Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Heartfelt Condolances

Hi Everyone,

Well, it's been an emotional week here for me, so that's why posts have been few and far between. I received word that my grandma in Germany passed away.  My dad was gone on vacation, and between trying to get word to him, getting him home and making arrangements, well, you get the idea.  Also, today is the anniversary of my mom's passing, so my heart is definately heavy as I write my post for today. However,  I do know that God is good, and everything will be well again soon. If I haven't been to see you lately in blog land, know that I will be around eventually.

DRS Designs is sponsoring the sketch challenge over at the Card Patterns blog, so I thought I would show off my card I made in support of that.  I hope you can play along for your chance at a great prize :)

Here is the sketch:
And this is my card.  I flipped the sketch and used the following stamps:

Since these cards can be difficult to make, especially when your heart is hurting, I like having a few of these at the ready.

If you are feeling especially sketchy, the challenge at the DRS Designs blog this week is a sketch as well.

Here it is:

Gorgeous card, Karin. The shading in the lily is soft, yet provides plenty of color and dimension. The layers are impeccable - the black makes all the other colors come alive. TFS

Karin, just wanted you to know that I posted the previous comment. Blogger is being strange again for me. I just wanted you to know I was thinking of you during this time.

Karin, your card is perfect for the sentiment that it expresses. Thinking of you and know the upset that you are going through. We lost my FIL this time last year and now have my mum very ill in hosiptal. Sis and I have had to place Dad into a care home as Mum is his registered carer. Very worrying times. Such a lot of legal paper work to be gone through. You are in my prayers. Hugs Mrs A.
