Hi Everyone,
I began wanting to make a sunrise card with lots of palm trees for a tropical beachy scene, but I ended up with two cards instead. One beach like and the other desert like.
I started by stamping The Floor upside down, as a stand in for the sunrise, and then stamped the Vicki's Versatile Background below using navy blue ink. I did some sponging to create the sky, water and sand. So far so good, until I stamped a couple of rows of the Silhouette Palm Tree Line. All of a sudden what was in my head, didn't translate to my paper, so I cut off the bottom row of trees only intending to use the sunrise portion.
I stamped the Vicki's Versatile Background all over the card base and added the Sending You Sunshine Greeting, along with the scene using some dimensional foam tape.
Then I looked at the piece that was left over, and thought what was the water on the above card, looked like sky and sand on this one. So, why not have a little desert oasis card too? It kind of reminded me of hiking in the Desert Oasis on one of my vacations in Palm Springs.
I stamped this background using the Splatter Background stamp and added a die cut
Let the Adventure Begin Greeting. In order to change it up a bit, I added a black strip and adhered everything directly on the card.
Be sure to keep coming by to visit the blog this week. The DRS Designs design team is getting ready to show off some new stamps....Yee-Haw!
Have a great day!
