Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Otter Birthday

Hi Stamping Friends!

I'm so happy it's the weekend and that the humidity and temps are supposed to be coming down to a more manageable 80 something degrees.  This past week being in the 90's pretty much kept me in the air conditioning.

I'm looking forward to picnicking outside this weekend and listening to the Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center.  I know, pretty high brow of me. LOL.  Before you think I'm too good for the masses, I did engage in the pop culture phenomenon that is Twilight, and went to see Eclipse with my friend this past Wednesday.  I'm not a fan whose has read the books, but who can turn down time with a girlfriend, right?  We actually went with our hubby's a couple of weeks ago to see a showing of Singing in the Rain.  Now THAT'S a movie!  My personal favorite movie musical... So great on a big screen too.  Sigh. If you've never seen it, put it on your Bucket List. (A movie I haven't seen, by the way.) You will thank me.

Oh, and if you live in the Cleveland area, and want a great outdoor dining experience (Like somewhere that doesn't overlook a parking lot...) Head on over to Tinkers Creek Road Tavern.  I took my nieces and we met my husband for lunch a couple weeks ago before the hot weather hit.  It was as perfect a day as you could get.

So, on to my card that is totally unrelated to my previous ramblings.  I used one of the new stamps that is being release by DRS Designs today.  Aren't these Otter's cute?  I used both Bic Mark-its and Copics to create the water around the otters and they themselves were paper pieced.  I stamped them on gray card stock and then used a darker gray copic and the colorless blender to add some depth and highlights to the animals.
I used the curved Happy Birthday Arc sentiment and made it into a child's birthday card.

This is just one of the stamps being released today, so pop on by DRS Designs to see them all.

I hope you have some fun plans this weekend, or just some time to relax...Thanks for visiting and if you want a chance at my blog candy leave a comment on this post here.

Have a great weekend.
