Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Many Awards and A Card

Hi Everyone,

Hope your day is off to a great start!

Well, I have been a crummy blogging friend lately. Over the past month or so, I have recieved many fun blogging and friendship awards, but I have been lagging in posting them and saying thank you to these wonderful ladies.  They are all so sweet and special in so many ways.  Some are team mates, some are blogging friends who lift me up with their kind words, (some are both!)  but all are creative and inspire me each and every day with their generous spirit and talent.  So, today I'm posting a collective thank you...You mean so much to me and you all rock!

(Definately see Cheryl...She has Stampin' Up blog candy and it ends today!)

Some have specific rules for accepting them, but I cannot possibly do them all or think of that many folks to pass them on to, so will just ask you to visit these fab folks and leave them some love on their blogs!

Please, if you would like one of these awards for yourself or to pass on to someone who needs their day brightened...Take it and spread the love my blogging friends!

Finally, my card.  I saw this idea on a blog here, and just loved it.  Simple perfection.  When I recieved this stamp (Spirit and Hand) from Scrolls Work,  I knew I could finally use this idea for inspiration and create my own card.

Lovely quote, genius idea. Thank you to where ever it was originally from since this blogger who posted it saved the idea for a while herself.

Have a fabulous day!

Oui!

Hi Everyone,

I have been itching to get these stamps from Scrolls Work inked up, but with all the Easter clean up and yard work, they have been sitting in my crafting area calling my name.

My niece is a huge fan of anything French. When she was just a child, she went as a little french girl for Halloween. She had a beret and a scarf and really looked, Oh so French! She is now in high school, taking French and has visited France with her family and been on the Eiffel Tower. So, this card is inspired by her!

I decided on white and black color combo, with pink as an accent color. This I felt would keep the card nice and girlie. The Eiffel Tower stamp #2001 is the main image. After stamping it, I sprayed the entire main image piece with adhesive and sprinkled it with stamping glitter. I then chose the Sheet Music stamp #7104 for the background of this card.

Here is a close up...but the sparkle was hard to capture in a photo. A ribbon and three half pearls completed the project.

Scrolls Work has a huge catalog of stamps beyond these, and I invite you to check them out. There are cards featured by the design team members on the Scrolls Work Blog as well...Get inspired!

I now want to take a moment to thank sweet Leanne for passing on this Award to me. So thoughtful of her to think of me and I really appreciate her kindness:)

So, to accept this award, I must name 10 things that make me happy and list 5 pieces of trivia about myself. Here goes....

10 Things that make me happy

1. Coffee

2. Chocolate

3. Sunny days

4. Being on vacation

5. A good book

6. Stamps

7. A great romantic comedy

8. My Hubby

9. A great nights sleep

10. Listening to the Cleveland Orchestra play at Blossom Music Center on a warm summer night! How I wish I was there right now :)

5 Pieces of Trivia

Frankly, my whole life is pretty trivial, so I will just refer you to an older post with 7 pieces of trivia, since nothing much has changed since then :) Click Here.

As far as passing this on, I would like to give this to all the members of the Design Teams I am on. They are all much more creative than I, and I'm inspired by their work and blogs on a daily basis. So, please grab this award ladies and gents and pass it on!

Thanks for the visit and have a great rest of the day!

You're Dandy

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for visiting me today...I have been so busy, I feel like I haven't been able to gather my thoughts and share anything lately! Sheesh!

First off, I want to thank Nancy, my My Grafico design teammate for thinking of me and passing on this sweet award. She is so kind, and lives all the way in Norway! It still amazes me how small the world has become due to the Internet. The closest I've ever been to Norway is Epcot at Disney World...LOL!

As far as passing this along, I want to give it to everyone! In the past I have selected some folks who have been especially kind to me, and of course they can have it again. But maybe you know of someone who is deserving, so my invitation this time is for you...take it and pass it on! Spread the love my friends! Isn't it cute?
Now, on to my random cards that I made just for fun. I originally purchased this stamp set from Practicing Creativity for someone else. She has been looking for dandelion stamps for a long time. Well, this set sat on my table for 3 days and I just couldn't take it...I HAD to stamp with it! Look at those cute dandelions with the seeds blowing off...How could I resist?
It also came with a kite that I paper pieced. Instead of the bow that came with the set, I chose to add real ribbons to the tail.

This card has some rainbow embossing powder.

And the stamp I used to make the rays of sunshine on one the previous cards? I used it to make the background on both of these...How's that for versatility?

I guess my generous spirit wasn't quite so generous. I will, however, send her one of these cards and tell her she can borrow the stamps whenever she wants :)
Hope your day is just dandy!

Part two of my post... The Moxie Fab World Blog has an Anne Taintor inspired card challenge at the moment. You can go here if you want to know everything there is to know about her, but basically the cards, and other bits of kitsch have these vintage images and witty phrases on them.

I love these items and think some are so funny and inspired, but I didn't even think of participating until I saw this card, by my Lindsay's Stamp Stuff team mate Kristen. Isn't it cute??? So, if she could make one, so could I.

Well, not only did I make this one... I made two more! You'll have to check back in the coming days to see those...All the images came from the public domain stuff on the Internet and I made up the funnies and printed them out. I think I'm addicted...Somebody stop me!

Hope you have day that contains some laughs!

My Card is Featured!

Hi Everyone...It's the weekend!

Yes, my wild plans last night consisted of eating soup and salad for dinner, (I must add that it was Homemade Split pea with Ham...So yummy on a cool fall day!) and going to bed at 9:30. Boy do I feel old.

I was texting (there is no real talking with teenagers) my niece yesterday, and she was on a Greyhound heading down to visit her sister for the weekend at OSU. I remember when it was ME on the Greyhound visiting my friend at Penn State! Boy do I feel old.

Well, to make me feel better, I found out my card was featured on the MG Inspiration Board. It's the one from my Monday post, bottom row third from the left! YAY!

So, what are you waiting for? Be inspired and go get you craft on!

Kreativ Blogger Award!

Many, many thanks to Mary G. for nominating me for the Kreativ Blogger Award! I am truly HONORED that you would have selected me for your list of people! To visit Mary, and see what creative things she is making just click HERE....

So, to accept this award, I must do the following things:

1. Thank the person who nominated me.

2. Include a link to her blog.

3. List 7 interesting things about myself.

4. Nominate 7 Kreative Bloggers

5. Post links to their blogs.

6. Leave comments on their blogs and let them know they have been nominated.

Well, here are my 7 Things... which are kinda quirky and random!

1. I have, on more than a few occasions, had strangers say to me, "Has anyone ever told you, you look like Leann Rimes?" Frankly, I don't see it...(Well, maybe her older sister! LOL!)

2. My dream is to own my own Bed & Breakfast.

3. I have shaken hands with Oscar Award winning actress Eva Marie Saint.

4. I secretly wish I could have the super powers of Sabrina from Bewitched.

5. My picture was in the local paper shaking hands with Democratic Presidential candidate Jerry Brown. (Yeah, it was awhile ago!)

6. I think rubber stamp images of snowmen without hats are weird.

7. Back in college, I acted opposite Tony award winner Rodger Robinson in Othello.

Now, the next thing I have to do is nominate seven of my own fellow bloggers. I must confess, I find this an impossible thing to do. I have been inspired by soooo many talented people, many of whom have already received this award and others like it...I just cannot narrow it down. So, if you don't have this award and wish to display it on your blog, just leave me a comment and it is yours to pass on. Or, if you would like me to visit your blog, just leave me a comment and I will drop in.

Thanks again for choosing me Mary! And thank you to all the bloggers out there for sharing and continuing to inspire others with your creativity...I am thrilled to be part of this fabulous community!

Happy Sunday everyone!
