Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Sunflowers

 Hi Everyone,

I just love this cheerful Bucket of Sunflowers.  What could be better than this to celebrate the season of giving thanks, right?

I stamped the basket, and then masked it off and stamped the Floor on top.  After coloring the image, I die cut and matted it, pairing it up with the World Changed Thankful Greeting that was also die cut.

I attached this onto a leaf embossed background and added a few fussy cut sunflowers from this same image for embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just a Note

Hi Everyone,

My babbling brook and meadow card is one that can be used for any occasion.  I need to keep those handy for when I'm in a pinch, and this would be one that's gender neutral too.  All I have to do is choose a greeting for inside when the time arrives.

I began at the bottom of my image panel, stamping the River Rocks twice, for either side of the stream.  I then stamped the Tree Line up top. After coloring everything in, and stamping some grass using the Easy Grass Background stamp, I then stamped the Fence Line, finishing it off with a few hot air balloons from the 4 in 1 Sky stamp.

The 1 Line Just a Note greeting fit perfectly on the bottom.  I'll pretend I planned that out the whole time, but it's nice when things work out in the end :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Changing World

Hi Everyone,

There isn't a more fitting card sentiment in the stamping world, than the new World Changed Thankful Greeting that was recently released at DRS Designs!

I stamped, die cut and added some sponging in fall colors to the sentiment, and thought I would use some changing fall leaves for the background.  I stamped the Open Leaf in Versamark and heat embossed with some copper colored glittery embossing powder.

I used a die (Darice) for the die cut pattern along the bottom and and dry embossed a band for the center of the card.  A couple of gemstone brads finished it off.

Here I tried to get a closer shot of the background leaves.

Thankful for you stopping by the blog to day!

Have a great one!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Everyone,

I love the sweet, serene look of this chair filled with the bounty of autumn.  With the hat slung over the back, it looks like someone just came in from the garden.  It was a pleasure coloring up the new Autumn Harvest Chair (042K) and making some backgrounds for the fall themed card were fun too.

The brown layer was stamped using the leaf portion of the 4 in 1 Harvest Designs and the strip along the side was stamped using the Argyle Background  and the Argyle Diamond.  I love that the little diamond stamp fits right in there, letting me customize the colors, and with the amount of room left on the bottom, I added the Happy Thanksgiving portion of the new World Changed Thankful Greeting (066H)

Using the other half of my yellow card stock, I decided to make a second card, one that didn't require coloring.  I stamped the Single Fall Tree three times and used the spotlight technique to bring in the effect of autumn leaves. All you need is colored paper and a small circle punch.

I sponged on some green ink for grass and added the fence from the new River Rocks & Fence Line 2 in 1 Scene (087P).

I finished the card using the Script Happy Thanksgiving stamp, die cutting it and sponging it using the color inspiration from the trees.

Be sure to stop by DRS Designs to see all of the new fall themed stamps!

Have a great week...

Thankful

Hi Everyone,

I can hardly believe that it's September.  Even though we haven't gone anywhere this summer and the days felt long, now that we're heading into fall, I feel like the time has flown!  The cooler night time temperatures this past weekend, really put me in the mood for some card making.  I even snuck in some snow on my first card.  DRS Designs has some new fall stamps on the way this week, and I'm excited to give you a peek!

A couple of  the new 2 in 1 stamps allow you to be creative and stamp a whole scene.  I always need to give myself a pep talk before I start this type of project, but it was so easy to get great results. If I can do it, anyone can!

I began by stamping the mountains and then the tree line below it.  Next I stamped the Log Cabin, fence and filled in using the little bare trees. After coloring in everything, I made a mask for the house and stamped the the grass portion, finishing it up with some glitter and the greeting.

Here is the list of stamps used:

Mountain & Tree Line 2 in 1 Scene (045P)
River Rocks & Fence Line 2 in 1 Scene (087P)

This card is right in my usual comfort zone.  One image, one sentiment and a layout of my choice :)

I dry embossed the base with a leaf embossing folder (Darice) and stamped a border using the
Polka Dot Background.  I stamped it once in brown ink, and then used my stamp-a-ma-jig and lined up the green dots in between the spaces and stamped again,  for a slightly different look.   After stamping and coloring the new Sunflower Bucket (062F), I fussy cut it and attached it to a die cut.  I stamped the Thanks Be to God Greeting and layered that up using my punches.

Before I attached the greeting and image, I wrapped the background in a gauzy ribbon to finish it off.

I hope this has got your fall cardmaking mojo going.  Be sure to check in here all week for more sneak peaks, of the new seasonal stamps! Have a great day...
