Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

January Birthday

Hi Everyone,

My brother-in-law has a January birthday, and while he's a huge bird fan, I think I used up all of my bird stamps on his cards in years gone by. Not that he would really remember, at least I don't think he's one of those, "I save all the cards you make me" people :) Needless to say, I was thrilled to stamp his card this year with the Medium Snowman head that will be released very soon in the DRS Designs store. It was a perfect companion to the January Birthday Greeting. Don't know anyone with a January birthday? Well, guess what? There's a greeting for every month :) Pop on over to the store and check them out!

The background was simply made with the Interlocking Snow Background stamp and an embossed snowflake folder, along with a few gem embellished snowflakes!
My card also serves as a reminder that there's still time to join our weekly challenge. The theme is Winter Wonderland!
Good Luck!

Merry & Bright

Hi Everyone,

The Christmas holiday is almost upon us, so today's post contains my last Christmas card. This time leading up has gone by so quickly, I'm hoping to really savor the holiday itself :)

I chose to keep my focus on the adorable little Christmas Village Slope Roof Cottage for this card. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo black ink, colored it with Copic markers and fussy cut it out. I stamped a line of trees (from Christmas Village 4 in 1 Accessories 2) and added the tiny snowmen(from Christmas Village 4 in 1 Accessories), only coloring the hats and scarves to match the card base and front door of the cottage. Then I glued down the house in the space I left blank.

The Merry and Bright Stars Greeting was also stamped in red, and I attached a red & white ribbon using my stapler. I added it to my card with some dimensional tape, added a few mini snowflakes as embellishments and a bit of glitter glue to the cottage roof.

While my post is short and sweet, my wishes to you for bright and merry days are heartfelt! I'm grateful for you, dear stampers :)

Snow Fun!

Hi Everyone,

I'm here today to share my card that I made in support of a challenge that DRS Designs is the sponsor of this week. Are you still scrambling to get your last minute cards made? Well, why not consider playing along...Who knows, you might come out a winner of a $10.00 voucher to use in the DRS Designs store. The challenge is being held at Creative Colors Challenge Blog, and if you can't guess from my card what the specifics are, you can check them out right here.

Here are the stamps I used to make my card:
Heart Swag Snowman -It's an all time favorite of mine!
No Snow Fun Greeting-only the last two words of it ;)

We also have a challenge at the DRS Designs blog, each and every Thursday. This week the it's "Sing it to Me", and the theme is sheet music. If you put on your thinking cap, I bet you could combine these two challenges and you'd be in the running for two prizes!
Good luck playing along and getting all you holiday cards done too!

Greetings of the Season

Hi Everyone,

The closer I get to the holiday and the deadline for sending out my holiday cards, the simpler they become. What can I say, I'm real. There are only 24 hrs in the day, and well, you get the idea...

Thank goodness this beautiful Nature's Christmas Greeting stamp from DRS Designs is a breeze to color with my Copics, and does double duty including both the sentiment and image. After die cutting and matting it, I attached it to a green card base. To keep it from being too plain, I added a die cut border to the bottom and a strip of red glitter to highlight those sweet holly berries. A few drops of glitter glue on the berries and that was all she wrote :)

I doesn't get much easier than that.
Thanks for taking a moment out of your day to visit the blog and be sure to check out our

From Our House....

Hi Everyone,

So I'm famous (in my own mind!) for saving things that didn't work out the first time I tried them. This card is the result of one of those tries. The scene was meant to be a Christmas ornament. If only you could have seen the finished product in my minds eye...It was amazing...lol! Anyway, when that ended up being a total flop, I put the scene aside and ended up die cutting it now, and putting it on today's card share:)

The snowman, trees and subtle snowflakes were from the Christmas Village 4 on 1 Accessories., and I added the Christmas Village House 1 as well.

The background was made using the Interlocking Snow stamp in green ink and the Snow Background in red. I added an additional panel with gems and a black border for a bit to interest . Simple, sweet and easy to mail at this time of year. So remember to save your goofs, it makes for quick cards at a later date...lol!

Have a great Tuesday!
Karin
