Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Get Well Wishes

Hi Everyone,

I'm here today with a card that I made for my uncle.  I knew this Bed from I Brake For Digis would make the perfect image for a get well card.  I used some K & Company papers that looked like fabric and paper pieced the bed linens.  I added a stamped sentiment, a bit of Tim Holtz paper tape and pierced the paper along the bottom. I know it's not fussy, but I don't think men like fussy cards :)

Short and sweet today... Be sure to use the code SAVE10KARIN when shopping at I Brake For Digis and save 10% on your order!

Details not listed above- Paper: Georgia Pacific White, Chalk & Ink: Stampin Up, Nesties and Copic markers

You're So Fresh

*Second post of the day...Please scroll down*

Hi Everyone!

I'm here today to show off a fun Valentine's Day card that I made with the set I won at the AmberINK's Inkredible 21 Day Challenge.  I'm using the refrigerator image from the Mod Kitch Kitsch set I got to design along with Amber as my prize!  I know, right?  Fantastic prize!  I don't know of any other challenge where you can win something this unique and special.  The sentiment is from a companion set called Say it Like it's 1959, and because the saying is retro, I went shabby and vintage with my papers.  Adding a bit of lace and buttons to tie the theme together.

The speech bubble is from another award winning set named Let's Communicate which was designed by Amber and  Lynne.

Have you played along in this month's birthday challenge?  What are you waiting for?  Emily won last month and the details on her creative idea can be found here.  Go. See the all the fabulousness. Yes, that is a word.  Enter and maybe your stamping dreams will come true :)

Stay cool!

Superbowl Sale at Hambo Stamps

Hi Everyone,

Ready for some exciting news from Hambo Stamps?  Here are the details straight from the powers that be!

Because Hambo Stamps has a special fondness for PIGskin, we're celebrating Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 6) by offering 30% off ALL in-stock regular-priced stamps (rubber & digital), ribbon and cling cushion! (The discount will not apply to stamps on our "Retiring" or "Seconds" pages which are already discounted a minimum of 50%) Because of the limited quantities of some designs, all orders will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

PLUS - We're offering a chance to win your entire order FREE (up to $100)! When you place your order, give us your best guess as to the FINAL point total of the game -- that is, the total of points that both teams have scored, added together. If more than one person correctly guesses the exact final point total, a random draw will determine the winner of those with the correct guess. If no one correctly guesses the final point total, it will go to the CLOSEST guess -- again with a random drawing if there's more than one. Please note that while the 30% off sale runs for three entire days, only orders received prior to kick-off will be in the running for the free stamps.

Other very important details to be aware of:

The sale will run from 12:01 AM Friday (2/4) to midnight Sunday (2/6). Though we are closed on Saturdays, orders will still be received, and will be responded to on Sunday.

Only in-stock stamps, ribbon & cling cushion are eligible for the discount -- no back-orders available.

Digital stamps are also eligible for the discount, though please note: if purchasing digital stamps, please DO NOT use the Paypal checkout, as it will NOT apply the discount. Instead, email us your list of digital stamps and we'll issue a discounted Paypal invoice.

Free shipping does NOT apply during this sale, but all orders will be figured at actual postage rates.

To be eligible for the free stamps, your guess as to final point total MUST be received prior to the kick-off of the game (which will be approximately 6:30 pm on the East Coast; 5:30 pm Central; 4:30 pm Mountain; and 3:30 pm Pacific.)

Please be sure to include your name & mailing address with your order (even if you've ordered from us before), and specify whether you want mounted (M) or unmounted (UM) stamps. If stamps are available on cling cushion (UMC) or bare (B), it will be noted in the item details beneath each design.

Payments for orders not received within 10 days will negate the discount.

The winner of the free stamps will be notified on Monday, Feb. 7. If the winner has already paid, the payment will be promptly refunded.

So cool, right?  If you want more details, everything you need to know can be found on the sale page at Hambo Stamps...

Go Team and kick off your shopping spree right here!

Bowling Birthday

*This is my second post for the day...Please scroll down *

Hi Everyone,

It's a great day today, because Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is having a sale!

My card today for my Lindsay's Stamp Stuff post showcases some more of her clip art.  I knew I wanted to use this image of the bowling shirt, because it's a great image for a guy.  I printed out a matching sentiment that I created in Word, and since I will be sending this off to Operation Write Home, I kept it flat and free of embellishments.  So simple!

Here is a peek at the set Bowling Fun which is currently 30% off.

Please visit Lindsay and the rest of the design team for all kinds of great crafty ideas!

The Hambo Hoedown has begun!

Hi Everyone! (and Happy Groundhog's Day too ;) )

Today marks the day of the first challenge at Hambo Stamps.  The challenge blog is named Hambo Hoedown and we would love if you played along with us in this, our first challenge.  Ready for the theme?  In honor of one of the biggest American holidays, it's FOOTBALL!  Here is my card for some inspiration and to get you going, errr...I mean "Hoedowning". The cute Football Girl digi is from Hambo Stamps and  I chose to use Green Bay Packers inspired colors, since I'm from Cleveland, it's impossible for me to root for the Steelers...I distressed the edges for a rough and tumble appearance, but since she is a cutie pie girl, I used flower papers and embellishments. The sentiment was cut from a piece of patterned paper.

Here are the challenge details:

The way the challenge will work is this: Starting this first week, we're going to give EVERYONE a free digi image. The theme is Football, and you can either use the free digi image we give you, or any other Hambo stamps to make a card that fits the challenge theme. The challenge will run for one week. At the end of the week, one winner will be chosen from a random drawing of all the participants, and that person will win his/her pick of a free digi image from our digital store.

But wait - there's more! EVERY person who plays in the challenge will be emailed another new digi image, which can be used for the week 2 challenge. The image will be offered free to all who participated the previous week, and then put on the website for sale once the free ones are distributed. Again, you'll be able to use that new image for the week 2 challenge, OR you can use any other Hambo stamp (rubber or digital).

This cycle will continue each week, so as long as you continue to participate in the challenges, the more free digis you'll rack up. If you miss a week, you can either purchase that week's digi image to get back into the loop, or you can work with another Hambo stamp, as long as you are loyal to that week's theme.

The challenges will change weekly, so one week might be a "theme" (i.e. "wildlife), one week might be a color combination, or a sketch, or have an embellishment requirement, etc. so there should be something to interest everyone at some point.

AND, there will also be extra prizes and incentives thrown in from time to time. For example, one week we might offer a sales code that will ONLY be publicized on the challenge blog, so if you don't drop by the challenge that week, you'll miss it.

Sound cool? What are you waiting for? Put on your dancing shoes and get over to the Hambo Hoedown and join the fun!

Good Luck :)

Green Beer

Hi Everyone,

Today DRS Designs is rolling out their newest stamps...Are you ready for the next holiday after Valentine's Day?

Yes, it's St. Patrick's Day!   Or in my house, March Madness...Yes, the big college basketball tournament begins the same day.  All the bars with the big screen TVs will be packed around here.  So, in honor of both these events, I thought I would show off the fun Drink Green Beer greeting for my first card on the blog.  I stamped it in green and embossed it with rainbow embossing powder for some shine.  I used the new Celtic Knot for a border along the bottom and added the Beer Mug as an embellishment.

Here is a close up of the Celtic Knot, which is a great design element.  After coloring my Beer Mug, I cut it out and embellished it with Glossy Accents and Stickles on the foam.

There are so many more St. Patty's Day stamps, as well as some Easter stamps being released today, so stop by the DRS Designs store to see what's new.   Want some more St. Patrick's Day inspiration?  Today is my day over at the DRS Designs blog, so pop on my and check out my other card there!

 Here's a tiny peek ;)

Have a great day!

Ducks in a Row

Hi Everyone!

Today I'm sharing a baby card I made for my stash of cards.  I used the cute Ducks in a Row image from I Brake for Digis and colored it with my Copics.  The music notes are a piece of Tim Holtz paper tape and the image is a stamp from my supplies.

Digi stamps work so well with that supplies I have on hand, if you've never tried them I encourage you to check out the images at I Brake for Digis.  Remember to use the code SAVE10KARIN and you will save 10% off your purchase.

Thanks for visiting today :)

Hi Everyone,

I'm so happy to announce that I am a Bacon Bit!  I can hear you asking, "What on earth is that?"  Well, it's none other than the very cleverly named Design Team for Hambo Stamps.

Are you familiar with their adorable stamps?  I'm working with their super cute rubber stamps, but did you know they offer a line of digis too? I've been lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the some of the samples you will be seeing from the design team, and I'm BLOWN AWAY by their creativity!  (How was I able to sneak into this group...lol!)

When I applied, they sent me a couple of digis to make cards with, so here is a sample to peak your interest. This is the Wee Henry Hockey digi.  So perfect for those boy birthdays!

Music Saves My Soul Saturday

Hi Everyone,

I missed not playing along with Music Saves My Soul last Saturday over on Marcea's blog.  I'm back this week with an old song that I have been humming non stop.
My hubby got us a puzzle for Christmas this year, something different to keep us from watching too much stupid TV.  We did one a number of years back one winter, and we really enjoyed talking and laughing while putting it together.  However, it was not THIS BIG!  Sheesh, 2000 pieces of Van Gogh's Starry, Starry Night painting.  It will take me longer to piece this together than it took him to paint the original...lol.

Yep, only 1,950 to go!  Did I mention it needs to be done before Easter?  I host dinner here, and I need the dining room table :)

So, for this reason, here is Starry, Starry Night by Don McLean.

Chocolate...

Hi Everyone,

I have a little something different today, a card made with some clip art from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  I don't usually use clip art for my cards, but when you have something as cute as these ice cream cones, why not?  If you need a fast project, clip art is great for that because there is no coloring involved. I know some stampy folks don't feel comfortable with having a lot to color, so this is perfect for you as well ;)

I copied the image from the set A Little Lovin' three times and cut that out with my Nestie.  I added some chalk to the image and stamped sentiment, and then layered it on some cute Valentine paper.  I bought that paper over a year ago on sale, so I couldn't wait to finally get a chance to use it.

Of course I had to add my stickles and gems for bling.

Here is a look at the entire set:

Check out what the rest of the design team has for their blog post today and Lindsay will have her usual freebie too!
