Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Your Dreams Will Inspire Your Future

Hi Everyone,

DRS Designs has recently released a wonderful new graduation sentiment Dreams Inspire Future.  I feel like it's a lofty greeting, so I wanted to incorporate the concept of height on my card.

After stamping, heat embossing, die cutting and matting my greeting, I set it aside and worked on the backgournd.  I simply dry embossed the card stock with clouds and added a few die cut ones as well.

I picked the bottom corner for the placement of the sentiment, so I thought I would add a couple of dreamy Hot Air Balloons. I stamped, colored and fussy cut them, adding them with some dimensional foam tape to finish off the card.

I made a second card using the same Dreams Inspire Future Greeting along with the same layout.

I stamped the greeting right onto the cardstock and embellished it with markers in rainbow colors.

Then I simply stamped the Bee Trail and added rainbow colored butterflies that were embellished with matching gems.

Wishing you and inspired week full of craftiness!

Hats Off

Hi Everyone,

The hats are flying everywhere on my card today.  I thought I would keep the color choice a basic black and white, so that it could be gender neutral and not tied to any school colors. I think it's a must when considering building up a card stash for emergencies :)

I created the background using the new Grad Hat Hooray background, and I added an embossed strip down the side.  I stamped and die cut the new Hats off Graduation Greeting and attached it using dimensional foam tape.

I wanted to have some hats flying around, so I heat embossed two of the Brush Mortarboards and fussy cut them, before attaching them using the same dimensional tape.

Now that Easter is behind us, the graduation season is coming up fast.  Check out all of the  great graduation stamps available right here....Have a good one and happy stamping!

Rejoice

Hi Everyone,

New stamps have become available from DRS Designs and I was so excited to give the new
Wooden Frame collection an inking up.  It's one stamp, but you could easily use just one of the frames too. Also, depending upon the shape of your stamps, you can rotate it 180 degrees and see a whole new grouping. Exciting! I love stamps with multiple uses :)

I stamped and colored up the frames and chose to make a cheerful card using the following stamps inside the frames:

I die cut the bottom of my card base and layers, creating the background paper using these stamps:

I attached the matted image using dimensional foam tape and finished it by adding some glitter glue to the center of the puff.

You can find all of these stamps, newbies and oldie but goodies alike right here!

Have a Blessed Day!

Spring Cards

Hi Everyone,

Tulips are probably my favorite flower of spring, so I thought I would celebrate them on one of my cards today made using stamps from DRS Designs.

Choosing the Tulip Bunny image, I colored up the flowers and punched out only that portion.  Taking my base colors from the colored image, I stamped both using the Silhouette Leaf Branch and the
Puff Circle, for a subtle background and the Springtime Easter Greeting.

I added a punched border, a matching ribbon and some gems to balance out the card design.

I had some extra time, so I thought I would get a jump on making some graduation cards.  With Easter falling so late in the year, this season is sneaking up fast!

I stamped the background using the Large Original Plaid Background stamp along the bottom and up the side of the panel.  I then embossed it and added the Graduation Is the Beginning Greeting which was die cut and matted.

I stamped and fussy cut the Brush Mortarboard, adding a gel pen highlight before attaching it to the card.

Thanks for visiting the blog today...Have a great day!

Spring

Hi Everyone,

We got measurable snow on Sunday and it looked like mid December out my window. My consolation is, I know that it will melt off in a couple of days.  Still,  I needed to make a spring like card this weekend, simply to cheer myself up.

I chose to use a nice sunny, yellow base and go from there.  The Spring is Creeping Verse was stamped and die cut, enhanced with yellow chalk sponging to match.

The Silhouette Leaf Branch was still on my table from this card, so I used the same stamp off technique to create the tree and subtle shadows.  The Puff Circle  was stamped along a strip of matching yellow and I added a punched green border to match the trees.

The ribbon was added before I assembled the card, attaching the greeting at an angle.  I finished it with a couple of tiny yellow birds for embellishment.

Be sure to visit DRS Designs for all of these great stamps! Here's wishing you a bright and cheerful day!
