My name, Karin, was pretty common when I was growing up...just not the spelling. Unless you are of German heritage like I am. So, I have spent my entire life answering the question, "What is your name"?... With, "Karin...with an "i"! Who knew it would come in handy all these years later when I went to name my blog.
I thought I would share a photo from the last time I dressed up for a Halloween Party... It was 5 years ago. Rod was a hippy and I went as Cruella DeVille. I won first prize. (This was also the year Rod took 3rd in the work costume contest) I guess we've decided to go out on a high note, we haven't dressed up since...lol!
As I mentioned yesterday here on the blog, the "HOGtoberfest" happenings are continuing on today at
Hambo Stamps. I'm so excited to share that the new rubber stamps are available for purchase. Woo-Hoo! Just in time for holiday card making and beyond...Yes, there are some adorable choices for spring and all occasions too, and you can check them out right here. And, if you place an order by October 31st that includes at least one of the newly released stamps, you will receive a surprise in the form of afree stamp from the current collection! So fun :)
I'm fortunate to be able to share my card made with two new adorable stamps. Doesn't this snowman just make you smile? It's the perfect stamp to pair with this new sentiment too! I also used a bit of May Arts ribbon on my card. It's currently on sale at Hambo Stamps for 60% off due to it being closed out. Check out this page to see what's left for purchase. When it's gone, it's gone :)
Remember to stop by and check out the new arrivals page at Hambo Stamps and visit my team mates (blogs are on my side bar) for more peeks at cards made with the new rubbah stamps!
Oink oink :)

This was super fun card to prepare for you today. Can you guess the challenge by looking at my card?
Use newspaper!
This image is Newscaster. I struggle with masculine cards, so I love that this makes a fun one for my stash. Along with using newspaper as a background, I paper pieced it in this newscasters hands as well. I finished it off by using lots of office type of embellishments. I thought that would help butch it up a bit, since I always want to add ribbon and glitter to everything :)
Details not listed above-Paper: The Paper Company, Markers: Copic, Punches: EK Success & Stampin' Up!, Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug, Office supplies from my stash.
I shared these on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog over this past month, but I wanted show off these cuties here too. This first card is a Z Fold (I know, I make these cards often) and the specifics on the products can be found here.
I love this adorable Candy Cane Pengie and I added some Celestial glitter using Brushable Glue around the image. I tied it all together with some gold edged pink ribbon and a gold snowflake charm from my stash.
For this second card, I created the background using the Snowflurries stamp from the set along with some Firecracker Red embossing powder. Again specific deets can be found right here.
Our next blog hop is November 10-11, so mark your calender. There are always GREAT prizes to be had!
Thanks for stopping in here... I'm hoping to package up my Halloween treats today, so that I'm ready to go on the big night. Well, let's be real. It's mostly to keep me from eating them :)
DRS Designs is one of the sponsors over at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week, so I quickly whipped up a card in support. Now it's up to you to play along for your chance at winning a prize to the DRS Designs store.
Here is this weeks sketch:
I decided to flip the sketch to accommodate my stamps.
Another easy to mail holiday card done. Here are the stamps I used:
As I type this, I'm still feeling chilled from my morning walk outside. It really feels like holidays are right around the corner :) And I don't mean Halloween...lol. I'm so not ready. Then at the same time, why should I be ready when Christmas it 2 months away? Still, it always creeps up so fast and I'm scrambling at the last minute.
Anyway, here is my card share for today. I used the new Christmas Follies set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff for this card. Using printables is a departure for me, but they are quick and easy for when you need to mass produce at Christmas time. If you have SCAL and a cutting machine, it's even faster. I printed out the snowman twice and fussy cut one of them so that I could pop it up, and I added some glitter for a snowy look.
Here is the entire set:
Lindsay's Stamp Stuff also has this printable set for making stuff for craft fairs this season. These would also be great for stocking stuffers and teacher gifts too!
Well, that's another finished Christmas card. I'll go ahead and say it...Yay me :) Please stop by Lindsay's blog and see what she has been up to. There are always freebies, videos, and organizational tips to help boost your creativity over there. And as always, my team mates blogs are on my side bar.

It's time for another challenge at the Hambo Hoedown!
This week we have a sketch for you. I know lots of folks love sketches, so dust off your Hambo Stamps and images and play along with us!
Sketches are never my strong suit, but this one is nice and easy totally do-able for anyone :) If I can, you can. Trust me. See?
If you played along last week, and remembered to email a photo of your card, you can play along using the ZombieBunny image. Isn't he funny?! I decided to name him Franken Bunny and colored him green. (He comes with multiple sentiments too.)
When I was finished assembling the card, I decided it wasn't quite done. I followed the sketch so literally, that I didn't have any embellishments on the card. Out came the googly eyes and Stickles on his cottontail. Now it was done...lol!
Hop on over to the Hoedown and see how the rest of the Bacon Bacon bits completed the challenge.
Have a great day!
P.S .A little piggy told me that Hambo Stamps will be kicking off their 'HOGtoberfest' celebration tomorrow!! If you want to celebrate along with them, and find some great deals in the process, be sure to check out their "Sale" page tomorrow." It's going to be an ePIG event!
P.S.S. Hambo Stamps is also a sponsor of the Hope You Can Cling To campaign over at Splitcoast. You can click here for all the prize info and other details!

The new Christmas and winter themed stamps were released over the weekend at DRS Designs. There are so many new ones, I was having a hard time deciding what to show off first. This card showcases the new icicles border stamp, along with lots of others from the current catalog. I always think blue and white is a great color combo for winter, so I stuck with that when working on this card.
The background was stamped with the Large Filigree Snowflake, and I've really been into Penguins this year, so I stamped the cute Skating Penguin along with the Snowflakes and Winter Cheer sentiment. The penguin (Aren't the blue ice skates fun?!) was fussy cut and attached with a pop dot.
My embellishments I chose were some glossy effects on the icicles and the three shiny dome stickers along the border. I think this card is super cheerful and I would even send this to someone wishing them a Happy New Year :)
I also have a post at the DRS Designs blog today, pop on by for another card I made using the newly released stamps!

I vacationed at home this past week. I really recommend doing that. Be a tourist in your own city and do the things that you normally wouldn't do, or get the chance to do when you are busy living your everyday life.
If you live in a place that doesn't get the fall colors, let me be your guide to Autumn in northern Ohio. Weather permitting, each year we head out to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park for a hike during mid October.
Along the way are a couple of ponds. We make this one our first stop each time.
Then we move on...
This is Sylvan Pond, and it's one of our favorite places in the whole world... I wish it wasn't so cloudy the day we went.
I love the way the trees reflect in the water. So beautiful :)
A couple of shots of the wildlife. Frog!
Wooly Bear...This is what these caterpillars are called here. There's a town about an hour from where I live that has a Wooly Bear Festival every year. Kids and pets get dressed up, parades, wooly bear races, etc. Small town fun. I've never been, but every year we say that we will go next year to see what the fuss is about.
Very bad photo of a blue heron. I really have to learn how to use that zoom.
Next up we went to the Metroparks to see the falls. I know they aren't massive like some, but pretty none the less.
Then to Tinkers Creek Gorge. They say it's one of the prettiest views in the entire county where I live.
Gosh, I really wish Autumn lasted longer. Sigh.
All the outdoor time made us hungry so we had to eat out all over the place.
We had brunch at Lucky's Cafe. This segment from Diners, Drive-In's and Dives shows off the place way better than I ever could. Let's just say it TOTALLY lived up to the hype!
Another highlight was a trip downtown to NoodleCat. RIDICULOUS! I wish I could adequately describe the aroma wafting from our delicious bowls of goodness :)
There was also a trip to Melt. A new location just opened close to where we live. We actually tried to go to the original location a couple of years ago. It was 2:30pm on a Saturday and we thought while there may be a slight wait, surely at this off hour it couldn't be too bad. It was 2 hrs long! So we left. I don't wait for two hours for a sandwich, I don't care how good it is. Anyway, short wait at the new place and it was an awesome gooey indulgence! Here is Guy again, eating the sandwich named after my home town! (I had the Blackened Chicken though)
We also went Bowling, to the movies to see 50/50, and got carry out from Sittoo's. And, tomorrow we celebrate the hubby's birthday with the family, so now you are all caught up on my life. I'm just not listing how many pounds I gained over this week...lol!
I'll be back in blogland soon...Thanks for stopping by :)
Are you ready for another challenge at the Hambo Hoedown???
This week we are featuring the adorable Mummy digi and the challenge is to use the following colors of Orange,Black, Purple and Green. Perfect Halloween colors!
And this digi comes with 2 "punny" sentiments! Go ahead and color up those digis and ink up your Hambo stamps! If you play along at the Hoedown and link up your card, don't forget to mail a photo to hambodesignteam@gmail.com This will insure you getting a free digi for next weeks challenge :) Don't have any Hambo Stamps? Just click here for a couple of freebies and join the fun!
Have a great day!
PS. I made the background around my mummy using my Copic markers. I've been wanting to try this ever since I saw my blog friend Cheryl do it on this post. I love it, I just need more practice ;)
Details not listed above- Paper: The Paper Company and Unknown source, Markers: Copic, Punch: Martha Stewart, Ribbon from my supplies.
I've been showing off a lot of Halloween cards that I've made, so I thought I would change it up and post an autumn themed card today.
Recently DRS Designs released this sweet Squirrel with Acorn stamp. How perfect for fall right? We have so many of them in our yard and they are so cute gathering their nuts to store up for the winter months. I used the Fall Leaf with Acorn stamp for my background, and stamped and colored up a few extra acorns as embellishments.
The new Thanks Unto the Lord sentiment is perfect for the Thanksgiving holiday that is coming up next month. Is it wrong that I can almost smell the turkey already? lol!
If you want more Thanksgiving inspiration, stop by the DRS Designsblog to see my other card featured there today :)
Have a good one!
Details not listed above-Paper: the Paper Company, Ink: Memento, Stampin' Up!, Markers: Copic, Punch: Stampin' Up! Twine from my supplies.
I met Angelica through one of my first design teams, and she helped me out with a technical problem regarding my photo and I will always be grateful to her. Yes, her first language is Spanish, and while I did take 4 years of Spanish in school, it's only because SHE can read and write English that I can communicate with her. Not only that, she is super sweet and even more talented! She can make the most adorable cards, bake cakes and treats with great decorating skills, and she also has an Etsy shop!
If you like her freebie, please stop by her Etsy shop and see her sweet digis!
That's it for me. Other than some scheduled posts, I may be scarce in blog land because the hubby has vacation coming up again. No plans to go far away, but hopefully we'll do fun stuff here. The weather is shaping up to be FANTASTIC :)
Thanks for stopping by!
PS...Too lazy to list product deets for this card, so if you want to know something, email or leave a comment and I will do my best to answer.
I want to tell you that this is the last card that I'm making with the set Halloween Doodles by Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. I really do. I have enough Halloween cards, so I think this Frankie (isn't he sweet?) will have to be the last one for this year.
However, did you notice that darling little scarecrow in the set below? I think he might make an appearance on a Thanksgiving card...lol! The card above was made from scraps. Everything, even the die cuts were from my box of stuff that I save if I decided not to use it. The only thing I cut from scratch (off the spool) was that purple ribbon. Pretty good, eh?
Well, short and sweet from me today. I have some ladies coming over for a card making/ swap session, so while I'm not blogging, I'll be stampin'!
*This is my second post today...Please scroll down for my Hambo Stamps post or click here.*
Hi Everyone,
Let me first start by thanking everyone for participating in my month long give away of my favorite things and and even bigger thank you to my last sponsor Amber Ink for this generous prize! I love these cute and creative stamps and I hope that you will too.
For those of you who didn't win, did you know Amber Ink is doing a giveaway of their own??? You can grab some free iPaper by checking out their Amber Inklings post right here! Nobody goes away empty handed today :) :) :)
I'm so excited to be back on the Hambo design team for another term. These next few months I'll be working with their super cute digis, which means I will be posting my card for the Hambo Hoedown challenge every Wednedsay at my blog. I hope that you can play along this week.
This week the challenge is to use the Flower Monster (or any Hambo stamp) to create a project that uses an item that starts with the first letter of your first name.
I was a little freaked out at first, what starts with a K? I had to put on my thinking cap...See if you can guess what it is...
Isn't he the cutest thing?!?!?
Did you guess? No? Then scroll down....
KNOTS!
I'll go ahead and say it. I totally love myself. Go see what the other Bacon Bits made for the challenge and then join us. Remember to email a photo of your card to hambodesignteam@gmail.com and you will recieve a new digi to play along with for next week!
