Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Celebrating Easter

Hi Everyone,
Now that St. Patrick's Day is behind us, I'm looking forward to Easter. I'm really happy the holiday falls late in the season this year, since as I type this, the snow is still falling here in Cleveland. I mean, it's has got to be done by April 20th, right?! Sheesh!
For today's card I used the Three Wooden Crosses to highlight the true meaning of the holiday. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE bunnies, flowers and all things spring, but for wishing someone a happy Easter, nothing beats the joyful phrase He Has Risen!

I layered my colored image onto an embossed cloud background that I sponged with white ink and added a layer on the bottom that I stamped with Vicki's Versatile Background.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hoppy Birthday

Hi Everyone,

I'm showcasing another birthday card this week, however, unlike last week, this one is sweet, spring like and girlie. It's flat and easy to mail and shows off the adorable Friendly Flower Frog that was recently released here at DRS Designs. I love how chubby and happy she looks! After stamping "her," I colored her with Copics and die cut her using my Spellbinders dies.

I layered the image on an embossed background of dogwood flowers and added some glitter glue to the center of the image flowers for a bit of bling.

The punny Hoppy Birthday greeting finished it off. I stamped, colored and cut it apart to fit on my finished card.

Thanks for hopping by!

Nontraditional Birthday Cards

Hi Everyone,

I have quite a few birthdays coming up, so I spent some time stamping in anticipation of what I will need to send out. Since my list was lengthy, I decided to keep all my cards fairly simple, so here are a couple for my share today on the blog using stamps from DRS Designs.

This first one is for my father, obviously. I used the negative part from a heart die cut, and sponged with some ink to create the heart that matched the card base. I then used my stamp positioner and inked up just a portion of the Father's Day Greeting and stamped that right on top. I added the dad using some die cut letters and will simply stamp a happy birthday on the inside. It's a good change from the golf themed ones I've made for him since I began stamping...lol!  And don't tell my husband, but I really like this sentiment, so may be using this card idea for his valentine next year ;)

This next one is for my cousin. Since he's a biker, I thought he might appreciate a card made using the Biker's Prayer. I used the same concept as on the card above, stamping the sentiment and layering the Motorcycle image on top of each other.

I know they're nontraditional birthday cards, but I think the fact that they're personalized makes them special :)

Thanks for looking in today!

Shamrocks Galore

Hi Everyone,

Well, while the calender says we are closer to the start of spring, the weather here in Ohio sure doesn't think so :) However, we are less than 2 weeks away from St. Patrick's Day, so I thought I would show off a card loaded with cheery shamrocks from DRS Designs!

I began with a bright orange base that I stamped using the Silhouette Clover, inked up with Versamark. The side panel was made with the Shamrock Swag colored using my Copics, and after stamping the Blessings Outnumber Irish Greeting, I cut it out using my oval Spellbinders die.

Before layering up the festive sentiment, I inked up the Shamrock Background stamp in pale green ink, and stamped right on top of the greeting.

Don't forget to join us for our "button" challenge! You can link up your card right here :)

Good Luck!
