Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Happy Easter

Hi Everyone,

So, I've been trying to chase away the winter blahs through stamping.  Is it bad that I'm jealous of this chick on my card today?  I wish it were me.  I want to be the one outside surrounded by flowering trees.  The one with her toes in the cool, green grass!  Sigh.  Instead it's still boots and shovels for me :)

I tried my best to create what I wish I could see outside my window, so I began by sponging some clouds using white craft ink and a scalloped punched circle.  I added the grass at the bottom by stamping the Easy Grass Background a piece of light green cardstock.  Then I used my Stamp-a-majig and stamped the Favorite Peep Greeting and the Single Fall Tree.  Also, to mask where the sky and ground met, I added a die cut fence.

The Fuzzy Chick and Bunny Ears were stamped onto adhesive backed felt, (added some coloring) fussy cut and adhered them to the card.  I embellished my tree with some spring like sequins, but it seemed like I needed some more embellishment on the other side. I scoured my craft nooks and crannies for some Easter eggs, but came up empty, so I decided to use the Easter Egg with Bow stamp and created my own.  I stamped onto some Shrinky Dink plastic with Stazon and colored them with my Copic markers.  After cutting them out, into the oven they went, and what do you know?  They ended up being the right size, so all I had to do was add them with some clear drying glue :)

Well Peeps, here's hoping Spring is right around the corner!

Thanks for visiting!
