Good Morning!

Ack!  Blogger was giving me problems all day yesterday.  I hate it when technology doesn't work.

Well, I'm so glad everything is working again, and I can bring you this card that I made for the Wet/Dry embossing challenge at Caardvarks Challenge Blog!  DRS Designs is the sponsor this month, so grab those embossing supplies and you might be the winner of some DRS Stamps!

For this card I used a Kraft base and embossed a light pink piece of cardstock with some paw prints.  I used all DRS Designs stamps for this card and they are:

I love the Spirograph like stamp.  I colored in every other opening after stamping it to create that effect on the frame. 

I also used some clear embossing powder on the brown paw prints along the bottom.  Don't you just love the sentiment?  So funny!

Smarty Pants

Good Morning!

How was your weekend?  Mine was good.  I'm going to give myself away as a total geek, but I loved watching the National Spelling Bee on Friday night :)  I look forward to it each year; maybe it's because my own spelling ability is so poor.  Thanks in part to spell check...lol. That's what technology will get ya.  I'm so out of practice and I was actually a decent speller in elementary school. (If you've never seen Spellbound, a documentary about kids and the National Spelling Bee, I highly recommend it. Totally great!)

It's been awhile since I was able to bring you a card made with my stamps from Scrolls Work, so I'm happy to be able to post this one today.

In honor of all those smarty pants kids, I made this card with this cute fella (Garrette #4042) who looks dapper and smart, hence the sentiment. (Charming Girly Quips #1462)

Scrapling

Good Morning!

I have to admit, this is a first for me.  I made a Scrapling!   Don't know what a Scrapling is?  It's a tiny card that measures 1 1/4"X 4 1/4" and it's named after that scrap of paper you have left over after cutting a traditional A2 sized card down to a square.

I decided to continue making summer themed cards, and I used Citrus Background (H193) and stamped it all over the base.  I then very casually colored in random fruits, leaving some open.  The cute drink came from Drink Line Up (G173) which I cut out and adhered.  The simple, but great sentiment Enjoy Today (C1145) pretty much sums up what we should all do more often!  Some matching ribbon finishes it off...I even took the photo of this cutie card on my deck outside. (wink)

A Perfect Summer Day

Good Morning! 

I'm so happy to bring you a bright cheerful card today...And please read to the end of this post for all the DRS Designs giveaway info!

This adorable verse comes from the collection at DRS Designs and its called Broken Mower Greeting (G863) and I thought it would be perfect on a summer themed card. 

The sun is a yellow circle punch that I covered in stamping glitter, and the clouds were made by simply sponging them on a blue background with white pigment ink.  The grass was created buy cutting 2 strips of green paper, stamping them using the Easy Grass Background (E059) and then cutting fringes to simulate the blades of grass. 

The sentiment is highlighted with some yellow chalk sponging and the refreshing drink is from the stamp Drink Lineup (G173)  There are 4 drinks on this stamp, but I just cut this one out after coloring it with my Copics and adhered it to the card.

Birds and Branches

Hey Everyone! 

 The card I'm bringing you today is from the set Birds and Branches from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  This has great images for the spring and summer months and I did my usual thing, pairing it with traditional stamps.  The feet prints in the background and the "Peep Peep" sentiment came from a new group of stamps I won in some blog candy here.   I decided to keep this card clean and simple, so that I have a "Thinking of You, Cheer Up, Hi or B-day"card on hand when I need it. The Birds and Branches is a great set for a variety of purposes!  I added a subtle sky to the background with some chalk, that's about as fancy as I got for this card!

Graduation Time

I thought I would work on some graduation cards, since it's that time of year.  Lindsay's Stamp Stuff has this set named School Rules and I used the image of the diploma from it for my card.  It also has a cute sentiment included too, so I incorporated that on my card as well.  This makes a great graduation card for a guy :)The background paper is also from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. It comes in a digital paper pack, so after you download it, you can print them out time and time again!  It's called School Papers, and it's such a useful thing for this time of year. I can see it on cards, teacher gifts, invites, favors.....Stop by Lindsay's blog to see what surprise she has for you this week and the rest of the Design Team as great ideas too.  Thanks for the visit!

For My Dad Challenge

Hello Everyone!

It's time for another challenge at I Love Digi! Our sponsor with a fab prize this week is The Secret Crafter. This weeks prize is money to spend in the shop, cool eh? Well, needless to say, anytime the challenge is male oriented, it's always a challege for me. I especially have very few guy themed digis, so I had to put on my thinking cap for this one.

This and That

Good Morning everyone!

I have been busy with random stuff, so here are some bits and pieces from my life.

1. Went to see the movie Babies.

2. Did yard work all day yesterday.

3. The city is currently working on fixing our street, so it's really noisy outside.

4. My mother-in-law is on what I consider continuous improvement with regarding her fractured back.

5. My neighbor hit a deer.  They are ok.  The car is not.

6. Ate at the Treehugger Cafe. Yum!

7. I'm waiting for the sprinkler system guy to show up at my house today.

8. I'm impatiently waiting for the new season of Mad Men to start.

9. In the mean time, I'm watching the second season of Thirtysomething.  Remember that show?

10. Currently reading Pillars of the Earth.  It's almost 1000 pages.  I'm on page 600.

11. Took a break from reading about the Middle Ages in Pillars and just finished The Help.  Loved it.

12.  Another neighbor brought back my mason jar filled with these lovely peonies from her yard.

Finally, here is a simple get well card I made using up these crummy, generic band aids that don't stick to your finger.

Ou-La-La

Hi Everyone!

My card today was made with one of the photo realistic stamps carried by Scrolls Work.  These are very cool and unique stamps.  There are also may different ones to choose from and perfect for those vintage and collage projects that are so popular.  Also, Scrolls Work stamps are very deeply etched red rubber, and stamp clear impressions time after time.  Not to mention, VERY affordable!

I chose to pair her with one of my favorite stamps from Scrolls Work, Eiffel #2001.  I also used the Kit 2 large round  #2538 filigree stamp to frame my card and added the sentiment from Charming Girly Quips #1462.  The background was made using a brayer and sponging.  If you can't see it in the photo, I added a rhinestone to the little bow in her hair :) Thanks for stopping in to visit today and this card is linked to The City Crafter Challenge Blog where the theme is Paris!
