Flower Power Thank You

Hi Everyone!


I have been doing my posts ahead of time due to Rod being on vacation this week, so it seems like I haven't blogged in a million years! I also haven't made anything new in awhile, so I was happy to be able to follow the sketch at EBTKS and whip up this quickie thank you. Last Thursday night was my first meeting for my new book club. Yay! I was so fun to get together and discuss something that everyone had read. (Except for a Bible study, I've never done that.) We read Open, and to my surprise I really liked it. I'm not a fan of Andre Agassi, and only watch tennis when Rod is watching (I have said before, we watch all things sports related!) and I read it in 3 days in spite of it being almost 400 pages. The consensus of the group was a 4 out of 5 stars...Pretty good I guess.


Anyway, I am sending this baby (aka card) out to the hostess, to let her know how wonderful everything was, and that I am grateful to be included in the group.

My polka dotted background is made from a traditional stamp from PTI and the button embellishment is actually a punch! How clever is that?

The Great Outdoors

Hi Everyone!

It's time for the sketch challenge over on the My Grafico Challenge Blog! Are you ready to play along? Here is the sketch for this week: The set that you will be playing for is, Camping in the Wild from Kelly Medina which has great camping and outdoor stamps.

The images I used in making my card are the tent (obviously) and the campfire. I chose to use the latter image as a background stamp.

I copied it multiple times, changed the color and made my own patterned paper.

Spring Has Sprung!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend... I put this banner up at the beginning of my post today, to remind you that the sale at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is still going on until Feb.22nd. You haven't missed out on a great deal yet, so drop on by!

Today the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff team is thinking spring! Oh, how I long to feel the warmth of sun on my face...lol! Well, until it arrives, here is my head start on my spring and Easter cards. This image came from the set Pretty Primitive and there are many sweet images for springtime included in it.

Choosing the colors for these flowers was so much fun...I love how they just pop off the white background, so I chose to keep the card simple. A pink layer, some ribbon and that fabulous sentiment just put me in the best mood upon completion!

My Grafico Customer Hop

My card is going to go to my friend's daughter for her birthday later this year. She will be turning 5...Isn't this a sweet image and perfect for a little ones special day? The digi stamp is from Sassy Cheryl at My Grafico and the name is Sunday's Sundae.

"People" stamps are definitely outside my comfort zone, scary to me as far as coloring goes, but it was fun and I'm very happy with the results. Yeah, not so scary anymore...

Rain or Shine

I made this card for a non traditional Valentine challenge and never posted it...Oh well. Since it's not red or pink, and just about love, it will just stay in my stash for when I may need it.

I made the background myself using my one blue Copic marker and paper pieced the bird and umbrella. Clean, simple and straight forward with a sentiment I made on the computer...

Key to My Heart

Ladybug Hugs

Hi Everyone!

Last weekend was pretty snowy around here, so I stayed in and did some stamping. I don't know if I have ever copied myself before, but I did with this card.

My very first card that I posted when I started blogging last year was this cute ladybug card, that to this day is one of my favorites of all time. I was reminded of it when I was looking for spring/summer time stamps for a change. Looking to shake those winter time blues...

This ladybug is from the Doodle Flowers set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff and I thought the same concept would work with this little lady.

I printed her (Ladybugs are all girls, right?) out twice, colored both and cut the body out of the second one. I then just put tape down the center of the piece and folded up the sides.

Love her! The layout is my own and the sentiment is a traditional stamp.

Valentine Treat

Hi...It's Monday!



I hope you all had a great weekend...Today the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff team is bringing you Valentine's Day treat ideas. Mine is crazy simple. That's not necessarily bad when you are in a time crunch, right?



I made these candy bar pull treats for my niece's Valentine care package. They hold a regular size Hearshy bar and has a simple layered heart embellishment.



The heart image comes from the Recipe Set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. How that for versatility in stamps? I changed the color before printing out the heart and then simply colored the buttons on it with my marker. Then layered it with some punched out paper pieces. (I thought I would hold off on any glitter...I think I over use it in my projects...lol!)

Here are the dimensions I used for this treat holder:

1 piece of patterned paper 6"x 6"
Scored at 1/2" and 3 1/4".

Tape along bottom and side as shown.

Then I ran the bottom 1/2" or so through my crimper.

Punch a hole through the top of the holder and cut a piece of ribbon 2 times the length of the holder itself. About 12"-14" in this case. Thread the ribbon through the holes, insert candy bar, and tie a bow. You can then make the candy bar slide in and out.

Happy Day!

Hi Everyone!

Do you know what today is?? Yes, yes it is Groundhog Day, but that's not what I am referring to. For me it's a different holiday. The Oscar nominations are out today! Yay!

Yes, it's all true, I am a super geek and look forward to it every year. I also try to make it to all the Best Picture nominees, so that I have a rooting interest on award night. (AKA-my Superbowl.) I rarely ever manage to get to all of them, and for sure I won't this year. There are 10 movies instead of the usual 5. Give me a break. There is no way 10 deserve this...Puh-leeze! I must say, I have seen half of them though. Blah, blah... Enough, now.

Here is my card for today. PTI is having an anniversary celebration with free stamp downloads, so this is my card made with one of them. It can be used for a guy birthday or any day! There are prizes to be had, so check out the blog if you want to participate.

You're So Sweet

Hello Crafty Peoples!

It's Monday, and I have another card for you made with an image from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff digital stamps. Lindsay was the sponsor for Tuesday Morning Sketches last week, so this is the sketch I followed for my card. I picked the cute little soda/ice cream shake from the Sweet Stuff set. The embossed background is a floral motif which matched the layered flower embellishment and patterned paper. The sentiment is a traditonal stamp.

The cherry on top is dotted with Glossy Effects to make it shine, and some stamping glitter finishes off the frothy top!
