Hi Everyone,
My post today was inspired by my team mate Julie,
and I know I speak for everyone at DRS
Designs when I say that her cards consistently blow our minds...In the best
possible way. She has an eye for design, a way with techniques and the ability
to use stamps in surprising ways. That being said, she posted a gorgeous card
on Friday, (if you
missed it, click here) and my card today doesn't come close. When I played
around and I wasn't happy with my result, I tried to look at the general design
of her card, and used the tools I had on hand, to make a simpler, "Karin"
version of her card.
I started out with an A2 sized card base, a turquoise mat that was 1/4" smaller than said base, and 12 1 1/4" punched squares of various stamps.

Here are the stamps I used:
Three Butterflies
Birthday Sheet Music
Four Flower Background
Lines O' Plenty Background
Dogwood Branch
Silhouette Branch
Silhouette Background Trees
Large Original Plaid Background
Polka Dot Background
Interlocking Flower Background
Tiny Happy Birthday
This card is the whole reason that I will always be a "stampy" gal. While I love to color open line stamps, and digis have their place too, this card gives me the satisfaction of really participating in the hobby I love.
I hope I've inspired you to use your imagination when it comes to stamping, and not to be afraid of making a flat, easy to mail card :)
Peace, Love and Stamping my Friends!
