Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Matching Towels

 Hi Everyone,

I know it looks like I'm posting a black and white photo, but I promise that it's not one.  It's just a card that's made with gray, white and black cardstock.  For a modern wedding card, I thought I would make it to reflect the colors in a modern home, which always seems to be gray right now. What happened to the pink and peach colors in a bathroom...I know, I'm showing my age ;-)

Anyway, this is an idea from ages ago in my idea binder, only the towels had his and hers stamped on them.  I chose to add a tiny heart instead and use the new Mr. & Mrs. stamp to make the wedding card.

The card is pretty self-explanatory, but here are the measurements I used to make the towels and bar.

The bar: 1/4" X 3 1/2"

The towels: 1" X 3 1/2"

Mr. & Mrs.

Happy Birthday America!

If you came here looking for a patriotic post, just blame me and my poor planning.  Be sure to scroll down though, because you will find plenty of cards leading up to today.

Today's card celebrates love, and I used the new Mr. & Mrs. sentiment which I stamped, and heat embossed onto the base.  The bride and groom were made using heart shaped dies that I embellished with dry embossing and a few gems. The groom's bow tie was made using the 4 in 1 Fashion Accessories stamp and some heat embossing.

For folks in the USA, I hope you have a great day celebrating!  If you're looking for more stamps, be sure to check out the entire DRS Designs catalog here!

US Marines & A Wedding

 Hi Everyone,

Just a couple of simple cards for my post that were made using easy layouts and some trusty ribbons on each one.

I can't help but keep with a star theme when using these military emblems, so I embossed the background and die cut the Marine Proud and fussy cut the matching Anchor.  I finished it off with a ribbon of matching stars.

June really kicks off wedding season, so I was thrilled to make a card featuring the new Blending Lives Greeting.  It was lovely enough on its own, so I kept it monochromatic and added a die cut flower and some silver embellished ribbon.

Be sure to stop by the DRS Designs shop to see all of these stamps and much, much more!

Have a great day!

Air Force

  Hi Everyone,

In keeping with the summertime and American colors of red, white and blue, I went ahead used them for this military card share.

The stars on my embossing folder matched the stars on the Star Wreath from DRS Designs, so that's how that choice happened.  I embossed both the wreath and the Air Force Proud emblem and then die cut them out, layering them on top of each other.

I used the Thank You For Your Service for my sentiment and colored in the stars and words on that, and the emblem with a red marker.  A few punched stars were added to finish it off.

Red, White & Blue

 Hi Everyone,

I have a couple od patriotic cards for today's share here on the blog.

This first one is mostly dies and embossing, and I tried to keep with a stars and stripes theme, using the Starry Background and the Thank You for Your Service stamps.  As I was completing it, I added a few punched stars foe embellishments.

I was trying to keep the red, white and blue theme going and remembered the phrase, "Red sky in morning, sailors take warning," so I sponged up some water and sky, adding the tree line from Mountain & Treeline 2 in 1 Scene at the shore.

I figured who would rescue someone from the waters but the Coast Guard, so I stamped and embossed the Coast Guard Proud Emblem and attached it to the card.

Thanks for visiting today!

Baby Celebration

 Hi Everyone,

My niece's baby shower was this past weekend, so this post is of the projects I made for the celebration.

They know the baby is a boy, so I colored up Jenny Giraffe in yellow and blue, adding a simple
One Line Welcome greeting.

Julianne and Dan are big travel buffs, so the party was to have a adventure theme.  I was in charge of making the favors, so I got the suitcase boxes online and added my own tags using the Let the Adventure Begin Greeting.

I displayed the favors in a vintage suitcase with this letter board sign, but I forgot to take a picture of the final set up...Of course. (Eye roll.)

Thankfully I took these along the way as I was making them.

Here is a close up of the favors.

And here they all were, waiting to be tagged.  At the bottom you can see the little chocolate globes that I filled them with.

Thanks for peeking in today and I'll be back with some more patriotic cards next week!

Army Proud

 Hi Everyone,

I was in need of a couple of cards and had little time to make them, so I went with my favorite Dogwood Branch stamp that would work for both, and a couple of sentiments.

I simply stamped the With Sympathy Greeting and the flowers multiple times, adding color by stamping using a small square ink pad.

I did the same here, but added a die cut Brush Thank You.  Some glitter glue was added for some flair.

Finally, I made another star filled card to honor our military, using the following stamps:

Navy Proud

  Hi Everyone,

Since we're coming up on Memorial Day weekend, I thought I would share a military themed card.  DRS Designs has recently released a group of military emblems and my card today showcases Navy Proud.

I took inspiration from some of the emblems I saw online, which contained the colors of yellow and blue.  I heat embossed the emblem and also the background made using the Starry Background stamp.

To complete the card, I added a die cut banner along with a few die cut stars.

This card is one I made for a friend's birthday, and I took inspiration from this card:

Birthday Toast

  Hi Everyone,

One more cheerful birthday card coming your way, featuring this sweet little Party Toast and the matching Birthday Toast Greeting.

The background was made using an embossing folder (Lifestyle Crafts) and I fussy cut the toast, attaching it to a die cut square.  Some of my most used sentiments are ones that fit inside of a punch, so don't be surprised if you see me using this again and again.

I attached the image and greeting with dimensional tape, along with some fussy cut candles from
Birthday Candle Burst for embellishment.

Fishing Birthday

 Hi Everyone,

I love how happy this Proud Catch Fisherman looks when it comes to his big catch, so I thought he would be perfect for this new  O-Fishal Birthday Greeting!

The greeting and image do most of heavy lifting when it comes to making a cute card, so I simply made a background using Vicki's Versatile Background and Sand Snow Water Lines, using blue and green ink.

The black strip was embellished by me adding a few doodles and the Big Mouth Bass was fussy cut and added with pop dot.

Here hoping YOU have a REEL-Y great day too!

Mother's Day

 Hi Everyone,

Since the new You Were Right Mother's Day Greeting mentions forgoing flowers and teacups, I thought I would make the card using non floral stamps.

I used my favorite Splatter Background stamp and inked it up multiple times using yellow, pink, orange and green ink.  I then used those same colors to color up the stamped Small Stained-Glass image.

To finish it off, I added a couple of rows of matching gems.

Virtual stamping hugs to all the crafty moms out there!

Happy Birthday

  Hi Everyone,

This new Mr. Earl's Happy Birthday greeting is perfect for anyone's birthday.  The big, chunky letters make it super fun to color and I love the star that dots the "i"!

That star was the inspiration for my background that I made using a star embossing folder and the Interlocking Star Background.

Who's more festive than our own Birthday Party Pig?  No one! So of course, he had to make an appearance on my card.  I did a bit of fussy cutting and added some glitter to his balloon too.

  Hi Everyone,

I'm a little early with my Father's Day card share, but if you love the fun greeting, this gives you plenty of time to order it for your own stamping!

The Nailed It! Father's Day Greeting is perfect for those handy dads out there.  I really respect and appreciate the folks that have that specific know-how, because that isn't me at all!

I stamped and die cut the sentiment, adding some sponging to match the base and Ruler.  I decorated the embossed gear themed background with some metal brads and added some tools that were fussy cut from the Tool Christmas Stocking to finish it off.

Lots of fun new stamps were recently released and you can find them all right here!

Happy Stamping!

S'more Birthday Wishes

  Hi Everyone,

During the height of Covid, when we were all socializing outside and not sharing food, one of the things I did was make up individual packets of ingredients for people to make their own s'mores at our fire pit.  That ended up being my inspiration for today's card share.

The colored card layers represent the chocolate, marshmallow and graham cracker that make up the delicious treat, and the twine is what I used to close up the cellophane bag.  I struggle for a while to choose an embossing folder for the background and eventually settled on using this Darice brand one.

The S'more Birthday Greeting is newly released from DRS Designs and I stamped and fussy cut the Smooshed S'more to match.

I couldn't resist really playing off the deliciousness concept, so I took a chomp out of the corner of the S'more card by using a scallop punch on all the layers.

Sending sweet wishes your way for a lovely spring day!

Karin
