Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Hogs & Kisses

Hi Everyone,

I really have a hard time complaining about the Cleveland weather this year.  Yes, it has been cold.  Yes, it has snowed.  And boy is it grey and gloomy.  However, I'm not buried and it isn't below zero, so I will take it :).  I've got my eye on the prize...Only 52 days until spring!!  Until then, I'll keep my self warm and cheerful with stamping Valentines.

I chose Leonard Pig Rose Offering stamp because he's so dang cute, and I stamped, and die cut him, layering him behind some heart shaped frames.  It was only when I went to color the image did I realize, I used the wrong ink.  Versamark tends to bleed into alcohol markers, so I tried to heat set it, and carefully color between the lines on the roses.  I was too unsure about going further and totally messing it up, so I decided this is what it would be, and design around it.

I created the background using the Splatter Background stamp and red and pink ink. I had my "hog", I just needed my kisses.  Using my lips embossing folder (Darice) that I embellished with pink ink, I added a black lace border to match up with the image.

To finish the card, I attached the Hogs & Kisses Greeting and the main image using some dimensional foam tape.

Valentine Cards

Hi Everyone,

I have a ladybug embossing folder (Darice) in my stash that I've never used.  Until today! I was really happy that it made such a great background for this darling little Love Bug stamp.  Her adorable little face just makes me smile :)

For the strip of patterned paper along the side, I made it using the following stamps:

Easy Dot Background (black ink)

And I added the Love Bug Hug Greeting to complete my valentine.

Since that card went so quick, I decided to make one more.  This time I utilized my candy hearts embossing folder (Darice) and made a strip of paper using the Silhouette Love Heart, to mimic the look of the conversation heart background.

I used the same border punch as on the first card and completed it using the My Heart To Yours
stamp and adding a tiny die cut heart to the greeting.

Wishing you a day of love and STAMPING!

Thanks for visiting!

Love You More

Hi Everyone,

I hope the new year is treating you well and that you're back into a daily routine.  For me, it was great to get back into my stamping corner and make my first Valentine of the year.

I was trying to think outside of the box, and decided to make Valentine's day tic tac toe.  I'll let you decide how successful I was, because to me, the concept seemed cuter in my head :)

Anyway, I dry embossed the background with hearts and used some black gems to make the tic tac toe.  I then stamped the Hugs and Kisses Valentine Wishes a few times and fussy only the words, attaching them in place of the X's and O's.

I chose the Love You More Greeting and attached the Small Silhouette Heart with some dimensional foam tape for embellishment.

I hope you find some time to relax and stamp this January!

Thanks for stopping by,
Karin
