Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Santa

Hi Everyone!

I had such a fun time coloring up the new Santa with Puppy Christmas Scene stamp that was recently released here at DRS Designs.  It's a darling scene...I adore the Santa trying to shush the dog who's looking to play ball...lol!  After coloring and matting the stamp, I added some glitter to the garland and to the fur on Santa's suit.  I set it aside to dry and stamped my background papers using the Interlocking Snow Background in red and green ink.

I attached the papers to the card base, adding a strip of yellow paper and a piece of ribbon to cover up where the two papers met. For perfect placement of the From My House at Christmas Greeting,  I used my
Stamp-a ma-jig, and then attached the image.

Be sure to stop by the DRS Designs store to check out all of the holiday stamps!

Thanks for looking!

Happy Holly Days

Hi Everyone,

After a very mild fall in my part of the country, winter really came roaring in this weekend.  I definitely feel in the mood to show off some of the Christmas themed cards I've been working on.

I colored up the Holly Jingle Bells stamp from DRS Designs, die cut it and matted it using my oval dies.  I added a dab of glitter glue to the berries and set it aside to dry while I began on stamping my background papers.  I always find it so satisfying to make custom, perfectly matched papers for a special project.

For the base background I used Easy Dot Background, stamping in dark red and green ink and then stamping on top of that using the Splatter Background in a yellow.  I then took those same ink colors and made a piece of plaid using the Woven Plaid Background stamp and added a punched border to it.

I wrapped my background paper with a piece of matching ribbon, adding a button from my neglected button stash.  I then topped it with the plaid piece and adhered the image with dimensional tape.

I chose the new Holly Days Christmas Greeting and added that at an angle to finish off the card.

Thanks so much for looking!

Thanksgiving

Hi Everyone,

I can hardly believe that in the USA Thanksgiving is next Thursday!  I'm always happy when it rolls around, because it's one of my favorite holidays.  It's about nothing except being thankful and
eating :)

So in celebration of the season of gratitude, I chose some fall colored paper and made this card featuring the Psalm 100 Thanksgiving Greeting by DRS Designs, I die cut it and added some sponging to match.

The background papers were made by stamping in matching colors, using the Silhouette Branch Background and the Fall Leaf with Acorn.  I added a strip that was embossed with a Darice Leaf embossing folder, and I embellished it with a couple of large brads.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Peaceful Pine Cone

Hi Everyone,

DRS Designs recently released this beautiful open lined Pine Cone with Bow stamp and my teammates colored up this stamp to total perfection.  You can click here here and here to be totally blown away and inspired by coloring supremacy :)

My card today shows that this image can be just as lovely by simply heat embossing it.  It also works well this way for mass producing your Christmas cards.  Have you started on that project yet?  I can hardly believe it's that time of year again!

Since I kept the design simple, after stamping and die cutting the Peace Heart and Home Christmas Greeting I layered it onto a mat, which was made by diecutting a piece of sticker paper and coating it in glitter.

I finished it off by adding a line of half pearls to add embellishment.

Thanksgiving Blessings

Hi Everyone,

Now that Halloween is officially behind us, it only seems fitting to showcase a Thanksgiving card on November 1st.  I just adore all of the colors associated with this time of year, so I colored up the new Cornucopia stamp from DRS Designs using my Copic markers.  I fussy cut it and then layered it onto a piece of brown card stock and fussy cut it once more, giving it a small dark mat.

I took inspiration from the colors of the stamped image and made my own background.  Taking a piece of acetate I added some inks, spritzed them with water and then smooshed my paper onto it, giving it a watercolor effect.

While the background was drying. I stamped the Thanksgiving Blessings in brown ink, adding a punched border to the strip.  When all seemed dry, and before assembling, I rounded the corners on all my card stock and created an embellishment of die cut leaves to finish it off.

Thank you so much for peeking in today!
