Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Happy Harvest

Hi Everyone!

My card today was inspired by this fantastic photo I snapped a couple of weeks ago.  I was at a red light, and I quickly grabbed my phone and shoved it out the window and was able to capture this...

Isn't this gorgeous??? I'm awestruck everytime I look at it.  As much as I wish that winter around here was shorter, I wish fall in all its splendor was longer.  Sigh.  This is already just a memory because the trees are now almost bare.

Oh well, it served as great inspiration because here is my card.  I used the tree image from the set Funky Forest by Lindsay's Stamp Stuff
I used a combination of paper piecing and Copics to color it and one of my favorite embossing folders for the background that has a bunch of random autumnal words.  I hand stamped the sentiment and layered it up with some circle punches.  I thought that, and the round buttons coordinated well with that image.

Here is a look at the entire set:

Well, that's it for me today :) I hope you will take time to see what Lindsay and the rest of the team has made
this week.  Their blogs are always worth the visit...You can even snag a freebie or two along the way!

Hello Karin,
You made a fantastic card again. Yes, I also love those autumn colors of the trees. Today it is a realy stormy day here, so I will be crafting again and stay at home, warm and out of the wind. Exept for getting some tealight candles.. in a hurry.
Greetings from Belgium

Love all the texture and colour on your card Karin. Loving that photo too, just the exact colours we have at the minute over here in Ireland. Though the winds today will soon get rid of those gorgeous leaves:(

The trees are beautiful! We missed out on the gorgeous colors this year. (The wind blew them all down when the colors where coming in.)
