Hi Friends!

Today is Lindsay's Stamp Stuff day on the ole blog-o, and my card was made using an image from her set Cute Halloween.  I must confess, I made this card back in the winter.  I was just bored and wanted to make something "just because".  If you make a Halloween card in the middle of February, it's definitely a just

 for the fun of crafting kind of thing...lol! 

Anyway, Rod has been taking some vacation days last week and this, so it was great to have something new  to post, without actually making anything...Love it when stuff works out like that. 

I like it that this image of the pumpkins have faces that are carved.  It let me color the the eyes yellow, so that it looks like light shining through them. I also roughed up the edges of my papers, I guess I was trying to add to the whole scary, halloween-y feel.

Jingle All the Way

Good Monday Morning!

Today I'm so happy to finally be able to post a card made with brand spanking new DRS Designs stamps.    How new are they?  They are so new that this only counts as a sneak peek, because the day they are released for purchase is August 21st...It's hard to be patient, believe me I know!!

The stamps used on my card are as follows:

The background was stamped in Versamark and then embossed with clear powder.  I love that effect.  The main image was colored with Copics and I dry embossed a piece of Coordinations card stock and then sanded over it lightly to bring out the color underneath.

Here is a close up of the embossing and the dimension I added by popping up the big ribbon.

Hi Everyone!

Today is my posting day for Lindsay's Stamp Stuff and I decided I need a masculine card for my birthday card stash.  This Steampunk set is perfect for guy cards, and I'm using this vintage looking car/truck for my card.

I did my usual thing and added a sentiment with a traditional stamp from my stash.

Kitty at Rest

Hi Everyone!

I have another animal card for you today, this one was made with stamps from Scrolls Work. I couldn't help but think about the resident cat at the Algonquin Hotel in NYC the last time we stayed there.  Her name was Matilda and I imagined her when I made this card.  She looked like she secretly ran the place...lol.  

Do you know about the Algonquin Hotel?  Beautiful place.  Historic.  Home of the infamous Round Table of which Dorthy Parker was a part of.   Do you know about Dorthy Parker?  She is one of my favorite poets.  Sharp. Biting. Clever. Witty. Dark. Depressing.  And slightly mean. Still love her tho'.  I have digressed...

 This kitty is Koko and she totally looks like she's on vacation, doesn't she??

                                

This sentiment (Tuna) is tailor made for this image...So funny!  I just love how content and satisfied she is just waiting for her treat.

Angel Pets

Hi Everyone!

I have another sympathy card today made with stamps from the newest release from DRS Designs.

This stamp (Pet Angel Group) has a group of pets that includes a cute, little hamster. (I'm pretending its a guinea pig.  Growing up, that was the family pet in my husband's house.  Don't tell anyone, but he has a total soft spot for those little critters!)  I used the Sorry to hear of your loss sentiment to complete it.

These are the stamps I used to create the background for this card.  Remember, DRS Designs has gobs of  stamps for you to make your own custom background paper.

Aloha Friday Blackberries....

Hey All!

On my trip this week to Amish Country I stopped at a roadside stand and snapped this photo with my phone.  These blackberries (and blueberries in the upper corner) were sooooooo amazing and luscious looking, I couldn't resist!  They were HUGE, sweet and delicious!

I was just planning on keeping this in the photos on my phone, since it was the only one I took that day.  I mean, one random photo of some berries.  Who really cares right?  It was just that one moment kind of thing.

However, today is Aloha Friday over at Amber Inklings and she has challenged everyone to post 1, or 2 or at max, 3 things that inspired you this week.   Ta Da!!!  My photo has a purpose!!! Yipee :) 

 There is one catch though...No paper products!  C'mon, you can do it.  There is even an Amber Ink iPaper giveaway to a lucky participant!

Vintage Dress

Hi Crafty Peoples!

A few of my team mates went to CHA and were kind enough to share their photos of the big event. So many new exciting products will be hitting the stores and I know it will be hard to keep cash in my pocket when they do. 

 So until those money sucking things arrive, I was inspired by the vintage and Paris themed paper items I saw and decided to use a freebie that Lindsay (from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff) had on her blog recently. 

The base of my card is acetate (not sure if it show up too well in the photo, pretty cool in real life tho') and the Eiffel Tower was stamped using Stazon.

Isn't this vintage dress image a great freebie?  I couldn't wait to use it...so feminine and pretty!  I colored the dress with Copics, and created the dots with my colorless blender.  I decided it needed some bling, so I spritzed the entire image with some spray called Shimmerz.  There are a ton of products like this on the market, and I know people even make their own...I was just too lazy to research how to do it. 

Here is a close up of the effect.  I added those circular stickers (from Basic Grey) because the colors matched the dress and flourish, but rhinestones may have been more appropriate. Oh well, C'est la vie!  (I have no clue if I spelled that correctly and my spell check doesn't speak French either..lol)

Creative Clutter

Hi Everyone!

I made a new friend this week.  Actually, I thought I made a new friend, but really she is an old friend.  I was chatting via email, blogs and Papercraft Planet with someone named Melissa.  Turns out she is someone I went to high school with... only I knew her as Missy, this sweet, super smart petite girl with braces.  Well, we all know that braces are a good thing because her smile is really fab and friendly in her little profile pic...lol!  How crazy is the Internet??  It makes the world so small!  Have you joined up with the Amber Ink group on Papercraft Planet?? Maybe you too, can find an old friend, and bond over all things crafty! 

Now, on to my card made with an image from Amber Ink. 

This is from the digi set You're the Perfect Package and it reminded me of my craft space after I have finished my last few cards.  Everything, everywhere!!!

I paired it with the sentiment "Creative Clutter is Better than Idle Neatness" and thought this would be a great card in honor of WOYWW.

Knee Replacement

Hi Everyone!

My card today features one of the stamps from the most current release at DRS Designs.  DRS Designs carries some of the most unique stamps I have ever seen and this is no exception.  Chances are, you know someone who has had knee replacement surgery.  A couple of years ago, my aunt and cousin had them done in the same year.  How fabulous that there is now a stamp for just such an occasion!  This is card is so much more personal than an ordinary get well soon one. 

 

I kept it pretty clean and simple so that it was gender neutral.  After stamping the Simple Berry Branch, I just colored them in to match the card.

Keep the Sun in your Heart

Good Monday Morning!

I hope you had a great weekend...Ours was peaceful and included a picnic on the lawn at Blossom before the Cleveland Orchestra concert.  Oh, and the night time temps came down briefly, so we were able to enjoy a bonfire with marshmallows one night too.  Yum!

OK, on to the crafty goodness :)  My card today was made with some iPaper from Amber Ink.  I decided to make this sweet card using the umbrella image from the set named Rainy Day.  I paper pieced the umbrella, and used some traditional stamps from my stash to complete the look.  I love pairing digi stamps with traditional ones, you get so much mileage out of your craft supplies that way.

I know this set is all about rain, but the weather has been so beautiful here, I decided to make it into a happy, sunny card by adding a computer generated sentiment.  I couldn't resist taking the photo outside in the sunshine too!
