Welcome!

My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.

Celebrate Summer

Hi Everyone,

I made this card over the Memorial Day weekend, but I'm hoping I can use it for the Fourth of July.  The Americana color scheme just screams summer in the USA.

I made it with an image from the set Birds and Branches from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  I just love that little flag hanging from the birdhouse :)

Don't look too close, I had a small goof up.  After coloring the image, I went along and added the shadow with a light blue Copic marker and the red did this little bleed!  Weird.  I've never had that happen before so I have no idea why.

Here is that set.  I used it for my card last week too:

Thanks for visiting!  Be sure to check out Lindsay's blog and the rest of the DT too.

The instructor for my copic intro class said the reds tend to be difficult...I'll blame that because you did an amazing job on this card! Love those stars and the fantastic twine treatment =)

Hi there, your card is so pretty Karin. I love the textures and the wrapping of the string. Did you make that string from Lindsay's tutorial?

Have a great day!

Lots of great details on this card. I wouldn't ahve noticed the bleeding if you hadn't said anything. (don't you just hate it when people say that? lol)
Thanks so much for playing with us this week at Phindy's!

I hate when that happens. I never would have noticed if you didn't 'fess up. I only have that problem with the darker colors, like red.

I love your card! So patriotic! All the details like the twine, stars, label, edge punch, etc. are just perfect.

Can't see any bleed here Karin. What popped out at me was not only the color scheme but the embossed stars, WOW! those are fantastic!

I agree with Tanny. Never mess with red Copics!! Don't touch them after you're done! ;) The card is superb regardless. I love the patriotic colours and details and the fact that the twine looks like a cool fence!
