Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

So Sorry

Hi Everyone!

My card today features a few stamps from Scrolls Work.  Did you know that Scrolls Work is currently having a 50% off sale?  If you love their stamps, now is the time to buy them.  Such a deal.  The red rubber is so deeply etched, you get a clean, crisp image every time you stamp.  Did I mention they are crazy affordable too?  You would not be disappointed if you buy.  Honest :)

This little dog is named...FRITZ!  (He's only $1.50... And he's not even on sale!) Isn't that a perfect name for this cutie pie pup?  He looked so forlorn with his head cocked to the side, that I couldn't help but pair it with the sentiment So Sorry from the set Personal Holidays.  When my childhood dog (Her name was Sunshine.  How 70's is that?  lol!) did something wrong, you always knew right away by the look on her face and her demeanor.  Just like Fritz here!
Instead of using brads, I chose to use the little paw prints as embellishments on the card...
And I embossed little Fritz with clear embossing powder...

Right now there is a new round of "The Question Game" going on at the Scrolls Work blog.  All you have to do is answer a question, and you will be in the drawing for some Christmas stamps.  It's so easy!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day...

Challenges this card is linked to are as follows:
Rosie-D's Challenge-All creatures great & small
Stampin' Royalty- Keep it Simple

Details not listed above-Paper: The Paper Company, DCWV, Ink: Stampin' Up!, Versamark, Punch: Stampin' Up!, Chalk: Stampin' Up!, Nesties and clear embossing powder.

Adorable Onesie

Hi Friends!

It's Thursday, and that means it's time for another card using some stamps from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  This week I chose to use an image from this set named On the Line.  This set has 19 different images in it!

I used the image of the baby onesie and paper pieced the outfit. I think it's nice to have a baby card in your stash of stuff, so you can grab and go at a moments notice.

The word on the front was a traditional stamp...
This is a close up of the twine which serves as my clothes line.  I tried making it gender neutral since I don't have a specific baby in mind for my card, but it still came out girlie to me.  Oh well.  I still like it and think it's cute!

FYI: If you click on the photo at the top of my side bar, it will take you to a set of digis that a group of My Grafico designers created together.  Lindsay was one of them, and all proceeds from the purchase of this set go to Stitching for Pink an organization which supports breast cancer research.  Shopping with no guilt :)

Challenges this card is linked to are as follows:
ABC Design-Paper Piecing
                                                                     All Sorts-Baby
Cowgirl Sunday-Anything Goes

Check out Lindsay (and the freebie on her blog!) and the rest of the DT for their creations this week!

Angel Kitty

Good Morning!

I'm back today with another card using some stamps from the most recent release at DRS Designs.  This is a companion card to the one I made in this post.  That card had a cute puppy on it, and I chose to go with a blue color scheme.  This one with the darling Cat Angel, I decided to use pink.  The Interlocking Hearts stamp created the background and I used the Loss of Pet Sympathy for the sentiment.
The background and focal image was colored with my Copic markers, and the ribbon and flower soft add some needed texture to the card.

Thanks for checking in with me today....

Here are the challenges my card is linked to:

Creative Cottage-Touchy/Feely (Texture)
Rosie-D's Challenge-All Creatures Great and Small

P.S. I am soooo excited that Mad Men is back on Sunday nights!!!! Love that show ;)  Are you a fan?

Mark Twain Book Mark

Hi Everyone!

Last week was Vacation Bible School at my church and I was glad to be able to help out.  I'm kinda behind on my housework though, so this will be a quickie post.

I made this book mark using a wonderful stamp from Scrolls Work.  It's a quote by Mark Twain called Ideal Life and there is nothing I love more, than being right in the middle of a great book that I can't put down.
I always bring a book or two on vacation with me, and this would be the perfect thing to mark where I left off.
I just paired the quote with some great graphic paper, added a ribbon and I was good to go.

A new round of the question game is going on at the Scrolls Work blog.  Just click here to answer a question and you will be put in the drawing for free stamps!  Easy peasy :)

Thanks for dropping by!

Challenges this is linked to are as follows:
Moxie Fab-Clean and Graphic

All Things Grow with Love

Hi and Happy Weekend!  Woo Hoo!

Amber Ink is sponsoring the challenge over at I Heart 2 Stamp this week, so here is the card I made in support.  The prize is a gift certificate for the Amber Ink store, so play along using this sketch.

Since this sketch was square, it just seemed like it wanted to be an easel card, so that's what I made using the set Grow Green and some iPaper from the store.

I did choose to flip the sketch in order to use this cute image of garden tools.

This is a close up of the one cabbage up on its pop dot.  I did that so it would act as the stopper for keeping the card open.

Thanks for the visit today!

Other challenges this card is linked to are as follows:
Meljen's-Easel card
YNS Challenge-Easel card

Details not listed above-Paper: The Paper Company, Stamps: PTI, Markers: Copic, Punches: Marvy, Stampin Up!, Twill: Martha Stewart Nesties, flowers and brads from my supplies.

DRS Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone!

T.G.I.F....Wow, I haven't used that in a long time...I wonder if it has gone out of fashion now that there are so many other abbreviations out there. Hmmm...

Well, we are still in full sketch challenge mode over at the DRS Designs blog, so I have another card to show you, using the sketch below.
You know the deal, only a small peek here.  You have to head over to the DRS Designs blog to see the entire card.  It uses one of the new images from this months release and I flipped the sketch to shake things up a bit.

Seriously, this image is ADORABLE!

See you over at the DRS Designs blog!

Strawberries and Tuesday Morning Sketches

Good Morning All!

This week Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is sponsoring the challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

All you have to do to play along, is choose your favorite sketch from the previous sketches and you could be the winner of a set of stamps from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff!

This is the sketch I chose to use...
My card today uses an image from the set Strawberries and Watermelon.  Goodness, I wish the summer fruit season lasted longer, don't you?  I get so tired of apples and bananas in the winter.  The berries don't seem to have the same sweet taste in the off season.  These look good enough to eat right off the card, lol.

I made this little pinwheel embellishment to fit the challenge on the CARDS blog, which was of course, pinwheels!
Also, I finally used this border punch I got after this past Christmas.  It was one of those things I *had* to have, and here it took me over half a year to use it.  Sigh. So typical of me.  It is cute on this card though, and it kind of reminds me of those paper doilies.

Here is a look at the entire set.

The entire design team from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is using a their favorite sketch from Tuesday Morning.  Stop by their blogs for some inspiration and link up your card for a chance to win!

Grand Opening of Amber Ink

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Amber Ink Grand Opening Blog Frolic! Today the Amber Ink store officially opens its doors, and you are invited to hang out with us! We've also invited some special friends to participate, in addition to the Brilliant th(Ink)Tank Girls, so get ready to drool!

For my first card, I used a layout from Clean and Simple stamping....

Along with one of my favorite images of the puffy fish from the set Can I Keep Him which is finally available in the Amber Ink store today.  I just love the way the rick rack imitates the look of seaweed waving in the ocean.  The last puffy fish is up on a pop dot, the sentiment is computer generated and the paisley ipaper is available today too.

I'm probably really late to the game on this little tip, but the ipaper is totally cool if you print it out on vellum!!  I don't know why that never occurred to me before, but I LOVE this idea!

I used this beautiful gradient pink dolphin paper as an overlay on a white card base.  This design is just so beautiful that it stands on its own...I don't even think water theme when I see this card.  I adore multiple use items and versatility.  The medallion on front of my card was created with another sheet of darker companion ipaper available in the shop today as well.

Pink and black is such a striking color combination and my ruffled ribbon was created by scrunching it along a piece of tacky tape.

I wish the photo captured the true beauty of the light shining though the vellum....Stunning!

Not only do we have eye candy for you, but we're giving away some secret hidden prizes along the way. You won't know where they are hiding, so make sure to leave some love wherever you go. Winners will be chosen from the comments on the pre-selected blog posts.

Without further ado, here's the list of genius...go forth and comment!

Oh, What A Doll

Hi Everyone!

Don't you just love the title of my post?  It's the name of the new stamp set available tomorrow (yes, THE day is almost here!) at the Amber Ink store!  Yay!

I can't begin to tell you how dear to my heart this new set is...I simply adored paper dolls as a child.  In fact, I still have all my paper dolls packed away in a box to this day.  I played with them constantly ( which is why some are all held together with tape...lol) and even used to make clothes for them myself.

After I was too old to play with them, like maybe Jr. high age, I used to pull them out and write torrid soap opera stories about them :)  I never truly out grew them.

This fabulous new set has a fantastic Amber girl in it, along with a slew of clothes to make different outfits for her...dress, scuba gear, bathing suit...Shut up, I totally love it!

I use the current layout from Clean and Simple Stamping

and made her into super volleyball chick.  She is dressed in shorts and tank top made using the new paper, Hope, Popcorn and Wine.  I also liked this layout because I could use a coordinating strip of dotty paper on the side.

Love her!

And just so the boys don't feel left out, I used the digi image of the ball to create a card for them as well.

I copied it a couple of times, colored them just because I could and added a simple computer generated sentiment.  I layered it on top of a piece of the new seahorse paper and added some ribbon.  I thought ribbon in black with a knot instead of a bow would be ok on a boy card :)

Well, tomorrow is the big day!  Make sure you come back to see what fun is in store...

Thanks for visiting me!

The Countdown Continues...

*This is my second post for today....Please scroll down for the current sketch challenge at DRS Designs!*

Hi Everyone!

I'm so happy you stopped back to visit me today.  We are in full swing with sneak peeks for the Grand Opening of Amber Ink on Tuesday July 20th.  This is the paper I previewed yesterday. It's the Seahorse Paisley, which is just so vibrant and fun; fabulous for this time of year when the weather is warm and the sunshine is bright.

I used it to make this card which incorporates images from the brand new stamp set "Can I Keep Him?"  This new underwater themed set is full of darling little sea creatures, and I was excited that they fit the current Mojo Monday sketch challenge.
Here is a close up of the squares up on their pop dots.  The sea animals are colored with Copic markers and I tried to capture the glossy effects I added to the pearl for a little shine.
One of my favorite images is this little puffy fish...So cute, right?

This next paper sample is a bright pink with seaweed, paisley and goldfish on it....

And I used it on my next card.  It uses the adorable Mermaid image from the same set named "Can I Keep Him?"

I couldn't resist using that cute little fish again, only this time he's (Yes, it's a he...He is blue after all) up on a pop dot and more like an embellishment.

I just envision crafters using these papers and stamps for little girls birthday parties, pool party invites and vacation journals....the possibilities are endless!

There is also a companion set of digi images coming out, all in an underwater theme.  It's just chock full of different types of coral, seaweed and sea urchin.

Goodness, it really is a thrill to be a tiny part of this venture and I'm so happy you're coming along for the ride too!  I can't wait for you to see everything on July 20th, but until then, stop by the Design Team blogs on my side bar.  They may be showing you something Amber Ink-a-licious of their own today.

See you tomorrow!

Other challenges one or both are linked to are as follows:
Aud Sentiements-No sentiment on front of card
Bunny Zoe's-Summer Days
Crafty Card Challenge-Summer With the option of Yellow

Grow Green

Hi Everyone and Happy Saturday!

Today I'm continuing the sneak peek of the new things coming to the Amber Ink store!

Remember this little snippet from yesterday?  This is one of the new ipapers (the digital papers) that will be in the Amber Ink store on July 20th.  This is the new Grow Green paper and it comes in other colors and shades (lighter versions) as well.  You can see the current ipapers in the store right now.
This is the card I made using it and the set Grow Green.  Isn't she delightful?  How totally cool to have a product that is so current, what with everyone growing gardens themselves, the organic movement and just all around health consciousness.
I love the little vegetable images that are in this set, and my little seed-like brads were the perfect embellishments.  If you're not patient and can't wait to get your hands on this set, it's available in digi.  However, it is also coming out as a traditional stamp set as well !

Don't you think this card is cute and fun?  Well, I do and I think it fits the Cute and Fun challenge over at Moxie Fab World!

This card will be going out to my cousin as a thank you.  She gave me a bunch of zucchini the other day, which means, what we can't finish for dinner, will be made into some zucchini bread.  Yum!

Stop back tomorrow for another peek at one of the new sets coming on Tuesday July 20th.

Oh, I almost forgot...Are you a member of Paper Craft Planet??? Amber Ink has a group over there.  I invite you to join us in the fun as we chat and get to know each other, and share our love and excitement of all things Amber Ink.

I Spy Some Paper!

* This is my second post for today, please scroll down to see my post for Scrolls Work Stamps. *

Hi Everyone!

Well, the sneak peeks for Amber Ink have finally arrived!  Woo Hoo! Get ready to be wowed by the amazing/schmazing new digital papers that will be in the store on Grand Opening day Tuesday July 20th!

They are some of the coolest coordinating papers in bright fun colors and designs...They will knock your socks off!

Here are a few lookies of the papers I have used on my projects that will be revealed over the next few days...

And this one....
How about this here...

This one is super yummy!

I know, right?  So totally cute...You buy it once and you can print it out forever and ever!! Such a bargain :)

She also has this paper which I used to make a Wine Bottle tag for gift giving purposes.  I used an image from the set Hope, Popcorn and Wine...

Here are a couple of photos of the tag.

To make the shirt match the polka dot paper, I used the colorless Copic blender and simply held it for moment on my colored in portion.  It just lifts the color away like magic ;)

I attached the image with a brad and flower embellishment on one corner only, so that it would open on a hinge with a spot behind for a personal greeting.
The tag measures 4 1/2" x 11" with a score at 2 3/4". Just in case you need to make one for this weekend.  Go ahead, impress your friends.  No more boring, cheesy wine bags for you!

In case you think this set is only good for making things for the female persuasion, think again.  I used images from Hope, Popcorn and Wine for this Father's Day card a month ago...
Getting excited right?  Well, stay tuned to my blog each day to see the reveal of some new stamps.  Now, if you can't wait until then to see more, stop by the rest of the design team blogs (they are on my side bar) for their inspiration for today!

Until tomorrow....

Details not listed above- Paper: Amber Ink, The Paper Company, Markers: Copic,Flower and brad from my stash of stuff.

Lawn Ornaments

Good Morning Everyone!

It's been a while since I posted a card made with some of my Scrolls Work stamps, so today I have a couple of cards made with little garden gnomes
I created the background using the Marble background stamp and made a punny sentiment on my computer to match the lady gnome and her home.

Here is a closer look at all the elements.  I roughed up all the edges of the paper to give the card some texture and a rustic look.

After I made this card, which I thought would make a cute welcome home card, I couldn't help but think of one of my favorite movies, Amelie.  If you read my blog, you know I'm a huge fan of all kinds of movies.

One story line in the movie revolves around Amelie's dad.  He is a lonely widower who never ventures out to do much.  To encourage him to move on with his life, Amelie decides to pull the Traveling Gnome Prank. She steals a garden gnome from his yard and gives it to a friend of hers who travels alot.  She in turn, takes pictures of this gnome in front of all these historic places and monuments and anonymously sends them at random times to Amelie's father.  It's so cute to see his bewilderment when these photos arrive!  I won't tell you what happens in this subplot of this sweet movie, you will just have to see it for yourself. (FYI...You will have to read, the movie is in French . Unless you are French, then it's just a movie ;)

Any hoo, that is where is got the idea for my Bon Voyage card.
These are the stamps I used to create it:

Eiffel Tower...I think you already know I love this stamp!

I'm  happy to say it also fits the challenge at Double Dutch which is create a card based on a movie.

Also, if you would like to win some free stamps from Scrolls Work, click here to play the Question Game!

Thanks for visiting today and have a great weekend!

Details not listed above- Paper: The Paper Company, Ink: Versafine, Markers: Copic, Punches: Stampin' Up, ribbon, buttons, twine from my supplies.
