with my Copics.

Thanks so much for visiting me here at the blog, and to see this image and so many more, stop by the store today.  If you choose to purchase something, use code SAVE10KARIN and you will save 10% off your purchase price :)

Music Saves My Soul

Happy Saturday!

I'm playing along with Music Saves My Soul Saturday and one of my guilty pleasures in life is a good angry chick song.  For me, this is one of the best :) While looking for a video to go with it, I found out there was an updated one.  I guess  the song was used in a movie.  I like the grainy original :)  Here is Liz Phair singing Extraordinary.

Here is a photo of all colors used on my card and the complete list of details is at the end.

Chickadee

Hi Everyone!

My card today uses one of the single stamps that are available at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  After writing my thank you notes for my Christmas gifts, I'm pretty low on plain note cards, so that's what inspired my post today.

This stamp is called Chickadee and I colored it with my Copic markers. I then layered it on a sheet of patterned paper that I thought sort of matched the flowers around the birdie.
The pattern was only black and white, so my Copics were used to color in those flowers to match the image.  Pretty simple, but I can add any sentiment inside or out and it will be custom to my occasion ;)

Well, I wrote this post awhile ago, so I'm already popping in with an updated photo of my card.  I realized I needed a birthday card, so here is the final version, with a sentiment and a few pearl embellishments.

Lots of Penguins

Hi Everyone!

My cards today showcase the new releases from DRS Designs.  These super cute stamps I'm using, all highlight the season that we are currently in...Winter.

I paired this new stamp Let it Snow Penguins with one of my go to favorites, 4 in 1 Snowflakes.  The image and sentiment are all in one, so all I did was create a band in the background using the snowflake stamp.

The image was colored with Copics and cut out using my Nesties.  The Snowflake punch was a gift this past Christmas...Yay!

Since it's Tuesday today, I'm also posting at the DRS Designs blog today.  So here is only a small peek of the second card.  You will want to head on over there to see it...It was made with the very cool Woven Plaid Stamp...LOVE it SO much! (It also features another Penguin ;))

Thanks for stopping by here, and I will see you over at the DRS Designs blog.

Chill Out

Second post for today....Please scroll down :)

Hi Everyone,

With things being so crazy around here all week, I'm finally getting the chance to post this card I made for my sister-in-law.  She has a milestone birthday this weekend, and I thought this would be an awesome card, without having to reference the actual number of her new decade ;)  What woman wants her number plastered on the front of a card, right?

Just click here if you want to know more about what is going on with the image of this darling little fridge...There are many things in the works behind the scenes, so be sure to check it out ;)  This lovely gal is from the set Hope, Popcorn and Wine by Amber Ink and the card came into being when I was cleaning my little stamping area.  That's when I came across some epoxy stickers from who knows where and the idea was born.  Happy accident? Divine intervention?  I will let you decide.  I love it when stuff works out just so...

Here is a close up...Perfect for that little fridge and the partying gal!

And the inside to mark her special day :)

Have you seen the new AmberINK's INKcredible 21 Day Challenge

What are you waiting for??

Have a good weekend!!

Music Saves My Soul Saturday

Hi Everyone,

I'm playing along with Music Saves My Soul Saturday this week.  I'm having problems uploading the little icon picture for this linky party, but Marcea hosts this on her blog.  However, not every week.  I'm not sure if it is happening today, but I really wanted to share this.

I had a trying few days this week, so this goes out to all of you.  I have had loads of you send me well wishes, prayers and good thoughts, and all are appreciated.  I want to also thank everyone that left comments this past week about my little projects or became a follower.  I'm humbled and grateful :)

So, I have chosen and oldie but goodie, (in my opinion)...Kind and Generous by Natalie Merchant...because you all are so...

Thank you...
