Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Operation Write Home Cardmaking

Hi Everyone!

I must say, my Operation Write Home card making event was a complete success.  Everyone that came seemed to enjoy themselves, and knowing that we were supporting a good cause made it so worth wile.  Now, I wish my photos did the event justice.  I really am the worst when it comes to taking photos of something.  I'd so much rather be in the moment, than stop, get the camera, and try and document it.  So much so, that most times I forget.  Which is what almost happened on Friday.  So I apologize for the slightly boring photos of these fabby friends working .

I had 11 stations set up with a sample card and all the materials to make a copy.  After I briefly described how the card was to be made, everyone picked a spot, and when they were finished with that card, they moved to the next open spot.

I tried to keep the cards rather flat and simple.  We had both novice and experienced card makers alike.

This is Beth...She knew what she was doing.  Can't you tell?

This is Holly.  (I always wished my name was Holly because I was born around Christmas.  But then then what would I have named my blog, right?)

Photo of one of the clean and simple cards.  This sentiment came in a set, so I gave everyone creative freedom to choose the sentiment for the card, so they all wouldn't be the same.

This is my cousin Jenn, and my friend Laura.  Her and her husband started keeping bees and making honey this year.  Isn't that interesting?  My cousin Jenn and her husband started making their own beer this year.  Me and Rod. Nothing.

Here is Jenn again with a very large glass of Pomegranate Lemonade near the cards.  There were no disasters.  Unlike when I have beverages near my cards.  Rod has banned them from my craft area.

This is not everyone that came.  Some folks had already left before I remembered to get the camera, so I apologize for not getting you in the pics.  My bad.

The ladies that couldn't make it, donated cards as well. Big, huge thanks to them too.  My total cards being shipped out is 130!  Isn't that exciting?

Thank you everyone for all your time and effort!  I can't wait to do it again next year.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting me!
