Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Stenciled Background

Hi Everyone,

The challenge this week at the DRSH Designs blog is "Hot Trends-Stencils" and I had so much fun making the first card, (you can see it on the challenge post), that I wanted to try again. I had this Spellbinders Impressibilities metal stencil named Diamond & Stars, which I originally bought to use for embossing. However, I'm so used to embossing folders giving me a deep, crisp look that I didn't care much for this when I tried it. It's too subtle for my taste. So, when this challenge presented itself, I pulled the metal stencil out again.

I decided to try a gradient look, and started off sponging ink in a light pink, working my way up to red at the bottom. When I was done, I crossed my fingers as I pulled away the stencil, and what do you know? It worked :) I stamped the Ribbon Heart in black pigment ink and heat embossed it with rainbow embossing powder.

stamped and die cut the new Valentine's Full of Love Greeting and added to my card along with some gem flourishes and pearls.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you join us for our Stencil challenge right here!

Karin
