Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Stars and Stripes

Hi Everyone,

Stars and Stripes is the new challenge over at the DRS Designs blog.  It's perfect if you live in the USA and are making patriotic themed creations right now.

Here's my card share using the Proud Pledge Boy and the Stars and Stripes Forever stamp for my background.

Sorry I have to be brief.  Bad news on my end over here, I recently re-injured my ankle running the other day.  I went to the emergency room because I thought it was broken, so I guess it's good news that it's just degenerative bone disease that's causing it!?.  I'm going to the orthopedic doc for a follow up, so until then I'm on crutches with my foot up. Pray that I won't need surgery :(  The hubby said I should just ask for a leg transplant :P

Well, for all my USA friends, have a safe and Happy 4th and hope to see you at the challenge!

Other challenges for this card:
Amusing Challenges-Red, white and blue
Gingerloft-Red, white and blue
Kenny K-Patriotic
Sentimental Sundays-Be Patriotic

My Sheri Crafts-I love America
Sweet Stampin-Scallops
Card Makin Mamas-Red white and blue

Love the card and how you did all the "stripes" with various mediums. The addition of the white dots on the scalloped border was a nice touch too!

Hi Karin. Well don't even get me started on names, my sunare is Llewelyn-Brinsley and I get the most ridiculous pronounciations I just have to say yes when someone asks "Is Mr Loulyn-Burndsle there"!!! As for the injusry, you have my sympathies as my back has degenerative discs and I am in constant pain - Thank God for crafting eh! Good luck at the doctors, my thoughts will be with you.
Now on to your lovely card. Thank you so much for joining us at the Kenny K 100th Challenge. It's a brand new team and a brand new site so it's great to have you joining us at this special time. Love your stamp, he is such a sweet little character isn't he.
Good luck and I hope we will see your talent again soon.
Take Care

Well that's no good, my friend! At least a break would heal & be done. Hopefully your ankle gets feeling better with some help :) This card is too sweet - love that background and the edges of blue! Perfectly cute pledge boy, too. Great card!

Oh no! Sorry to hear about your ankle. I know how hard it is to be laid up and on crutches.

I love your card! So cute and patriotic. I'm not sure why but this little guy reminds me of Schoolhouse Rock. Remember those?

Take care of yourself!

Oh my darling Karin with an i,
Why in the name of God would you have anything like this??? Sweet people such as yourself are protected - we gotta know that!!!!
Here is a prayer you could do with fiath - believe me it works.
Here goes the prayer:

Oh soul of my ankle,
I love you
You are capable of healing yourself
I know you can do a good job
Thank you'

Monica said...

The above prayer has to be done in sets of threes - it could be done any time convenient for you... Your friends could do it for you too... Supposing i say the prayer for you, this is how ir goea:
Oh soul of Karin's anke,
She loves you
You are capable of healing yourself
I know you will do a good job
Thank you!
Again sets of three... As many times as possible.
I am going to start now...
Happy 4 th of July... May great America rise and shine like never before.

Your card is awesome and am dying to create some stuff from the bounties you shared!

Going through a sour patch in life - hopefully the Universe will sort it out for me.

Hugs and blessings,
Monica
