Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Music Saves My Soul Saturday

Hi Everyone,
For my Music Saves My Soul pick this Saturday, I decided to choose a song by someone who is local.  I think she has moved to Nashville in the last few years, but I used to go see Anne E. DeChant all the time in the 90's when she was the lead singer for the group Odd Girl Out.  They could really harmonize and well, Anne herself has an amazing voice.

The funny thing is, I was wondering if anything was available on the web for me to link up for this on Saturdays.  Then out of the blue, my husband says, "Hey, want a blast from the past?" And he started playing the one CD we have from Odd Girl Out.  I swear it'd been years since we've discussed them...After that I had to find something.

Obviously there is no video, but you have to love supporting the little guy.  Or in this case, gal :) If you would like to play along, link up your music pick at Marcea's Blog.

Thanks for listening and have a great weekend.

It's a quiet Sunday morning so I thought I'd listen to some music. Anne E DeChant is so good! I saw the big names she has opened for and it makes me wonder again how difficult it is in the arts - some people get to the top w/such little effort and other great talents never do. Have I waxed philosophical enough for a Sunday morning? I hope she gets a big break soon. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Karin, I thought I left a comment on this over the week end but I don't see it so I'll leave another one.

Great pick! I didn't know she was from your neck of the woods. I have a couple of free downloads from her and play them quite often. TFS!
